I love the concept, and I like some of the first person shots. Sound could have been better though. And how did he not notice he was beating himself up? Ha if it were darker I could understand. Not hating, trying to give constructive criticism, I liked it :)
Great job,, just 2 things, make the footage 1280x534 = 2.40:1 ratio, gives it a cinema look, and like other comments, some 'hit' soundeffects while you where beating the guy ;)
The suspense building went pretty well. Suspense done right is not easy to find on youtube. A few angles and cuts were a little questionable, but with one exception, it was good overall. That exception comes during the beating scene. You spent all the film, up to that point from the character's POV. When he attacked himself, however, you inexplicably switched from the attacker's POV to the victim's. That should've waited until the attacker became the victim.
@1292Productions and in terms of settings, I shot ISO 1600, lowest aperture possible and used the Kodachrome 50 picture profile and shutter at 1/50 all the way through. 1080p 24fps
i liked alot of the shots, and very nicely lit. I just used this camera for my latest short film called 'Conscience'. Go watch it on my channel if you like.
u developed fear with the sound effects, but the only bad thing about it is that it's a copy 90% & u know from where. being a cliche movie i did not like it
@cinemaa1 Everyone keeps saying its copied from Doodlebug, but I saw it a month after I shot Looped, I know arguing isn't going to do much good and I do agree they are very similar yet I have my own message that I am trying to send out through the use of "one hurting oneself" Take from that what you will.
@themorningperson sorry, it does, but I convert the files to ProRes 422 on my computer for editing, and then reconvert it using the h.264 compression for the web
@1292Productions Its a great short. Don't get me wrong...but it just reminds me of a short film by Christopher Nolan called Doodle Bug. I think you can find it on You Tube...
Did you use an after effect flare at 1:14 on the light?

What were your camera settings, for some reason my T2i footage doesn't look as good as this. Its really grainy.

Like everyone else, really liked the concept, and I thought it was well executed, just needed more dramatic sound fx when the beating occurs.
