I remember that day like it is now I used to live with the NPTT team behind the hospital the ac jump of from the wall on my friend all the soldier went down the stairs including me most of the were wearing underwear pants then the chapers came and lighted the truck up we were hit about 25 missile
@MrAmericanEgle yes it was a day never to forget.....lost the KBR guy on one of those blast from those IRAM's. Gas bottles full of ball bearing and explosives.
WOW i have never read any comments wow so cool to see so many people know this place . It was by far a scary place. My email is colin702000@gmail.com if anyone has any direct questions or comments to send to me. Thanks everyone!
I was there when that happened. I remember the Cobra COP got hit at the same time. Those rockets had the tanks with the ball bearings on it, blew the doors and windows out on the 1-8 CAV BN HQ building... no KIA thank God. Just when we thought we could start to relax. I remember the SIGACTs had slowed down from 20 a day to 3 a month.
is this the day in the morning they launched mortars from inside the flatbed cause aco 2 platoon was right outside the walls and my unit was otw too cop cajimat
Oh my god! I was there!!! I just sitting from you around 20-30m next to the laundry in the bunker! The KBR laundry that is destroyed totally in this time!
Cool! I remember we just sitting and the rockets just arrived and arrived!
Thanks!
Thanks again!
I was a civilian worker! Are you one of the LSI guys?
Thanks for the video. It's nice to see it from a different view. I was in Gun 2 of those Apaches. For your info it was "Big Guns" and we used Hellfire and 30mm. Stay safe
ya not too bad...I was there in 2005-2006 and we got a few days with about 30-40 incoming rounds...everything from the little mortars to the new 200mm rockets they'd slam a few meters from the walls.
man i was in rusti that day. the loudest shit i ever heard. i was in the bunker in the back of kbr village when they blew up the laundry. the vid from aerostat was funny as shit. luckily no one was killed
I remember that happening all the time at rustamiyah wehn i was there in 2006. did alot of interdiction for indirect fire but only mannaged to capture the used launchers. good to see that those guys are getting whats coming to them.
We were shooting at those bastards from the top of our barracks one night when they decided to set up tubes on the other side of the wall. Of course this was over on the Iraqi side of the base, not the coalition side
Fantastic! I remember getting wave after wave of rockets and mortars and I love those Apaches! I love knowing that finally they are nabbing some of those a-holes that launched at us.
Damn this video made my day. I was in Rustamiyah in 2006... we used to recieve incoming rockets almost every day during late summer, but we never heard of anyone taking out any of the rocket or motar crews. We knew they were firing right outside the T-walls 'cause you would often hear the thump of the motar rounds leaving the tube... great video!
hey I was there for that one lol
