  • This demo sucks!! why would you even post this shameful video!??

  • a good tip would be to wedge ur clay.. instead of dealing with... giant. air bubbles

  • ....I hope this is a demonstration of how -not- to throw..o.0

  • wedge your clay better. and don't center that way.... you are putting air bubbles into your clay

  • omg im like better than dis dude lol and i sux! he needs to get all the air bubbles out before he starts wit a big wad of clay.

  • Thanks so much for sharing this video. It should be pointed out to beginners that this technique leaves a lot to be desired. While no one deserves the rude and ignorant comments that some viewers have chosen to share, it is clear that this person is not ready for this much clay. Take a lesson from this that one should gradually work their way up to larger and larger amounts of clay, but don't try to take on more until you are proficient with your current amount.

  • This is fuckin terrible.. My mom have 20+ years of professional potterymaking and this looks like something i couldve made....

  • instructor ha ha ha ha ha ha

  • he's teaching people? he needs to re-learnbasics before he should attempt to throw that much clay and teach people. please don't post this stuff cause your just confusing people who look these videos up to learn

  • I hope that by watching your own video you can learn, and correct some of the issues that you had. Because I can tell you from experience that there are much easier ways to accomplish what you are trying to do. You might start by spiral wedging your clay. With large amounts of clay try wedging smaller amounts and then assembling them on the wheel. also you may try throwing the top middle then bottom as opposed to one large pull. I wish you luck!

  • sry man but I can throw about as good he can and I'm a student.

  • no offense...but ive been taking pottery for about a semester now...

but this seems to be very bad technique...the pulls dont look very steady. all the ridges from the centering look like they throw off the balance when he/she is pulling up the walls.

  • That is pretty bad for an "instructor". I have only been throwing for a couple of months now and i think i could do better than that.

  • I may be talking out of turn here but it looks a very ugly way to throw a pot, I'm new to pottery so I may well be wrong but he seemed to have a lot of air bubbles in his clay and in the next video on from this I could swear the rim is thicker on one side too.

  • i would say to this 'pro potter'. please cut it in half so the world can see his/her ability. this is bad throwing !

  • I give lessons................

  • Novice potters. Ignore this video. Terrible technique. Poor pulls. I could go on and on.

  • i agree....

  • i have been throwing for like 4 years now and i think i might be a little bit better at pulling then him

  • If you keep working at some day you will be able to throw a pot.

  • how long have you been throwing

  • He is my instructor at a pottery studio. He might have been doing quite long. Maybe more than twenty years.

  • Looks like you should find a new instructor! His techniques are really bad, if he's teaching you to throw like he does...hmmm need I say more???
