As much as I can imagine being pissed about having my country invaded, I find it much easier to imagine being enraged by the torture and killing of my fellow men. Our soldiers are attacked and they're expected to act rationally all the time? I don't think that's in human nature. Now, do the goals in a conflict have anything to do with the conduct of the soldiers? If we'd been there to liberate the Iraqis for real, then these massacres would not have taken place. Problem was, Iraq was the enemy.

I'm a tree hugging liberal. However, when an attack launched against combatants of either side the immediate area, becomes a war zone. These individuals were in the wrong place at the wrong time. The neighborhood became a war zone due to the individuals who planted an IED. Any subsequent deaths are soley due to their hostile actions, they should take the blame for the deaths of their countrymen. I have sympathy for the casualties but I also have sympathy for the Marines who were attacked.

Iraq's Haditha is Vietnam's Mi Lai. So sad and senseless. This just goes beyond my comprehension. Woodrich or Woodridge knew what he was doing, the killing of the young men in the vehicle was a act of revenge nothing more. It could have been anybody in that car, women for example, and they would have been killed the same way. The way the bodies fell sure looks like an execution style killing.

Well, I did my time with RAR back in the peaceful late 70s. Never having been to war I cannot possibly know what it's like, I can only imagine it must be something like being in serios multi-casualty car accident...over and over again until your tour finishes.
Those of us that oppose the war have nothing but respect for the soldiers. I apologise if my remark conveyed anything else. I do not want any more of our best and bravest killed or maimed in this 'politician's' war . Take care all of you.
