  • Wow. I can't get over how good the Phantom is --- they're very luck to have someone so talented going to this school.

  • The Phantom was good!!!!

  • how tall are you?

  • This was awesome!

  • Best HS production so far :D

  • the phantom was really good, but i wish i could say the same for the Christine though she was really bad..... other wise its good !

  • Best HS production Phantom I've heard yet! Vibrato is very nice.

  • This is really good. My high school is performing Phantom this year. I'm in the chrous. I wanted to see what some other high schools productions look like. This definitely proves the people who believe high schools can't put on POTO wrong.

I'm not sure how my school's will turn out yet, but I hope for the best.

  • Blonde Christine and Brunette Meg?

  • @itslorussoloveee hey beleive it or not christine was accually blonde in the original book

  • Was the instrument ensemble live or a recording?

  • @VelociQueen All the music was live.

  • @jmorganduvall That's amazing!

  • i just love how people sneeze..fart,...burp..and more..and the cast dosent give a sh*t

  • Some of the Phantom's singing reminds me of Ben Lewis (Australian LNDs), very good for a high school (:

  • Christine did pretty well with some of the high notes. too bad she didn't hit the high E.

  • were they actually singing?, it's very good :)

  • I think as he gets older and gets more voice training he will become an excellent singer. He has a good voice don't get me wrong, I just think he will improve with time. Also when he sings Music of the Night it should have been TO Christine and not the audience. It is the Phantom's/Erik's plea to Christine to give up her life to be with him. When there is no interaction between the two you lose the connection and feeling of the song.

  • I miss paul! This play was incredible when I saw it.

  • This Phantom is amazing!!

  • where's the loud drum roll before the phantom's voice is heard?

  • How can anyone compare this Phantom to Gerard Butler? This Phantom is wonderful !!! A deep operatic voice more sinister than Butler's. The way The Phantom SHOULD sound! Butler's Phantom was too pop sounding.

  • @jimsed1964 It kind of spawns from that. The music is supposed to be operatic, yet still able to keep viewers with no actual appreciation of opera occupied. I may call it Popera.

    xD jk.

  • Tempo is usually up to the musical director and director. Truthfully, the show is SO ballad-heavy, the only way to go is faster, otherwise the audience will fall asleep. They did as well as the national tours i have seen. Phantom-boy is fabulous! He's got a career ahead.

  • im wondering how come they go so fast?? like don't get me wrong this is awesome but every time i listen the phantom in a play they always go faster in the movie is it like to save time or something???

  • @ excaliburtation He was 18 at the time of the show as a senior. He's 19 now

  • "I am your angel of music..." Sounded very much like John Cudia.

  • The mask for Woodland Hills High School was made by a professional and was specifically fitted to their Phantom's face. I do have access to a DVD of one of their performances, but I am not sure if I can post it without permission. I do have still photos of their chandelier as it was being built.

  • I think Christine made the right choice by not opting for the high note at the end. Considering she cracked a few measures earlier, it was probably best not to push her voice too far. She has A LOT of singing left to go. All in all, they both did really well. :)

  • i want the mask XD he did good i wish there were videos of Woodland Hills High School from pittsburgh they were 100% detail

  • He is 19

  • @SFHSgirl10 19 and in high school?

  • @excaliburtation yep! he was actually 18 at the time of this production I think, but he is now 19 and in college!

  • Nevermind...he SOUNDS like John Cudia all the time.

  • @excaliburtation I disagree. Cudia has a distinctly brighter voice. I might liken it more to Gary Mauer, but to compare someone's voice to someone else's is bad because vocal distinction is beneficial.

On a side note, WTH with the girl just standing in the corner with the blanket? I understand that the original had the actress come through the mirror (I've only seen it a gazillion times...) but if you can only do a half-good job with it, why do it?

  • @TrumpetLullaby it's a high school production, i didn't mean to make a direct comparison to a professional actor. I only meant that the stability in his voice and even the quality at times such as the "I am your angel, come to me..." sounded a heck of a lot like john cudia. As far as the mirror bride, again, it's a high school production.

  • how old is the phantom?

  • if you cant say anything good say nothing at all

  • OMP!!! HOT PHANTOM ALERT!!!!

  • I felt bad for her because her voice cracked when she singing the end of Phantom of the Opera, she hid it so well though. After that though, there was no turning back and no singing any higher. She probably worked so hard on that part too.

  • -_- I'm sorry, but it's hard to take the phantom seriously when he keeps back tracking and doing variants of the same motion over and over again. Also, it would have been more emotional if Christine came to him instead of the other way around. Good voices for the most part, decent set for a highschool, but acting needs work, including the cringe-worthy blocking.

  • the mask the phantom used in this production has been used in many famous broadway productions of the phantom of the opera!!! so the mask is famous!!!!!!!!!!!

  • paul gandy( the guy who played the phantom) sounds just like gerard butler from the movie!! i was in the crowd it was awhsome!!!!!!!!!!

  • the phantom's voice kind of reminds of broadway phantom, John Cudia's voice... :D

  • the guy playing the Phantom has to be the most talented high school phantom I ever heard!

  • This is a great production, but Christine's voice kind of gets on me nerves.

  • @PhantomsPoet180 Can you do better? O:

I wish I could </3 Were doing this production next year... I really want a solo part but everyone says I NEED singing lessons and to be a saprano 1... :/ I can hit high notes...and I know how to sing...so mean</3

  • Wow, the guy who plays the Phantom is amazing! :)

  • I'm really impressed with this production. Great singers and very elaborate sets! Well done!

  • her high note i didnt think it was that great i love the phantom whats his name

  • This was pretty good.

  • this christine is perfect.. and blonde, I really like that :D

  • @GrizabellasMemory Just like in the novel! :D

  • @BecomingLikeHim

then you can probably read more exact than andrew lloyd webber :D

I mean, he's a genius, his music is amazing... but WHY are all christines brunette when it's said differently in the book. I don't get it :D

and sorry for any language mistakes, I'm not a native speaker :D

  • @GrizabellasMemory I think Christine is brunette in his version because he made his version of Phantom of the Opera for his then wife Sarah Brightman who's a brunette and ever since then they've all been brunettes.

  • @BecomingLikeHim

    they could have used wigs..

but never mind :D I won't complain about the musical because of christines hair color, therefore it's just too beautiful :)

  • @BecomingLikeHim yeah or it could have been for the book cus she might have brunette hair maybe

  • It's good so far, but I wish there had been fog during the mirror scene.

  • Bravo Bravo such perfection it made me cry
