  • So what are we supposed to do about Wi-Fi extension for those of us who have routers without antennas?

  • Very good +30% of signal boost in my home :)

  • But how do I use it when my router has no antenna ?

  • I want this video on my KF311 unit.

  • Good and many thanks...

    w w w . yahoo-checker . t k

  • most annoying presenters but good tutorial

  • guy's i just made one spent alot of time on it alot of foil and made it storng stiff and it works great from down stairs i used to get 27 dp now i get 45 to 50 dp try it out

  • I don't have an antenna on mine? what can I do?

  • Why is aluminium so costly?? --- <<because 2,423,093 people used it to make this thing!

  • yeah it does but only one bar!

    anyway thanks

  • I used larger pieces, and a computer up one floor & across three rooms increased in signal strength from good, to very good, to excellent. @'madsativa': you dont need a template

  • Worked pretty well actually. Increased the signal I was getting by roughly 15%. My router doesnt have antennas, and since my computer is right above where my router is, I just sorta made a dish and put it below the router, so essentially it directs all the signal straight up.

  • What if my router does not have external antenna??

  • This video is popular on Belgium

  • I made one for each of my Router's antennas and everything became better. Signal, Range and stability. but then i took an arrow to the knee.

  • Yep patrick norton yea still have my ZDTV cap! Koo

  • Weren't you on ZDTV?..

  • lol the template came out smaller on mine

  • People that are trying to watch this probably can't load this video so basically... You could go out and buy something to direct the wifi in one direction and it will cost around £50 but you could do the same but simpler by just:

    1) getting something reflective like tinfoil.

    2) putting a curve on it (to turn it in a direction you could stick it to paper to help keep it bent)

    3) put two holes on it so put on the antenna ( if you have no antennas, good! just pop it on top of the router)

  • Why do you need the exact template? Wouldn't a normal plain aluminum parabola work?

  • i made it within 3 minutes it really works

  • This guy is so macho, he can throw an empty box and a glue stick he can't open.

    Thanks for the tip. ;)

  • WHO LIKES VAGINA???

  • PLZ help i need to extend my wifi 4 my ps3 but it does not have antena (Modem)

  • "So if my neighbour kept jumping on my WiFi I could direct it away so he couldn't use it." Or you could get a password...

  • @bbrown4261 thanks lol :)

  • Thanks lol :)

  • the part on the windsurfer with the letters is supposed to point at ur computer right?

  • the guy on the left is a creeper

  • Does the antenna you suggested as an alternative to your wifi extender also work with the wifi extender?

  • how to know if it imprived the internet signal? im using windows 7

  • does this increase my bandwidth ?

  • @ghiblifan1 nobody needs criticism and everybody has their way of doing things, so don't say one person does something wrong because that might be the way they were raised. You're being a douche.

  • @TheUpcomingSkater - thumbs up on the douche part... lol

  • I don't have a rawter. Just a rooter.

  • @aristarhos2

Yeah, the way Americans pronounce router is annoying. We brits say "rooter", and that is right... it is, after all, our language, so we get the final word. "Rowter" sounds awful... and the way they pronounce "route" is also bad.

  • @GhibliFan1 Wow! I'm from the USA and I never even fathomed a pronunciation other than "row-ter," I've only heard the one pronunciation my whole life! Come to think of it, I didn't hear anyone say it as "rooter" on "The IT Crowd," but perhaps it sounded so weird to my yankee ears that just didn't process it. Actually, here in the USA, some people say "rowt" for route, some people say root. Depends on what part of the country you're from.

  • @GhibliFan1 - stfu you're an idiot.

  • Comment removed

  • @GhibliFan1 Actually I am british and the majority say Rawter (Router) So shut the fuck up right there.

  • @VekkUK

You know, the hastily set up Youtube account and "UK" in the name is fooling no one. Even were it not for that, say "rawter" in the UK and people would look at you as if you had two heads. I've worked in an independent computer store for five years, and another two in a PC World at the other end of the country... and no one ever (other than Americans) asked for a "rawter", and neither did any other staff or other company reps use that pronunciation. Sussed!

