  • i had an idea just like that i hoped it didnt existed :P well darn it !!

  • This is really incredible, but one has to wonder how fast would you get sick of the spinning around you? Wake up one morning and scream toward the windows, "Make it stop!"

  • Why should this vídeo come up under the name of Picasso´s print collection titled Suite Vollard! Rather annoying.

  • Fantastic!

  • How about not rotating, and with the money you save, well give it to someone that has no future otherwise!

  • there is already a rotatable building built in dubai or will be? anyone knows?

  • @LLapjane87 there is one (the only one right now) and it is in Curitiba, Brazil, but apparently they had some problems and it doesn't rotate properly, but it has the machines and all the rest, the one in Dubai is still on paper..

  • well why would they have the deck stay still that ruins the privacy for all the people using it

  • from the sound of the comments, FAIL!

  • Great! Now you get to tuck and roll to go outside!

  • no entiendo como haces para salir a la terraza a tomar 10 segundos de aire.. y cuando queres volver por dond saliste como haces?? tenes q esperar q de una vuelta? jajaja o empezas a correr hasta alcanzar la puerta jaja?

  • The future is now.

  • Since its inauguration live by the Contractor, in November 2004, the first rotating building in the world, the Suite Vollard, remains empty. A contributory factor at the time was the price of units: U.S. $ 300 thousand or just over U.S. $ 800 mil

  • spaces are too thinn,, too small

  • this tower is in brazil people. what do u think about visit ?

  • not bad you dont have to walk around to see the view - just sit right back and let the view entertained you while sipping your favorite drink

  • If I had money... I would buy one... :-(

    Modern, interesting, from the future...

  • I live in this city, Curitiba, Brazil

  • I love the idea of dynamic buildings, but the rotation of the floors could pose some risks of motion sickness - no?

  • No xceedchaos... the entire flat rotates, and it is in a slow motion, you don't feel it.

There's a tower like that in Brazil, Curitiba.

  • Wow! There's a tower like this in Brazil already?

    I must visit.

  • looks like magnetic prepulsion to me, and i thought the us government declined the russian dudes invention, but they seem to be using it.

  • I thought Allah created the jews Himself and has some rather nasty doings in store for them. Aren't you worried He'll be ticked off if you fuck up His plans by killing them off early?

  • no matter what any of u people tht say these anrt real they are and i went to see one (if your thing yea yea then your wrong they are in curitiba brazil) its only the outside ring othe house that moves it has a center bit where your kitchen is that doesnt move there really really cool and is a must see if you evr get the chance

  • tudo lá roda rsrs rs...

  • Also, beaugrandrole once you're done spouting conspiracy theories move to Curitiba,Brazil to see a building like this up close already built since December 16th, 2004

  • what are you even talking about beaugrandrole? you ruin your credibility when you just decide to blame Zionists and then sy notihing else.

  • im doing architecture for collage if anyone else is doing it i have two clear question (i) is it worth it (ii) how and why?

  • i am an architect strider06..it is not worth anything... this building is no sustainable architecture.. the only thing it does is keeping your energy bil high..

  • your an architect..is it worth doing it? and what are the ups and down of being one?

  • Uh where dude... NOT ONE project is complete. It WILL be cool!

  • There is three restaurants in the City of Vancouver Canada that do this same thing and they have been around forever!

  • Actually , this is a concept where EVERY FLOOR of the building can rotate. Not just like a restaurant or shop at the top of some buildings we have all over the world now

  • using the same technology no?

  • NO, Completely different Technology, Google "Dynamic Architecture" this concept uses Solar and Wind Power for its energy to move. Also... the actual "sliding" technology for the actual floors to turn is not done with chains or pull system. They use magnets.. etc.... PLEASE READ the INFO AT TOP RIGHT (Expand it.... then look up Dynamic Architecture... This is saves so much space and energy from the old "rotating restaurant's" we are used to.

  • Well you have me convinced, sounds rad, ill check it out!

