  • I could do that in my KIA....

  • Rockcrawling is more impressive

  • Land Rover is best! buy Land Rover!!! (Defender/Discovery/Freelander/RangeRover)

then are you one of the best people in world! and can Driv enywhear you want!!

  • Looks too pretty.

  • ooooh...look at this wreckless driver! insane!!! what the f***?! thats supposed to be "action driving"? looks like f***ing slow motion to me.

  • LR3 is a great tool, no other vehicle compares, I tow horse boxes , no contest. Look forward to the LR4

  • ONE OF THE FINESTACUALLY THE BEST

  • A truly awful vehicle, from a technical point of view the Disco makes a lot of sense, but it;s severely let down by its poor quality and readability...even the 2010. Absolute shit and not worth half of the asking price.

  • @RiiDDiiM you are a bitter little idiot

  • @peanuts2105 Why bitter? It's true. Reliability is awful.

  • @RiiDDiiM I know three people who have Disco 3's and one of them has the V8. No problems whatsoever; okay, they can be expensive to service and repair but they are expensive premium vehicles. I plan on purchasing a Disco in 2012 and I can't wait. No other car is so capable.

  • @peanuts2105 I still don't understand why i warranted being called a bitter idiot? The materials used in the Discovery suggest that attention to detail has been paramount: it feels classy and solid. However, Land Rover's reliability record has been less than illustrious in recent years, and there are still big question marks over how this Disco will fare in the long term. In the 2010 JD Power survey, owners rated its mechanical reliablity as below average.

  • @RiiDDiiM JD Power Survey is a joke. Stupid Americans who think that a Camero or a Cadillac is reliable needs to have their head examined. These cars are poor in every way. A new Vette I drove in the states refused to start and its diff leaked oil. CTS is made from plastic, the interior falls off and the engine is about as sophisticated as a food blender. Also this 'survey' rates the Subaru Legacy as 'average'; must remember that joke. LR3, 4 and RR are awesome pieces of engineering.Enough said

  • @peanuts2105 The JD power survey is far from a joke, The UK JD power survey is a reliable tool to use when purchasing a vehicle. From an engineering point of view the D4 is fantastic, but is let down by engine, transmission, mechanical and electrical problems. If i were to spend £40K+ on a vehicle I'd like to know it' was put together correctly. The Toyota Land Cruiser is the better vehicle in almost every way.

  • @peanuts2105 I think the UN and the UK JD power survey know better than a complete fucking moron such as yourself.

  • @RiiDDiiM lets use my dad's 2000 Dodge Dakota 4x4 sport as an example.

JD Power gave it a middle-low class rating for reliability.

hes driven it EVER day since 2000. im in canada to yes that means 4 months of ice cold snow and salt.

the truck has 340,000 KM on it (211,266 mi)

since 2000 hes kept every bill for repairs/service. besides the regular oil change ever so often, and tires, etc...

he ONLY spent (rounded up) 2500$ on repairs w/ service

    JD can kiss some ass

  • @CemetaryGatesML I suppose the JD power survey is just to give you a broad prospective of how car manufactures perform and to be honest there has to be an element of truth to it. I understand what you're saying but I know a few people that own either the Discovery the Range Rover Sport and the Range Rover and not one of them would describe owning them as a pleasurable experience as their constantly breaking down, and the problems aren't consistent either, they all suffer from multiple issues.

  • @peanuts2105 2012..........

  • @RiiDDiiM you gotta admit that JDpower BS is dumb ass shit.

their the reason why people think honda = reliable

in actuality, it all depends on the driver. idiots who know nothing about cars drive it to the point were it fails. a sqeeky ball join, sticky steering, poor throddle responce, spuddering engine, spongy brakes the list goes on...idiot ignore the signs then when the car breaks its " OH WHAT A PIECE OF SHIT!"

  • If you buy a car which isn't developed correctly and isn't fit for purpose how is that the drivers fault? Sticky steering and a jerky engine is something no Land Rover Discovery should suffer from, there's a difference between maintaining a vehicle (getting it serviced every 20,000/once a year) and the vehicle breaking down. I wouldn't touch a Land Rover, nice interior and impressive commercials showing it get up mountains but who gives a fuck if it's going to spend its life a garage?

  • @RiiDDiiM very true. if i owned a land rover i wouldent let it sit in my garage with 22" pimp rims. when the cars got insane potential. but at the same time. usualy when u see these land rovers fail, its far from avrage every day driving.

allot of people say, oh all i did was take a turn and the air ride system droped/failed. or the handeling feels sloopy/sticky...or the tranny slips.

but they dont mention the extreme years of trail ridding, or the craling they were doin the week before.