  • @VekkUK

There are a good many review of routers right here on youtube and many are from us Brits, here's one for starters.

    watch?v=JMtdvkj2ufQ&feature=relmfu

Now, find me one... just a single *ONE* with a British person calling it a "rawter". Should be easy since the "majority" call it that (according to you). There's your challenge for the day. Then you can go back to feigning being British on the internet. Or you could get a life... up to you really.

  • @GhibliFan1 You sound upset. To start off my account was made before I found you. I guess you never heard of having "Alternative accounts" because you know we all want to keep organized. I am sure you're tiny brain can understand what organized means since you "worked" at an independent computer store even though being a shelf filler doesn't mean shit. Not to mention working at a store doesn't mean you know language.

By the way VekkUK is the name of my game servers. Soon to be US and AUS soon.

  • @VekkUK

There's a big gap between a shelf filler and an assistant manager. And I have qualifications in both English literature and language... not that I need it, as being English is qualification enough to be considered an authority on how we speak. I note you said "I'm British", when we'd likely have said " I'm English/Scots/Welsh". I also see you never found a single case of an English person pronouncing router as "rowter", even though the "majority" use that pronunciation. GTFO!

  • @GhibliFan1 I am sorry but I don't spend my time asking a whole nation of people how they pronounce a word. I am too busy keeping people happy while earning money off my servers. By the way English is just a universal name for British, Scottish, Welsh. Prove me wrong.

And well done for knowing the gap between assistant manager and shelf filler. Overall the fact you worked in a store does not mean you know how the world pronounce things. Passing English does not mean you created the language.

  • @aristarhos2 lmao wtf is a rooter?

  • I have a netgear router sooo......

  • what a about geting better wifi on a laptop?

  • You can also use this on a wireless usb network adapter if your router doesn't have an antenna but your adapter does. I do this for my desktop pc. I use a usb extension cable for the adapter instead of plugging it in directly to my case so I can position it in a better spot which greatly improves the signal by itself. Add the wifi extender and I can boost my signal by 20+ dba.

Remember, when it comes to the wifi extender bigger is better! Try making a HUGE one and see how much it improves!

  • i made 2, they took so long. Then i noticed my router has no antennas....

  • @mickhick95 LOOOL

  • @mickhick95 yeh same here:(

  • @mickhick95 You don't need antennas, the wifi signal will emit antennas or not.

  • @mickhick95 u mad?

  • lol HD DVD FTW

  • my wifi dosent have an antena

  • @dialga09 then the case of your router is the antena!

  • @adyrulesthe666

    :0 oooOOOO000hhhh.... thnks

  • @dialga09 if you use tin foil to boost the signal of the wifi just put it so it reflects towards where you need it :)

  • Comment removed

  • can this antenna be used 2 increase cell reception??? :\

  • stealthygaming com

  • This really works! It more than doubled my internet speed. :)

  • thats cool but my wi fi doesnt come with the removeable antennas it doesnt even have any antennas at all. how do i make an extension>?

  • I dont have an antenna :(

  • @kortezez

just make 1 and place it behind ur router, make sure u make it slightly bigger then ur router. it will work. works 4 me

  • what programm is "Find Wireless Networks" ?

  • I Love it!!! It works GREAT!!!! Thank!!

  • This video is really exciting:)

See some of the best homemade inventions at wwwMyZumBee com

  • you guys are funny

  • @tech78611 /watch?v=odTeqBOkUdA

well , try this , it workd for my ps3 and pc :D

  • /watch?v=odTeqBOkUdA

well , try this , it workd for my ps3 and pc :D

  • the guy that can't handle the glue is and idiot.

  • yo my router doesnt have antenna

  • @rage10194 Same

  • @rage10194 same :D

  • YES. No matter how far mankind will go, you'll still be able to SCREW with them, using basic household crap. Pity terrorists are the only ones who figured it out...

  • I love it. Cheap, easy, simple to make....Great!!!!!

