  • Henry VIII is my 13th great grandfather :D

  • Interesting fact about Anne Boleyn. Her family was actually named Bullen, until they changed it to the more fashionable, French-sounding version of Boleyn.

  • The Plantagenet's were a ♥ly family too, just as The French ! ‡‡

  • Larry King had more wives than King Henry VIII !!

  • He was so fat in difference from a beautiful Jonathan

  • @ZZZANNAMARIYZZZ When Henry was young he was good looking and very fit.

  • History class for life

  • :)

  • lyrics please? lol

  • It may be a "play-on" song of the 16thC king of England(not Britain) Queen Elizabeth 1's dad, but it had nothing to do with the guy himself or the monarchy itself!! How shrewd!! ...HAHAHAHA But anyways, putting all that aside... notice the 1st-cay cover "The Great Tudor" with the stamps on it, I just hope that the addressee(that the person that it was sent to) doesn't live there anymore. He could sue the person who made this video[not necessarily the person who posted this video up]!

  • We listened to this in History class x]

  • @CookieMonster0075 umm same? badurp

  • How late do you have to be before you

  • earworm

  • tee hee thankyou for helping me with my homework. lol I love it when Sam Wheat (Patrick Swayze) sings this to annoy Ada-May (Whoopi Goldberg) in Ghost.

  • penis

  • penis

  • If you listen to the words, though the name is Henry, they aren't talking about "The Henry the 8th"

It's a guy whose name happens to be henry and he's the 8th husband of the widow next door! LOL ^_^

  • In my opinion religions are lies, creations of desperate men to justify their fear of the unknown but some also used it as a powerful tool to control and manipulate the ignorant masses.the bible the koran and almost every religious doctrine today is full or errors that can be proven wrong by plain logic despite that it has been written that it is impossible to grasp religious matters using rational thought

  • Now that's a guy you don't want to be subject too during his reign more than 57,000 people were executed. If he had never been king english population would now be greater I guess.

  • ha!ha! this is great!

  • the English Church has definitely not been Protestant since - Henry the VIII's daughter, Mary, was a catholic who burned Protestants at the stake --- just sayin'

  • Yeah, I know. I always mean to edit the video, but lost all the old files...Henry officially broke the

Church of England off with the Roman Catholic Church in Rome and made himself the Head of the Church of England (as opposed to the Pope.) It was under his daughter Elizabeth's I reign that the common book of prayer was changed to show a more "reformed" church (hence protestant...)

  • @manutdanglophile I enjoy the truth and knowledge of the days you bring into the light

  • @manutdanglophile his daughter mary the first is actually the cursed bloody mary, the bloody mary that kills you in your bathroom if you drop and kill her baby. BLOODY HELL THE SHIT YOU CAN LEARN ON YOUTUBE

  • @manutdanglophile Although the Anglican Chuch has never been a true example of a protestant church, like Baptist or Methodist are.

Centrally the reason the Anglican Church split from the Catholic Church was its desire to be autonomous; rather than the theological disagreements the Baptists and Methodists had.

If you to a Anglican High Church you'd struggle to find many differences in the decoration and style of the church and the service it's self.

  • the alphabit backwords fits to this tune try it.

  • this was in the simpsons :)

  • Unfortunately, Protestantism was the creation of two mortal men (Luther in Germany and Henry in England) who simply wanted to formulate easy rules that they were already living by. The only three religions directly descended from the Word of God are Judaism, Roman Catholicism and Eastern Orthodoxy (the latter differs with Catholicism in the interpretation of the Word). All others are the formulations of flawed and mortal men.

  • @ligreekguy thank you! you wasted like a minute of your life! I WAS TALKING BOUT THE SONG!

  • The truth is never a waste of time, whatevergamer.

  • Goodness, so they weren't 'protesting' anything, like the selling of indulgences or the decadent and self-serving doctrines of the Catholic Church at the time?

  • Yes they were, only to impose even more prohibitive doctrines and practices of their own: ever hear of the Calvinists, Puritans, Zwinglians, etc? Besides, it is not the rules (which can be changed) but the origins of religions that count. As I said, Catholicism, Eastern Orthodoxy and Judaism are the only faiths whose origins are directly linked to divine inspiration, and not self-seeking and ambitious mortal individuals. Do you really think Luther had sacred motives? Quite naive, my friend.

  • And Luther was very anti-semitic. So much for "love thy neighbor"...

  • Very true. I am not even Catholic (I am Greek Orthodox), but I find the one sided criticisms leveled against the Catholic Church, and often only the Catholic Church, to be hypocritical and specious. Were there less than satisfactory Popes? Absolutely. Some bad rules and practices? Yes, though they were abolished with time. But this should not undermine the institution itself. We have had some arguably bad presidents, but does this mean we should drop the idea of a democratic republic?

