All I can say is you can put out a great cd in honor of James Brown. He has more than enough great songs to draw from his recordings. Or mix his crew, Marva Whitney, Bobby Byrd, Lyn Collins, Hank Ballard, Vicki Anderson, Maceo Parker, Bootsy Collins, Fred Wesley, Tammi Terrell, and countless others. Be the first, if you don't someone else will. If you need to know others who have been part of the J.B. organization, I'll dig through my cds (over 10,000) to find others.
This was right on time. I was listening to the Godfather today. This is the best sample I have heard of James Brown. You need to put this out. Do a complete cd of his work or the many musicians and singers that came through his organization. Nice set, keep it funky. If I can help in anyway, give a hollar. I am a walking Encyclopedia in regards to r&b, soul, and other genres of music.
I would love to, not sure if I could keep up the pace in this clip tho - 12 tracks in 6 mins or so, so I'd be looking at 120 on a 60 min CD. It's be good tho. My next project is a mix of the Ultimate breaks and beats compilations, gonna try to cram in all 25 volumes into ideally an hour and a half...

Ah yeah, fuck, I remember that 'back of a lorry' gig.
That was a fat day, even if loads of my records did get warped in the back of me car...
happy times...