  • My router doesn't have an antenna either. I just took a generous amount of foil, folded it so it was the width of my router, and about 2 inches higher. Then I made small slots to fit in between the wires in the back to hold it up. Works perfectly and all I used was foil!

  • ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS PUT THE ROUTER AT A HIGHER POINT

  • Thx

  • works better than anything

    watch?v=odTeqBOkUdA

    works great

    it made my life

  • ugh i can't watch the whole video because my wifi signal is too low!

  • i already made it... but i covered the whole board with foil and it double up the wifi signal... thanx for this info... save a lot!!!

  • Added to router but signal still drops in the brick covered den. How do I add one to the receiving end if my laptop's router is built in? (no antenna)? Do I just make another (giant) parabol and put behind the laptop?

  • If it doesint have an antenna just make the booster bigger and put it on the router:)

  • put a in the hole!

  • Most excellent!

  • works well with me.. It boosted about 4-5x. Even tried it on the receiving end. Dont know whats up with those nincompoops.

  • What if your router does not have an antenna? :(

  • My router does not have an antenna :(

  • @eilishxxx98 bought a new 1

  • @eilishxxx98 buy a new 1

  • Yeah, do it on the reciever as well and it will be awesome.

  • will this work on the receiving end to

  • @ROCKNTV1 And? Did it work? If it did ill try it too! :)

  • This didnt work at all. My ps3 is at the other end of my 1 story house and it only gets like 15 percent signal at best. Very frusterating.

  • doesn't work for me. =(

  • works alright its not a crazy increase and ugly as fuck!

  • "RAOUTER"?? American's came from England, so why the fuck can't you speak English!?

  • Does thus really work?

  • Worked great

  • I foiled my hole house and when I turned my router on exploded my laptop! Thnx a lot! ;)

  • @leoinggeo lol thats what you get for using that much foil.

  • my wifi adapter has 1000' range...and it still needs a boost...HAAHaHAHAH. hopefully i can pick up burger king from my house

  • Respond to this video...

  • @ferraoneves

I responded to your mom's ass

  • You just ruined my business you bastards!

  • im looking the problem im out5 of foil lol f have to wait till 2maro any way got n wireless want a boost when a ipod is on my pc gaming goes to hell so any sug

  • I gt that same one

  • what size compatibility?

    reply faster

  • I Actually Tried this today! My signal strength Originally was 40-50 signal and now its at a constant 70 so increase signal of about 30% for me not bad considering it only takes 5 minutes although a CD case rapped in tin foil and placed behind the wireless increased by 20% for you really lazy/cheap people.

  • Which side of aluminum foil should I use? There's the polished side and the dull side.

  • @puttio30 I don't think it really matters.

  • Decibels? Don't you mean Megahertz?

  • @ferretyluv Hertz is the frequency, the strength is measured in decibels

  • i coverd my head in aluminum foil and i have people talking in my head.

  • great stuff but we do it better

  • wtf my name is magnus as well

  • I used it for my blu ray player and it worked great!!

  • you tube and

    /watch?v=th2QKdyA9K4

    easy and working!!!

  • holy crap what a difference, at first i had 18Mbps , moved my router around and couldnt get any better than 24Mbps added this thing and im at 36Mbps and my ping test are much better and more consistent

  • i covered my house in aluminum foil will i recive transmions from space

  • @happybunnies182 LOL, I COATED MY BATHTUB IN FOIL AND PUT MY ROUTER IN IT

  • @happybunnies182 then you would create the Faraday cage, which would block the wifi signal :P you wouldn't be able to receive network from outside

  • Thx it worked

  • was that Samus?

    replays

    Yes, that was Samus!

  • @Markykash17yo or you could just install a password on your router...?

  • Oh my god this actually worked.

  • I have a wireless Roku Box for my Netflix streaming television. My signal was terrible and it would take forever to download the programming. I built this silly contraption and now my signal is great! I tested the signal strength with my laptop and it has gone from "poor" to "very good". Go figure! Thanks guys!

