when i saw this in game informer i was like "im definitely getting this!" but apparently there a bunch of idiots and gave us a terrible game instead of a great game, i officially hate ea now! (except for there older games, which are 10X more fun then there newest ones)
This game does look pretty damn good gameplay and graphics-wise, the only things I don't like are the fact that your gun jogs up and down when moving and the lack of a reticule. Sure, it's more realistic that way, but... I dunno, I guess it's something you'd hafta get used to after a while.

The game just didnt grab the player at all. The gun was way cool, it would transform from assualt to CQB to Support to RPG to sniper. The controls were configured really well and the graphics for the time were good. But none of that matters when you (The player) just doesn't have the motivation to continue playing.

@lewisvz I was just about to post this - why don't current games sound like this? The tech hasn't changed much in the meantime, file sizes and bandwidths have increased, the knowledge can hardly be forgotten either... Sure Bad Company and Crysis 2 have good sound design but the sense of "clarity" in this footage is amazing. You can make out all of the different sources, everything just falls into place nicely. Check out 3:33, how the mechs become louder and deeper when the player gets close.

I was so pumped for this game. I was scouring the web for every single gameplay detail, and the more I learned, the more excited for this game I became.
Funny how C&C4 induced the exact opposite reaction. I was stoked when I saw the first trailer, but when I started learning about gameplay details and seeing the unit and environment designs, I was like "WTF!?"
@ButtersStotch7000 same engine as Red Alert 3. which means that they didn't NOT Do anything to make the game like it should have been. Tiberium Era was always better looking than red Alert, cuz red alert was to look like that.

Well sense this project required tons of money, they first thought that the sales wouldnt be as high, so why put in the money if your not getting any return, they actually originally thought about putting final touches to this after command and conquer 4.
ultimately it probably wouldn't have been very good. im sure this was in development phase still but just the way the character moves, takes cover, shoots the gun all look sub par.

I was so pumped for this game. I was scouring the web for every single gameplay detail, and the more I learned, the more excited for this game I became.
Funny how C&C4 induced the exact opposite reaction. I was stoked when I saw the first trailer, but when I started learning about gameplay details and seeing the unit and environment designs, I was like "WTF!?"

@ButtersStotch7000 same engine as Red Alert 3. which means that they didn't NOT Do anything to make the game like it should have been. Tiberium Era was always better looking than red Alert, cuz red alert was to look like that.

@nerodryt tbh this game was probably terrible. Its nothing like renegade, and the original studio (Westwood) who made all the good command and conquers were already long gone by the time this game was being made. It would've just been shit like all the other recent c&c's out right now

Well sense this project required tons of money, they first thought that the sales wouldnt be as high, so why put in the money if your not getting any return, they actually originally thought about putting final touches to this after command and conquer 4.

ultimately it probably wouldn't have been very good. im sure this was in development phase still but just the way the character moves, takes cover, shoots the gun all look sub par.

I can't believe this got cancelled for "quality issues". People were thrilled when this was announced.
However, CnC4 is looking worse and worse with every preview, and EA is forging ahead with development.

They say the game was canceled because they weren't able to meet their quality expectations... Those must have been some serious exceptions since the beta looks hella good. Well, lets just hope C&C 4 meets our expectations.

Too bad, if they continued doing this game then EA may have even gained some respect from EA haters. But cancelling it has basically just made people care less about EA.
Too bad everything revolves around making a profit now. otherwise I think this would have been a great game.

i personly would have enjoyed a game focusing from the point of view from a zone trooper/raider, and a god story. I would bee trilled if they made a game focusing on firestorm and then one on the tiberium war and then making them co exist with renegade.

well, only 3% of the games made make profit over their expenses, and while the tiberium was on the works there was already fallout 3, crysis, and other games, maybe after those games lose popylarity they will make it.
