1.49.842 was faster than a computer simulated lap time and sent shock to Nissan and Toyota works. This was the first time a simulated time (theoretical fastest) was beaten in real life. To put this into perspective, a lap time of 1.50.635 was done by Toyota 89c-v in 1989, which is a group c car with 1000+ps compared to 500ps of GT500. The course record is still unbeaten (2011), and ARTA won championship in 2007 without waiting for final race which was a first time in JGTC/SUPER GT

So its not like anyone's defending the driver's skill by refering to the driver's performance in a superior car; I really dont get what's all the fuzz. I can probably understand people shouting against each other in a DTM&GT500 discussion, but since you all very well understood FIA GT1's regulations, it should've made the result more acceptable --- they're meant to be slower, despite having more horsepower. He hasn't suggested being slower means anything yet, flaming isn't appropriate.

So having learnt all these you should know GT500 cars will be faster than FIA GT1 cars with a reason. If that guy doesn't know these you'd quoted, he just doesn't know the reason behind it, he's not made the wrong conclusion: GT1 is slower than GT500. Hence you can't call him stupid.. But I mean, why so angry? They don't even compete against each other under same condition, like Indy vs F1, LMPs vs Grand-Am, they are just look-a-likes, and there will be one of them faster sometimes.

Damn that's an insane time! I've tried really hard get good times in this course with this car in GT5... best I can manage is a lap time in the 1:53s...

I have no Idea how he makes the car stick so well in the corners. Is he he using some ultra sticky tires?

@NotSoFastDriver I also play GT5, it looks like this Arta NSX runs on super soft tires and is set up to be slightly oversteery. I wouldn't set up my GT5 Arta NSX like this driver, I would spin out for sure. Amazing car control.

In this movie is NSX with stroked (race trim) C32B to 3.5L NA V6, 500bhp@9500-10000rpm (limited) GT500 rules.

And also you can find the turbo version, but i don't know what performance.

Daisuke Ito is a great racer in Super GT. I've never hated the NSX'es in this series. That's a fantastic racing machine. I used to didn't like that big air duct applied on the NSX'es in 2003 (or 2004?), but the MUGEN/Dome NSX race cars still remains beautiful. And... damn! THAT is a flying lap around one of the world's most rewarding racing circuits! Wicked fast lap!

With their racing technology and finesse, the V10 should be another piece of art in engineering. The older NSX in its days, was quite advanced for its time. The balance of that car is still amazing.

thats due to their wider tyres better brakes and aero imagine if they made a gt500 category for le mans and weight was reduced by a futher 100kg and power up to 600hp more than wud be the shits

@butwal Usually a few seconds a lap faster, mainly because the Super GT cars have far superior aerodynamics and are in general allowed to be very much modified compared to their road car.

All this translates into some awesome cars, awesome racing and awesome battles =3

Its with great joy to see them win both the Kyushu 300km with maximum WH100kg.
