Drums don't necessarily need to be in the background.
Jet Black is a fine drummer and many of his beats are not in the background.
Peaches and No Mercy have prominent drum parts and BTW were heavily influenced by Beefheart's style of drums. I know this because I played drums for both Beefheart and The Stranglers .
Ringo is the worst thing to ever happen to drumming. He was the least creative of the Fab Four.
Before you go pointing fingers try to educate yourself in order not to look foolish
Jet Black rules...... Jet Black for an OBE.... he will be drumming til he is 90..... I am no drummer.. but you really want to fade out your drumming a bit; you are meant to be in the background... Richard Starkey has a DVD out, teaching drums, you may pick up a few pointers..
FP51DPO, The drums sound like that because of the cheap microphone attached to the camera. The good bass sound was just luck. PS It's Cornwell not Cornwall.

haha hey Rob, I saw you on judge judy against Lydon. You seem to be a whiny little pecker, Although shiny beast and doc at the radar station are fantastic albums, remember that is no reason to have an overblown head ;)