  • @ligreekguy Remember that Catholicism and Eastern Orthodoxy were born out of the Christian Church of Roman Times. The big schism took place a 1,000 years ago, in essence birthing the 2 branches of Christianity- Roman Catholicism and Eastern Othodoxy. And I don't agree only 3 religions are directly linked to divine inspiration. Anyone can argue that they were "divinely inspired". Were the religions of aboriginal peoples not "divinely inspired" by their gods? I'm sure they would say so

  • Fair enough, but I was talking about what are known in the West as the "major religions". I actually respect all faiths, but I do think that a line of origin (not necessarily one being superior over the other) needs to be drawn between those religions whose foundations were rooted more in mass consensus than individually.

  • @ligreekguy i respect faiths that dont allow boys to be "groomed" at an alter.

and that dont blow people up for their gods- or elephant peolpe.

    just sayin.

  • @MiCL19

What on earth are you talking about? As I stated above, I am not Catholic, and there has never been a single case of altar boy abuse in the Eastern Orthodox Church (we allow married clergy, though I think this is unrelated). Elephant people? Are you criticizing Hindus? Discrimination is a part of life, my friend, and has nothing to do with religion, as atheists, agnostics and secularists are also quite guilty of it. By the way, your spelling and grammar are atrocious.

  • @ligreekguy I am sorry, but I dont recall stating that u were catholic, my friend, and when was it that I wrote anything at all about discrimination, let alone restricting it to being based around religion alone?

  • @ligreekguy (Cont.) Anyway enough of ur mistakes, could u please point out my spelling errors, because all I could seem to find was 'alter'. Where I accidently, due to rushed typing, put E instead of A.

And as for grammer, did you mean my lack of capitals and apostrophes?

  • @MiCL19

Well, the errors are more grammatical than spelling related, but even those can be quite disorienting to the reader.

  • @ligreekguy Can we just end this now? U R a 49-yr old, who, evidently, has nothing better 2 do than 2 constantly comment on the same video, and write useless comments that no1 gives a shit about, whilst at the same time trying to make urself look intelligent. Now im not questioning ur intelligencw, u clearly have a lot of knowledge, as useless as it is, its knwledge non the less, but you seem to be trying too hard to make every1 aware of this. Now, im sure u have plates to smash so... run along

  • @MiCL19

Well, I believe I struck a nerve. Your response reflects your overall ignorance, sir, not to mention your bigotry. And for the record, I check this site twice a day, and spend a grand total of no more than 20 minutes on it in any given day, so if anyone needs to get a life, my friend, it is you. And in the meantime, I suggest you take a class in Remedial Writing 101, as you are living proof of what is grossly wrong with the American educational system.

  • @ligreekguy I am not sure where ur coming from with the whole 'writing' issues, i am simply writing in text slang/shortening words so that my comment stays within the character limit.. AND as for your 'you are living proof of what is grossly wrong with the American educational system. ' comment, well u may find 1 minor issue is that im not American, im english, so may i suggest that u were to stop making assumptions. and dont worry, my nerves would not be struck by a person such as urself.

  • @MiCL19

But that is even worse, you guys gave us the language!

  • @ligreekguy how is tht worse, u were saying the american educational system was bad, so me being english doesnt make it worse, it is completely different.

  • @manutdanglophile actually bout 700 years ago the Great Schism happened. 1300's and up

  • @ligreekguy i agree with what you said, and that is what makes the Catholic Church great it has a large structured system and can change as Pope John Paul II clearly did but not so much as if to fall apart by one bad pope, which i will admit there have been many.

  • @thirstyyet

Thanks for the back up, my friend, I certainly needed it! Again, I am Greek Orthodox, but I must give credit to the Catholic Church for standing up to and halting the advance of the Muslim hordes after the fall of Constantinople. A lot of blood was shed by Catholic warriors who, like the Spartans at Thermopylae, literally saved Western civilization ironically to prevent modern liberals today from wearing burkhas and getting stoned to death for minor offenses.

  • @ligreekguy= True. Too bad those ungrateful bastards don't learn history. Nancy Pelosi would be in a hijab if not for the warrios of God. And Jane Fonda would be getting beaten by her husband for looking at another man funny.

  • @vigo894

Not a bad idea for both these women, Vigo! (At least we will no longer be forced to looking at Pelosi pound that gavel as Speaker, and fortunately, Hanoi Jane has ridden off into the liberal sunset).

  • @ligreekguy Christianity is little better than Islam.Free your mind from all religion.

  • @katinasvenska

Whoa, now THERE is an intelligent statement! All diatribe, and nothing to back it up except for what is obviously a hedonistic lifestyle on your part. It is comments like these that keep religion going stronger than ever, thank God.

