If you would love to see a live outdoor play there's one in Drumheller, Alberta, Canada. Check it out! It's called "The Canadian Badlands Passion Play". I took my wife and parents there this year and it was phenomenal!
Hell yeah, "Jesus of Nazareth" is the best Jesus movie ever! I personally love his interpretation of Jesus. Very powerful characterization. I think everyone should see it. As for The Passion, I also agree with you and rank it right up there. I think it was a very accurate. From what I learned from my father who has a degree in Theology (I need to read the Bible more myself though, lol), He was unrecognizable after the event, so I personally dont think Gibson went overboard. Thats just me though.
@Kyousuke687 Agreed, "Jesus of Nazareth" is probably (I think by far) the best Jesus movie. I think a little artistic licence was taken with several aspects, but it was done reverently and it seems to work out quite well.
Of course it was filmed as a mini-series - all six hours of it - so a lot is cut from the film version.

Gibson's 'The Passion of the Christ' is a sadomasochistic homo erotic epic, with a good dose of antisemitism thrown in for good measure.

Was Jesus in the South Park movie? Because that would be my favourite.

The BBC also did a movie from the gospel of John. It's pretty good too. almost all words spoken directly from the text.

Matthew is my favourite movie. It's word for word.

@Canlander7 I like that one too. A friend of mine says it shows the "happy Jesus."