  • @CemetaryGatesML tbh i dont really see people actually using the lr4 for off-roading its just become too expensive for repairs and the outright cost to buy for anyone to comfortably want to offroad in

  • @NotARandomName lol yea because people are dumb...they piss money away and never use its potential... these newer land rovers are extreme vehicles capable of climbing a 60 degree rock wall and yet people dont take advantage of what they own. if ur gonna beat the sh*t out of the vehicle to the point were it brakes...then wtf are u doing bashing a 60K truck...but hell trail riding or very light rock crawling...i would do that in a range rover in a heart beat if i had one.

  • BACK TO THE MALL!!!!!!

  • action driving.... hardly lol

  • what is the name of this color?..is it ipenama sand?

  • Dam irish roads!

  • people who buy these take them off road cos they can affoed to and know its far better than any jeep or toyota

Landrover = best 4x4xfar thats why its a class leader and wins awards

  • @spliffthedog, LOL, Land Rovers are OK offroad, but they are not any better than a Jeep or a Toyota. Land Rover is way overrated offroad, but they do have somewhat decent ability. Still though, any decent Jeep or Toyota (4Runner, FJ Cruiser, etc..) would own the Land Rover offroad.

  • if toyota/jeep etc were better why dont they show it like landrover do landrover have experiance centres so you know what you are doing offroad i have never heard of jeep or toyota doing this

  • lol "get something thats made for it". ALL LAND ROVERS ARE MADE FOR FUCKING OFF ROAD! other wise the high suspention/ 4wd/ surface aids are all there for the hell of it. Land rover = best off road car company in the world. You can say any car but the land rover bowler wildcat will beat it.

  • @VincentSinclair you sound like a real redneck ;-))))))

  • I've had 3 Discos... never had a problem with them. Only took them in for their regular service and had a blast with them offroad.

  • I have it since one week, it is a beautiful and very good car

    Beautiful Landy!!!

  • perfect

  • Very good car between repairs.

  • @Pruzhina13 a clichee Land Rover joke from someone who's probably never driven one (not to mention the Discovery Mark IV). Don't believe everything you hear, at least not anymore. And if you get the chance, drive a Disco - you'll love it.

  • what engine is in that?

  • I have a 1998 Disco and the 2010 gets the exact same gas mileage. Whoever made this thing she be fired then shot.

  • and this one has a 5 litre engine and weights half a ton more

  • @spliffthedog, I don't think Toyota or Jeep need to do the whole offroad demonstration course. Land Rover does that to help them sell vehicles. It's really pointless though because Toyota & Jeep vehicles could easily do the same course without issues.

  • the reason landrover do it is because there cars are used off road and landrover would like them to know what they are doin while driving off road toyota and jeep know 90% of there cars stay on road so hence they dont teach you how to drive off road

  • @spliffthedog, keep dreaming. Land Rover sets up those courses so that they can make the fatasses who buy their vehicles feel good about their purchase. If a Land Rover couldn't go offroad, it would be 100% useless, so at least customers will know that they purchased it for some other reason besides driving to the gas station or repair shop.

  • landrover have been runing those courses for near on 60 years so your conclusion be wrong. Why is it that all you jeep/toyota lovers watch landrover videos is it because you secretly all want one but cant afford one.

  • @spliffthedog, they have the courses nearly as long as they've been selling them. How the fuck does that make my conclusion wrong? Are you retarded or something? The fact of the matter is that Land Rover's are overrated, overpriced SUVs that are no more capable than your basic 4Runner or Grand Cherokee. I could easily afford a Land Rover, but why would I piss my money away on a vehicle that is no better than a 4Runner, especially one that will break down every other day?

  • landrovers do not break down every other day that is just a few peoples like every other make you just hear more about it because they are a small volume manufacturer. Your wrong because you are taking a small number of people who by them most of the jeeps/toyotas sold here are to fat bastards who think they are better than everybody else hence why landrovers outsell jeeps and toyotas at least 2 to 1

  • @spliffthedog you are so right my land rover discovery works fine and i drive it everyday they just require more care

  • @spliffthedog you are so right my land rover discovery works fine and i drive it everyday they just require more care

  • @spliffthedog you are so right my land rover discovery works fine and i drive it everyday they just require more care

  • @EvenSteven2004

    Another victim who talks SHIT

Our 03 disco 2 V8 only goes to the dealer to get serviced , its no less reliable than any audi or bmw

  • @MrBeastandtheharlot, there's no such thing as a Discovery that doesn't break down on a regular basis. So quit lying and trying to convince us all that you own one that is reliable because everyone know that you're completely full of shit.

