dude...did you give up on helicopters? The main reason for that crash is because you turned the helicopter to fly "nose-in". You should have just kept a rock solid "tail-in" hover. However, that's boring right!!!! Hope you're still flying. Here's me (search: "white trex500 inverted"). I'm good but if I fly indoor, I won't dare turn the heli.
Okay but a gym is a big open area, I meant indoors like in a bedroon, living room, family room etc. Do I really need to clarify that like your 5 yrs old? Sheesh!
as 'idiotic' people flying in a room go, this is one of the biggest rooms, its like that guy flying the belt cp in his bedroom. i think watch?v=GoDpKYrG8UQ is a bit more idiotic, i know what you are saying, but we all do stupid things in our life, some more than others :)
that sucks... crashing when you're just hovering. I'd be so mad if I crashed when I'm hovering, or doing forward flight. If I crash at any other kind of manuevers, I wouldn't really care because I don't know how to do them yet.
Chear up man...we all go through that swarm of emotions WHEN we first crash. Only one thing to do in my book. Spend a crapload more money and spend your guilt and dismay away on new parts. And not just "spare" parts, but upgrades galore. Yeah...when you're done doing that, you won't feel bad about the heli anymore, just your wallet...and your family's future and the such.
Nice crash ;o) Trex is the best to crash, his wood blades, $12, his main/feathering shaft, probably $5. Total of $17 assuming his main gear isn't stripped, he can afford to fly indoors.
I got an Exceed RC Raptor, and yes the Trex 450 is definitely a worthy upgrade for the price!
I went 3D with the Walkera, then I went 3D with the Trex, it was WAY better, it was wicked, but then I crashed it on a sharp turn, shoulda stayed 3D! haha
Simulator is your best bet....then go to a club and ask for help...read up all you can on setting up the heli. A well tuned heli is extreamly much easier to fly!
Well, you shouldn't have that kind of disregard for the potential danger of the thing. One time I crashed mine in my back yard and a piece of rotor blade could have took an eye out. It didn't hit me, but a metal garbage can next to me, and left a nice dent in it. I always wear eye protection now. Just wouldn't want you to get hurt is all.
That is true. BUT At the RPM I am running an accident is not that bad. I have tested it! It leaves a little bruce for a day or so and that is it. It is MUCH more risky to ride my bicycle on these Oklahoma City roads.
ROFL. That was awesome!! I feel soooo much better now. I just bought a TREX, and FINALLY got it to hover and I did the exact same thing in the house. 5 mins of hovering and a week of downtime. $50 in repairs and about 3 hours of time. ARGH!
just a question, for 9 years I have been flying my airplanes and helicopters with my thumbs on the top of the controll sticks. This is the way I learned when i was 6 or 7. Is that the proper way of doing it or is yours?
lol

you gotta be pretty good if you can fly a heli that size in a place like that, well done for that bit :)
vanepico 4 years ago
The video clearly shows He can't!
It is an outdoor heli!
goldslinger 4 years ago
it isnt fully for outside, i have seen loads of people who are good enough to fly trex450s indoors he may not be able to but some people can
vanepico 4 years ago
Just because you can do something doesn't mean you should. The 450 if anything else simply not safe indoors, it is definitely an outside heli.
I'm amazed there aren't more youtube videos of people actually getting hit by there heli's doing stuff like this.

There is no propper way, do what you feel is natural. I feel I have more coordination with the fingers and thumbs.

Home made carbon fiber struts, first proto type, the new ones are a little stiffer but I do like the flex.
