That looks like a voltage regulator or limiter. I would try to find out the component number and replace that component. Most electronic parts store would probably have it. No harm in trying.
@keearun Thanks for input. I have ordered a working power supply but I'm going to keep this one because if the one I get goes bad I will try fixing this one.
worry so many comments. i would also look in the same circuit that is on to see if there is anything that might have made it do it too. i fixed a monitor by replacing some caps so think i could replace that too.
i would like to have one f those. i seen a imac g3 for $1`5 at peddlers mall flea market place whre i lvie but don't know if works and comes with nothing and no os disc.
@james42519 You should get it man that is cheap. What peddler's mall because there is one in richmond ky named that? I just ordered a power supply 190 watt off ebay that is guranteed to work for $36.00 shipped. I also got on amazon and purchased a new 3.6 volt saft lithium battery since I have it apart already and it's a 7 year old battery and it was just $4.40 shipped. Only thing worries me is the bios settings since this machine upgraded OS 10.5.9 and 500 gig hdd with loads of software.
@matt78tv it is the one in somerset ky. i don't even know if it turns on and looks like might have been taken apart before. might have to try and try and get a power cord and stuff to test i guess.

that looks like a transistor. should be cheap and easy to replace if you can solder at all.
