Well I think I know what series you are talking about, I'm not sure if you will ever get this message or not but I'll still tell you. The anime is called "Dot Hack" There is more than one series going on with this anime but it seems like the one your talking about is "Dot Hack Legend of the Twillight". I hope this was helpful.