  • @EvenSteven2004

Think what u like, is all i have to say.

  • My dads got one :P

  • I can't afford a car like this.

  • to be honest that wasn't a very good demonstraition on how well it performs offroad it wasn't really off road it was just the kind of terrain you get in a woodland car park

  • Useless machine.

  • all land and range become to look alot like each other, of course they're from same family, but Land Rover Discovery looked differently in older model... for me from the front they look alot like Range Rover Sport..

  • @khmeraustrian they RRS was built off the LR3 platform

  • @khmeraustrian the discovery came out before the sport

  • I can do this shit with my V4 Prado 2004!!!

  • A Dodge Dakota could do all of that in 2 wheel drive, as good the Landrover. This video is overall simply a poor display of abilities.

  • This video was filmed as a deminstrator to what the car can do.

Also fiat(who ownz dodge) are going to discontinue the dakota becuase they arnt selling enough.

And usaly when people arnt buying a product, its usaly because its shit.

  • Did you even read what I said? I said the video is a poor display of the vehicle's abilities. I never said the Dakota was a stellar truck, nor did I say the Land Rover is a poor truck.

Feel free to continue arguing points that were never made, though.

  • my bad, srry=]

  • wow my 4.3 v-6 could do and has done all that....you call that offroad?

  • can your shit do it lookin just as nice? doubt it and this is off road you dont see tht dirt or somethin its not like this car is meant to be thrashed anyways

  • yeah my truck looks nice and recently took a trail like that with my tuck covered in Christmas lights

  • so these are the new lr's under tata motors?

  • Wow....I had no clue they totally redesigned and renamed this series of Land Rover. I want a luxury SUV thats not too big. I will definitely be getting the LR4. I liked the LR3 but wish it wasn't so plain looking. I LOVE the LR4 and redesigned front and interior. Good Job LR

  • 2pacsofcrisps perhaps its not needed to have a v8 for some, but its nice to have some power for towing and at 2.4 tons its no light weight, not to mention the new engine is more frugal than the old 4.4.

  • land rover is becoming american no fucking need for the 5 litre engine in an offroad vehicle

  • so the 6.4 V8 in a hummer applies to the same rules?

  • i test drove this and its amazing .its 240bhp 50 more than the disco 3 which makes big difference.the acceration is fab.0 to 60 in 9 sec. They are also so smoth on the road and handle like a car!Im buying the HSE within the next 10 days!

  • There are actually 3000 changes and modifications, I am a lr qualified instructor. It is as the lr3 and fantatsic vehicle and will go places on road tyres a defender needs mud tyres due to the phenomanal terrain response system. 70 odd different types of sand were used in the test tank to get the settings for sand right. In the Moab the instructors were asked by tricked up rock crawlers with lr3 which way they came? The reply was the same way as you in 'stock' vehicles!!

  • 4.4 was a Jaguar motor as well, not BMW.

  • i was in the disco4 the other day there an damn it is nice especially in rimmini red

  • the new lr4 has the same engine as the new range rover but it is not supercharged. its a 5.0 jaguar v8 with 375 horsepower compared to last years 4.4 liter bmw v8. it also has larger brakes and rotors reworked suspension and a few other things

  • ITS JUST A FACELIFT NOT A NEW CAR

Land Rover Would Of Been Better To Facelift The Disco 3(LR3) And Bring Out A New Engine Range

  • There is a new engine range, moron.

    Enlarged tdv6, 5.0 supercharged v8, all new.

And seeing as the exterior is changed, the interior is changed, and new engines, it's hugely changed, hence the name changed to Discovery 4.

    Go get your facts right!

  • fvck u tosser after seeing it in real life it's the same looking car new lights don't make it a new car. Facts don't mean shit if u have no evidence.

  • Plus the engine has been taken straight out the jag XF.

  • why the thumbs down 2 ur comment lol ur totally right the engine is out of the jaguar xf

  • you are correct. there is 30% more power out the diesel engine. slightly larger bore, and sequential turbo charger. The interior is redesigned and is amazing. new saftey features and upgrades to terrain response. Joewarcupinhill has no clue. its a whole NEW car. Look at the 0-100mph-0 of the new RRSport and tell me its the same.

  • of coarse i know what i'm on about. i work part time at land rover. If u think you know what your on about , Fact me, or crawl back up your own arse.

  • It should be called Discovery 3/LR3 Series II, not D4/LR4, IMO.

  • How much do you think this would cost? Also, when is it hitting dealers?

