  • Hmmmmmm, I think the term 'extremely high pressure differentials' is misleading. The maximum pressure differential can only ever be -1atm in a complete vacuum, whereas a piston engine can compress the air / fuel to 50atm, and then it explodes. Many people seem to confuse 'ultra high vacuum' with the idea of 'ultra high pressure', when it is really about cleanliness rather than extra pressure differential.
