Its pretty easy to figure out why Europeans put up with their male nobility womanizing and having so many illegitimate kids; when among your people, there are your own children, you take care of them better. A monarch is more motivated to take good care of his people, if among them, live his own children. You can only get away with being a tyrant, if no one among the populace shares your blood.

He was married with his first wife for over 20 years, and he loved Anne for more than 8 years without sleeping with her and without being unfaithfull, his third wife he truly loved but she died and his fourth wife wasn't even of his own choice, the parliament forced him to marry her, his fifth wife cheated on him which must have been very embarrasing and treason he had no choice but to kill her, he loved his last wife.

He was an evil man. He was honored in his lifetime because he was the king; but over time, as the truth becomes known, his character has been revealed more and more.
For example, in the case of Anne Boleyn. Historians think that she was probably innocent of the crimes/sins Henry accused her of. In other words, he wanted to get rid of Anne because she didn't give him a male heir; so he he made false accusations against her and eventually took her life.

The picture that has been used for wive no.5 Katherine Howard is actually a picture of Elizabeth Seymour sister of Henry's 3rd wife Jane. It was incorrectly identified as Katherine Howard in the 19th century

I thought that was weird. I read a book, can't remember who wrote it at the moment, but all she had was a face in profile of Katherine Howard in a stained glass window, and it could be the only image in existence of her. Antonia Fraser, that's who the author was. Good book, btw.
