I can listen to this for hours, during the Christmas season. I first heard it on the radio during the early 90's and turned on my cassette recorder, but didn't catch all of it. My tape was played so much that all you could hear was hiss, basically. I never thought I would ever hear this again, but it is the exact same recording. I would love to hear this in its entirety. Thank you and blessings upon you for posting this.
I first heard this in the early 90's, and I caught it on the radio and taped a portion of it, and NEVER thought I would find the same exact recording! I am so confused over the portion of the 2nd stanza that reads: "The first thing that I do relate is that God did man create". This sounds wrong, to me. Should be "Is that man did God create", shouldnt it?
This is the truth sent from above The truth of God the God of love Therefore don't turn me from your door But hearken well both rich and poor The first thing which I do relate Is that God did man create The next thing which to you I'll tell Woman was made with man to dwell Thus we were heirs to endless woes Till God the Lord did interpose And so a promise soon did run That He would redeem us by His Son (cont'd)

@audiophile55 how funny that people do the same things. I recorded this in the 90s but got the whole thing - arranged it for the guitar.
It was a stage where I kept discovering where everything I liked (on the radio) turned out to have been written or arranged by Vaughan Williams :)
There are a few other videos of this tune on YouTube to look out for

Thus He in love to us behaved
To show us how we must be saved
And if you want to know the way
Be pleased to hear what he did say
What gorgeous words to match the heartfelt music! Thanks for posting!