  • @ligreekguy Just enjoy the song, dammit.

  • @ligreekguy Well said!

  • @thegenius1011

    rather ignorant, no?

  • @ligreekguy

    there are 4

    you are forgetting Islam

  • @Mascro1977

Sorry, but Mohammed was the Luther of his time. He married a wealthy woman, lived off of her in order to conduct his religious campaign, advocated war and death against those who refused to embrace his faith, and expanded his own status and wealth due largely to the spreading of Islam by means of conquest. He did not continue to live in poverty, nor did he embrace the downtrodden as well as non-believers, nor did he die a brutal death for the sake of sinners as did Jesus.

  • when i watched at school homer simpson was on it !!!

  • This Henry VIII was one of the biggest pieces of human garbage to ever wield power. Good riddance.

  • so wat

  • Lisened to this at school :\

    Same vid

  • haha im using this video for one of my powerpoints in world history and i hope my teacher sees this comment cause i thought this video would make you laugh and possssibly get me a few of those 5 extra points that you leave to grade with haha.. let me know if you read this

  • I'm 'Enry the eighth, I yam, I yam. LOL.

  • 0AwesomeProductions0 YOU ARE RUDE!!!!!!!!!!

  • our social studies teacher showed it to all of us 8th graders at TJMS .......WE LOVED IT!

  • im kinda shocked right now......my mom was on ancestry com and she was looking up my familys history and i found out i am his great great great great great..... (like 14th grandson)

but im not saying i like him or anything

  • LIAR!!!!! I'm his 14th grandson!

  • y do u say that???? i dont have solid evidence tho

  • i like henry viii

  • Screw the prenumpual agreement he had the right idea

  • it sings hen-er-y not henry

  • Its pretty easy to figure out why Europeans put up with their male nobility womanizing and having so many illegitimate kids; when among your people, there are your own children, you take care of them better. A monarch is more motivated to take good care of his people, if among them, live his own children. You can only get away with being a tyrant, if no one among the populace shares your blood.

  • Be careful what you say beacuse it may come back to haunt you

  • yes the protestants r shaking in fear of ur scary relics. so much for loving others regardless of who they are like Jesus.

  • You're not going to win any converts that way.

  • Comment removed

  • dude, go complain somewhere else...we dont wanna hear it

  • AIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE, those girls need to hush xD

  • Can you imagine Henry VIII singing this himself

  • ahha im singing this song in choir for school lol :))

  • acually, the song is not about King Henry the VIII, It's about a guy named Henery(Henry) who is a woman's 8th wife named Henery, therefore the eighth Henery

  • that should say Husband, not wife...wow...whoops...

  • it is about henry VIII, their version is showing everything thats ironic about his situations

  • well arent you a SUCK UP

  • lmao! no, i rere luv this song! lol

  • Why would they sing about a tyrant king?...

  • He was a brilliant king. Though he had been cruel to his wives, he has made many accomplishments as a king.

  • this song is annoying! i love it! lol i like it when the dude on ghost sings it!

  • Absolutely love this song, remember it from Ghost but my pops looks like lead singer. I love this song.

    THE SCHMOES

  • aw how cute!! :)

  • What a fuckin shite song!

  • wow! they are better than Beatles :)

  • well i wouldn't say that....

    :P

they never had a song as funny and awesome as this though

  • i take that back, plenty more awesome, very few as funny

  • The beatles suck, it's not too hard to be better than them.

  • this isnt the beatles

  • No, this was made about 50 years before

  • oh no way man!

  • wow this is clever!

  • I love this video. haha its funny at the end when they all suddenly put their heads down. haha. notice??

anywayz i luv that song since i 1st heard it in a history lesson!! ha woop woop!!

  • Awsome.

  • the snl skit on the "other other boleyn girl" was hilarious... you should try to look it up, I don't know if its on utube

  • lol did you remember the Simpsons episode where homer was henry vii lol

  • why was mary I known as "bloody mary"??

  • she had people killed

  • @itachifan1243 Mary tried "with the help of 300 burning stakes" to bring England back to the catholic fate....didn´t work though....her reign saw more unrest and a very costly war with France (both in money as well in men and territory-the loss of Calais/France) ,urged on her by her husband,Phillipe of Spain, whom she immortally loved but he used her all but as a tool for his interests....

  • You know,Henry never loved any of his wives,in my opinion. He was a selfish womanizing jerk, and all he wanted was a son from these women.

  • very common back then

  • Then you are foolish, you have no idea what you are talking about. He was married with his first wife for over 20 years, and he loved Anne for more than 8 years without sleeping with her and without being unfaithfull, his third wife he truly loved but she died and his fourth wife wasn't even of his own choice, the parliament forced him to marry her, his fifth wife cheated on him which must have been very embarrasing and treason he had no choice but to kill her, he loved his last wife.