  • So that is still cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • has it been constructed yet? how big is the actual apartment? and is that how the finished product, and the surroundings, will actually look, like in 2:47 ?

  • The restaurant in the Space Needle in Seattle, WA., has been doing this since the '60s. I believe it completes one full rotation per hour giving diners a full panoramic view of Seattle. Frankly, it made me a bit nauseus and I haven't eaten there since.

  • Aesthetics without function is meaningless. What functional purpose does a rotating building serve besides making you partially dizzy?

  • I'm interested in knowing the maximum rate of energy transformation permitted by the structure.

That is to say, 1J of energy transformed toward this purely aesthetic function would be a complete waste.

  • This is one of the most thoughtless ways to expend energy.

  • To speak of waste. You are wasting energy if you´re watching youtube videos. In fact we all consumpt energy just by breathing which is, as a matter of fact total waste since the universe will collapse in in some billion years. It´s more about what you make of (your) energy. And beauty isn´t as much wasting energy as complaining.

To speak of wasting energy you should at least knopw where this energy come from.

    Egon

  • No, the sun will expand and engulf the earth in 5 billion years, but the universe is expanding at an increasing rate so collapse is not a realistic prediction.

  • sorry my mistake, just a picture of speak.

  • there are going to be turbines inside that create more than enough energy to rotate the building so technically it's creating energy not wasting it. :P

  • Yes, it exists. Its a really original idea. I live in Curitiba, near this building, its very beautiful and exciting.

  • great!!!!!

  • i bet people get tired of the spinning really quickly plus it will take an hour to turn.

it's like when you get a pool and you're really excited or some exercise equipment, and you never wind up using them. then, there will be others upset that they would really want to live in a spinning building while people inside are taking it for granted and not spinning enough. no place like brazil for the rich to show the majority of the country what they should not even contemplate fantasizing about.

  • Jealous much?

    -jcr

  • hmm. i guess you missed the point.

  • No, I got your point. You disapprove, and you're in a snit because your approval is neither sought nor required.

    -jcr

  • ok now think a little theres no notice of this idea.. great idea... still an idea of being built and a normal building takes at least 5 years now a spinning tower i would say takes at least like 10 so 2018 it is if they start... and another quiestion say the elevator is inside te tower in the middle... so everytime you wanna use it you have to wait for it...

  • no see, one of the perks of this building, is that it doesn't take as long to make, you would have to watch some other videos for the info, but your right, i don't know how they would do elevators.

  • but it already exists in Curitba!!

  • This idea is gonna be already built in Moscow and Dubai in 2012.

  • Exactly, this guy is showcasing it.

  • Sorry little friend, but this idea is ours! this building aldready existis in Curitiba, Brazil.

  • Hell of an idea, but its just that, an idea. I doubt if it will work, though personally, I hope it does. Theres a lot of hard work going into this thing.

  • nice. the crazy/creative future ain't too far away.

  • MOTION SICKNESS!!!!

  • for serious...plus things like sunlight...I like it when my lighting stays the same and/or changes very slowly (i.e. sunset), but having something changing what quickly would really quickly put me in a very pissy mood. Cool idea and all, but I would not want to live in it, however i would like to give it a try.

  • its a beautiful design, but questionnable if its actually needed.

  • why would you have it spin?

  • After watching this video, I am reminded of a quote from one of my favorite movies of all time: "Yeah, but your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn't stop to think if they should." - Jurassic Park As with many 'firsts' (The Titanic) some will get very rich, while many will sadly perish. In a fire, people will trip over their Mercedes parked in their garage room?!? I'm a Mechanical Engineer and you could not pay me enough to live in that death trap! =(

  • i doubt it will spin that fast, and i hope they use solar to power this shit

  • there are wind turbines in between each floor which will supply power, they'll probably add solar panels to the building too. and your right, it won't spin that fast. i don't think the majority of the rotation of the building is engine powered.

  • I'd get dizzy...lol!

  • nice animated

  • fugly

  • That's amazing... Sugoi!
