take a look. it doesn't come close enough to the wedge to catch your arm. but why don't you open up the side or downstream to make it more efficient. less effort than reaching over and into? I've thot of doing the same thing, but not enough ambition, I guess.

Hi all, Clarence was my father. The video was done in 1988. Last November at the age of 86 he passed away and he had both of his hands and arms. He was quite the inventor. I hope you all enjoyed the video.

I admire your ingenuity clarence with doing with what you have, but that rig would be better sold for scrap and use what you can get for a start on a decent splitter. Not having someone close enough to keep that child out of harms way just gives me the shivers. they can move so quickly and they are so curious.

I'll wager Clarence is now known as Armless Clarence! The scary part is waiting to see if that little kid was going to walk up and poke his hand in the spinning spoked wheel, or the open flat belt. That thing would be written up in every OSHA book in the world as the most dangerous piece of equipment ever put together by a fool with a total disregard for life and limb.

Are you fucking idiots???? All machines are scary if you don't know how to use them even cars for petes sake!! All you have to do with this machine is keep your hands on the back side of the blade when the press begins to come back.

and when the wood coming through the splitter crushes your hand your hand, just use your other hand.

Are you not paying attention?? You can clearly see that the press never touches the blade, it only comes to about 3 inches from the blade, I feel leaving just enough room for a wrist, and if not enough, just room enough that it doesn't slice it off, maybe only crushes it. You can see ol'Clarence isn't scared!!