  • UK dealers get the car launched Sept 2009, cost is around £49K HSE, not sure lower models, so if you buy from stock around 250 built already then you could have a car around the end of Sept, but ordered cars more likely end of October 2009.

  • Did LR really need to change from LR3 to LR4?!

  • yea check on the lr website

  • is land rover loosing its essense. off roading with a land rover is great and driving one is sweet. the lr3 just needs a v8 from the start because sometimes you have a lag of responce withe the gas pedal and it doesnt move when you wanted it to.

  • I loved the Disco 2 series, hated the LR3 non-sleek brick-like look. I tried to like it, honest, but every time it was like "ugh". I think the nose job for the LR4 really had a big impact in getting rid of those ugly aspects of the LR3 aesthetics. : )

LR4 actually looks good. Although the LR3 really did set the bar low for looks.

  • I did not like the new fron grill and headlights from RRS. it also has Audi style park leds in the headlights which I was surprised to see on a British (used to be) design.

however, these will not affect my love on Discovery.

  • they should put the spare wheel on the back like they used to, or at least make it a factory option like on the vw touareg. makes it alot easier changing it

  • nene overland used to do this for the disco 3, you could then have 2 wheels mounted on the rear and one underneath useful for long trips offroad, think the Disco 4 will have this facility as the bumper section will adpt the same as underneath its the same car.

  • yeah there are alot of aftermarket ones here too for both one wheel and 2 so you can put a long range fuel tank where the spare wheel normally goes

  • Yes just had the techie chap at LR confirm that this is possible on Disco 4 same as the 3, the bumpers are different exterior, but fittings and chassis/bodyshell the same so no problems with D3 items carry across

  • does lr4 have the same engine as lr3

  • no new jaguar engines

  • the 2.7 TDV6 is still available, but onely in the low spec models.

  • @UPSXPRESS no, the LR4 gets a brand new engine for the 2010 year.

  • i still like the aesthetics of 2009 range rover better, maybe that's because i'm a girl

  • You dont buy a 3 ton truck that can pull 7,800 pounds for gas millage

With the New 5.0 V8 from the jags, i suspect gas millage will stay the same, or loss a MPG or two, you never know.

This is However ALOT more power, The Landy will be alot sportier!

  • Seeing as how the old V8 struggled with the heft, I think the 5.0 would bring an MPG decrease.

  • actually i believe it 5.0 v8 will give much better fuel economy since its a bigger engine, it should have less trouble moving the suvs mass and there for should give better mpg, also the engine will have the capability to turn off 4 valves when sitting idol or cruising, and the transmission is also built better, further increasing fuel economy! for instance look at the ford expedition engine which is a 5.4 engine and gives 14-20 and thats on the cheap fuel! the lr4 better not require premium!

  • Whoops. I said the wrong thing. But yep, it's going to be a bit more efficient then the old V8.

What worries me a bit more is how the rear looks a bit to.. one piece, and it feels a lot more like a station wagon.

  • imagine with v6

  • Actually it's 22.5 MPG. For the Supercharged model. Compared to BMW's 17 and Mercedes 19.

Also the diesel can offer upto 35MPG.

  • I can't imagine an LR4 with 22.5 MPG... more like 18-19.

  • well the LR experience chaps I saw the other day told me the TDV6 3 lt will return very good mpg and even the new v8 will do over 20mpg, although heavy right feet might reduce that I'm sure!

  • i dont think ther will be a TDV8 disco. im not sure. but the TDV6 will be board out to 3000cc and have twin turbos

  • sorry meant V8 petrol there, the Td will be v6 3lt, although from what I have seen of it now that is as fast as the present TDv8. The new petrol supercharge I'm looking forward to, looks like october before mine comes though.

  • The TDV8 is being enlarged to 4.0ltrs Very soon.

  • out May 2010?

  • yes the tdv6 engine which is a 2700 cc is good but has a small turbo good for off-road but when it comes to over taking its a bit short on tourque range. a bored out to 3000 would be great for everything.

  • As a LR3 owner looks like these changes have made the LR4 a almost perfect vehicle.

I would like to trade-in my LR3 for this :-)

Only shortcoming is how fast it does burn gasoline but... with a heavy car like this is not easy to sort this point...

  • they fixed everything i hated about my lr3 ahah

  • Wow!!! they took care of everything little thing I had wished was better on my LR3... Awesome job LR engineers!! the LR4 rocks..

  • Who would say that a little 4x4 vehicle 61 years ago will make a brand that is improving such as Land Rover.

    The best 4x4xfar

  • Oh my God the 2010 LR models are beautiful
