Jim, iam glad you sent me here, this is truly wonderful. Your voice and the way you pick your guitar is pure joy to listen and goes right through into my soul .
@TinkGerman High praise indeed Tinks, thank you so much. ..it's rare that I 'point' anyone directly to my channel , but from listening to your vocal/guitar style , I took a chance on 'Changes' being of interest.....it's my pleasure.
Truly beauitful version of this lovely song...I had never heard of Phil Ochs until I heard Gord's cover and went exploring. Part of the magic of music...one wonderful artist introduces you to the work of another. Lovely.
@aplacetohideaway Thank you Sharron...I hadn't until Gords version , and Phil Ochs was the writer of 'There But For Fortune' a great song also. Yes, it's all part of the enjoyment, these connections in music.
@justjoanie67 One of my favs.too, I picked up from Gords albums.....tho' I've added another verse. ( check it out when you get home). Now, enjoy the rest of your vacation with the 'boys'.I didn't realise you'd access this latest stuff of mine. my thanks once again , and I won't upload any more until you all are home. A couple more of Gords 'in the can' by then hopefully to upload.
@jamesfdonaldson ~ Oh the boys never go anywhere without their ipads, iphones, ipods, imacs, etc - there's always access to the net. Unfortunately all their i-gear makes me i-broke, lol! ;) Thanks again for all the uploads - They are always a pleasure.
Thanks Ian, again. Yes it's a relatively cheap condenser mic.--AKG C1000S---around £100 mark 7-8 years ago. Can be used without Phantom power ( battery compt. in body ) Hey, the price tells something , so !!!....pick-up range is great on phantom and judicious placement will tho' get you a decent sound. I have to use some of the 'spillage' from the guitar onto voc.mic , yet the blend's ok. A tweak on eq may help too. AKG is closer than it looks BTW 8-10 inch. How's the tutorial goin ?..Jim
Great stuff Jim. Love the totally clear picking 'clawhammer' style ...as I'd describe it.By the way, is that a condensor mic' you are using? The distance its at..sensitive I think. Im catching up with your stuff, see?...-Ian
@evsynator Glad you like the take on it Evs....If you get a chance , have a read up on Phil Ochs , Wiki thingy's a good start , but there's at least one biography out on him. A radical in his short life.
