  • @bakabozzaish Once again Scoubidou is the French for "stitch cord", "lanyard", "scoubi", "scoobie", "boondoggle" or "gimp".

    I don't know exactly what you expected (the dog from the cartoon perhaps?), but I am sorry if the title is misleading.

  • @RepertMousik Scoubidou is the French for stitch cord, lanyard, scoubi, scoobie, boondoggle or gimp. It can be used as a keychain. This one is made of plastic thanks to 3D printing (I made a 3D model and then ask Shapeways to use one of their 3D printer to make it layer by layer).

  • @poosaypirate Well, I had first to figure out how actual scoobies where done (pencil and paper). Then I decided the dimensions. I used a modeling software to draw the axis of one wire, copied it 3 times (rotating each copy 90°) and I draw the endings. Then I added thickness to the spline. It was a long time ago: I would say 4 hours more or less... Happy that you like it... :)

  • @LiiiZ33 Content qu'il te plaise. En fait, je n'ai fait que dessiner la forme en 3D dans un logiciel de modélisation. Ensuite j'ai envoyé le fichier contenant le modèle en 3D à Shapeways (en France, il y a Sculpteo) une société qui fabrique l'objet en impression 3D, et t'envoie l'objet chez toi.

    Tu peux acheter ce modèle dans ma boutique (le lien est dans la description, normalement) ou essayer d'en faire un pareil dan un logiciel de modélisation 3D (Sketchup, 3DS Max...) et le faire imprimer.

    This time the wire is thicker (2 mm) and the elasticity is due to the shape of the structure (spring-like).

    This model is basically one-dimensional. I will test 2D very soon (a kind of fabric with the same pattern), but I still have to figure out how to make a 3D structure...