    Boo 4 you

  • Lys4nne - Well,we have a difference of opinion, and having diiferent opinions makes neither one of us "foolish".

  • i like the song but totaly agree he was devoted to his families and country and aybe screwed up a couple of times but he was a king and he has helped england

  • That´s exactly correct!

I don´t see him as the beast he truly was.

You have to know him truly to see why he acted the way he did.

    I totally agree with you.

  • Just to say, Henry was apparently also really pissed off when he found out about Catherine Howard's dalliance and even took out a sword and screamed that he was going to kill her himself.

  • RIght! He ruined all their lives!

  • "The name of the wicked will rot."

  • what does that have to do with this video?

  • You said "he ruined all their lives".

He was an evil man. He was honored in his lifetime because he was the king; but over time, as the truth becomes known, his character has been revealed more and more.

For example, in the case of Anne Boleyn. Historians think that she was probably innocent of the crimes/sins Henry accused her of. In other words, he wanted to get rid of Anne because she didn't give him a male heir; so he he made false accusations against her and eventually took her life.

  • The name of psychkoala will rot.

  • "the name of YOU will rot"

  • JETHRO TULL ROCKS!

  • lol i love this sonnggg wayy too catchyyy...lol

  • Omg this is so great. I love people.

  • Yes lol! We wacthed this in History class lol!xD

  • The picture that has been used for wive no.5 Katherine Howard is actually a picture of Elizabeth Seymour sister of Henry's 3rd wife Jane. It was incorrectly identified as Katherine Howard in the 19th century

  • I thought that was weird. I read a book, can't remember who wrote it at the moment, but all she had was a face in profile of Katherine Howard in a stained glass window, and it could be the only image in existence of her. Antonia Fraser, that's who the author was. Good book, btw.

  • yea i read that book too and that stained glass window is the only known likeness to Katherine Howard. You can tell its a pictire of Eliazbeth Seymour because her and Jane have the same nose

  • this is so my new fav song. my teacher played it during religion class, cause we were learing about the divison between england and the catholic church

  • wasn't Mary I more like a cousin of Elesabeth I, and as that not a daughter of Henry VIII? At least that's the way Schiller put it and as far as I know from learing back, when I read that in school, that was historically accurat?!

  • Mary I was Henry's daughter with Katherine and Elizabeth I's half sister.

  • Learn your History Mary I was the daughter of Henry VIII and his 1st wife Catherine of Aragon Elizabeth was the daughter of Henry VIII and Anne Boylen.

  • interessting, just read it all up... must have remembered that completely wrongly from when I read Schiller, since he has all the facts completely mixed up...

  • I think that u r thinking of Mary Queen of Scots who was Eliabeths cousin

  • lol, Henry Ⅷ.

  • my teacher played this slide in school the other day because we were learning about henry the eighth

  • at my skool talent show a kid did this song and everydone luvvd him and now hes popular and i ngot his autograph it was so funny

  • at my skool talent show a kid did this song and everydone luvvd him and now hes popular and i ngot his autograph it was so funny

  • at my skool talent show a kid did this song and everydone luvvd him and now hes popular and i ngot his autograph it was so funny

  • LOL.. I have a very funny thing to say. I just finish the project for the Renaissance time. So funny.

  • lol xD

  • sounds like they singing enery

  • perty cool^^

  • Very well done.. especially the history of Henry the VIII. I can honestly say that I didn't know all the wives names.. I only knew Anne Boleyn.

  • Catherine of Aragon, Anne Boleyn, Jane Seymour, Anne of Clevea, Katherine Howard, Katherine Parr. Divorced Beheaded Died Divorced Beheaded Survived Did you know the 2nd and 5th wifes were 1st cousins
  • Did you know the 2nd and 5th wifes were 1st cousins

Yes! I always wondered why Catherine married Hal when she was fully aware that he had her own cousin, Anne beheaded! Well, Catherine was very young, only 17.

  • I doubt she had much say in the matter. After all, very few married for love in those days. Building alliances meant everything, and her family must have jumped at the opportunity.

  • I didn't know. It'll be nice to have in my presentation at school next week.

  • lol

  • Herman's Hermits were really hot...

  • btw why is Anne Boleyn (executed) in red when all the other wives name and ending is red?

  • I think I put red for Anne Boleyn because of her really white chest (the red letters showed up better, I guess)

Other than that, no special reason

  • I would like to point out that Mary I made the church Catholic so it hasn't been protestant since Henry VIII created, it has been protestant since Elizabeth I restablished it.

  • I noticed that too, as I was looking for a version of the song to play as an intro for one of my lessons.

    n
