there is no computer so theres no chips.

98.5+ is 24 valve electronic injection

the best thing for your 97 is turn up the fuel pump, exhaust and intake, then injectors and bigger pump, then your into turbos for 400 + hp.

u can make 400 on stock turbo tho.

@454sskilla You cant buy a chip for a 97. Turn up the pump and grind the fuel plate for starters.

@454sskilla Turn up the pump, grind down the fuel plate and get a 3200 governer spring kit. You can get a 4k spring kit to but runnin that engine at 4k is goin to kill it if you aint carefull.

@454sskilla you can pull the vacuume hose off the wastegate... but its really sketchy cuz u run the risk of having your your turbo grenade.

cosmo0203 has the right idea with the tuner... but if you want good mods unfortunately you are going to pay some good money.

@454sskilla remove the fuel plate and open the afc all the way, remove the turbo silencer ring, remove the muff, and put a good intake on it (afe) you can get around 230 hp at the wheels like that. egts are going to get toasty if you dont lose the muff,i have a turn down on mine sounds amazing and is alot cheaper than buying an after market "high flow" exhaust. good luck with (i recommend the #100 fuel plate. nice and linear power response. everything together will cost about $100 :D
