  • I've got many recordings by great cornet players trying Satchmo's style, and the superb "50 Hot Choruses" series by Mr Persson has to be my favorite of them all. I just would love that he would a whole album just in duet with a piano player, like this gem!

  • I agree. It is fantastic to hear the Louis solos played by Bent. He sounds so close to Louis' playing in the 1920's. I have 3 lp's on the Kenneth label devoted to this project. Was there a 4th? I only have 3.

  • I have the Kenneth lp's of the 50 Hot Chorusses and the 1st cd. Those Kenneth lp's are very hard to find now. My favorite recording is Angry. Louis never recorded it and I like his improvisation on it. I just wish one of the original cylinders had survived.

  • Even though the original cylinders didn't survive isn't it fantastic so have this Swedish Jazzman Bent who spent quite a few years to recreate that music.

  • The master himself!! Bent's playing is incredible and his 50 Hot Chorusses are most definitely getting on the "Kenneth" label. Thank you for introducing this talent to me Bob. From his early days he has produced some wonderful music.