  • What if my router doesn't have an antenna :(

  • My WiFi is abit hit and miss sometimes 30% sometimes 70 depending on what mood my router is in, I may give this a try

  • if i have 5 bars do i need to worry about this :O it says 65 Mbps

  • @BrianG8 Does it have to be aluminum foil or can i use aluminum foil tape or just as long is aluminum foil based?

  • i like violating warranties haha

  • its pronounced ALOO MIN IUM

  • @nessnes64 haha olny if you are in the UK

  • @AALMONDJ0Y or australia

  • This really works, I use to get one bar with my computer and now I get four.

  • Will it boost my desktop wallpaper?

  • @slayerzing2 What???????????

  • @alewisgb look up marty chang computer tips lol

  • What is "aloominim"

There is no such word in the dictionary.

"Aloominim" looks a bit like tin foil or aluminium foil.

Aloominim foil seams to be a baned substance in my country.

  • @MarkAJAgi Perhaps, but in my country, "aluminum" is in the dictionary. But on to another point, how can a substance be "baned"? The base word "bane" is a noun; the suffix -ed shouldn't work with it. I've never heard of a past tense noun here in the good ol' US of A.

  • @halofreak2121 its BAN ed ... u know

  • @platonicx The past tense form of the word "ban" is "banned".

  • @halofreak2121 Well said my friend!

  • i have the WRT54g2 v1 with the antenna buit-in will this still work???

  • holy shit. i'm gonna boost EVERYTHING with tinfoil now. i'm convinced that aluminum will bring us world peace. YAY!

  • I see this idea and have adapted it.. i have the same Linksys router as you and took the idea of using 2 'Windsuffers' and combining them into one, initaily you said the bigger the template the more signal boost you will have, therefore, updating the wind suffer to a template that is twice as big and fits on both.. or one antenna. i have had a great increase in signal performance from around 2/5 bars to 4/5 / 5/5 bars.. i will enventially make a video response to this video (Y)

  • hi there i have a few routers that the phone companys that ive been with sent me and i always end up terminating my contract do to bullshit fees. my question is. is it possible to use one of those routers as a wireless recever? i get what im trying to ask its hard to explain this over comments. thanks

  • wat if i have an internal antenna?

  • fuck you are mother kiss my dick

  • mother fuck

  • works too Fery good

  • can i use this antenna to boost an rc car signal strenght?

  • @SCSpictures no, why would you need that? what kind of car?

  • Internal antenna?

  • why it doesnt work for me,i made it correctly

  • @3Runner95SRB

    NO YOU DID NOT

    YOU NEED THE

    NOT SHINY SIDE

of the tin foil to POINT WHERE THE SIGNAL SOULD GO

i had the same problem XBOX LIVE COD GAMER

  • Comment removed

  • I just tried this and it worked quite well. I have my desktop pc and wireless router in an extra bedroom and had a problem with the WIFI signal reaching to all areas of the adjoining living room. Now the signal goes through the wall into the living room, through the kitchen behind the living room, through another wall into the master bedroom, through another wall and two walk-in closets behind the bedroom and into a back den. 120ft on a straight line. Signal drops off near the back of den.

  • I wonder, how the HELL would you improve the signal on a router that doesn't have an external antenna? I'm talking about the 2wire Homeportal 1000hw, which apparently has 3 internal antennas connected to the MB. Don't ask me why, it doesn't belong to me and I never installed it. But I'm forced to live with it. I get no reception in my room and I need to figure this out. Anybody have any advice? Thanks!

  • @aimson make one giant reflective parabola and put it behind the router

  • ugh this isnt even work for me

  • It works, I've built a dozen or so of these over the last few years. There awesome!

  • so if i just covered my ceiling fan in aluminum foil, it would reflect it to my laptop?

  • @ScienceFriday22 yes, if the router is below the fan and the wifi module is below the fan

  • ya awsome i did the same kinda thing but mine way just a bit of foled tin foil ROLF nive vid btw loved it and 150 ppl dont no wtf they are thinking as 150 thumbs down lol

  • you are f@gs get a life

  • WOOOOOOOOOOOW

    IT DIDNT FUCKING WORK
