@Malkmusianful You know what I was thinking the same thing, Some of the sounds in this are amazing contemporary with with modern electronic dance music, you have some sounds you could easily sample and put into an Acid, Techno, House or Dubstep tune.or soundscape.. In my opinion after one can look at this early masterpiece of Pink Floyd as a pioneer about the coming bands as for example Soft Machine, Kraftwerk, Van der Graaf Generator and Kraan, the psychedelic and progressive rock in europe able of drawing room did and for a movement provided which searched her equals and looks still today - anyway a masterpiece which fascinates by his surrealism and belongs for me to the best songs of Pink Floyd generally. All the best from Germany.
Is that ? Yes ? YES ! It is !!! My dream girl and always will be...At 3.08...Julie Christie...Ahh,beautiful Julie. There is a girl that used to work in the Tesco supermarket in Bathgate in Scotland that was and still is for that matter I suppose, a young Julies double. I always tried to catch her eye and spoke to her a few times at the till. She knew I fancied her. I wouldn't say anything inapropriate as I'm married. Sometimes it good not to touch, only look...G...
the whole intro makes me believe. it sort of gives me a feeling of self. i know its nearly 50 years after the sixties, but This is the sound, the pink floyd sound!!!
Whoever posted this video brought me soooo so sooo much closer to the pink floyd!!! Tonight Lets All Make Love In London is a documentery right? well im fixin to buy it on DVD now!!anyhow this is most definatly my favorite Intersteller Overdrive version..Oh by the way,,is this exact song on the Tonight Lets All Make Love Soundtrack? cuz i wanna Have this in my car too..lemmie know floyd fans!! oh by the way guess what,,,pink floyd wrote Dogs right? well I always thought Waters wrote that one.
If Syd hadn't fried his brain on acid, we never would have had the wonderful music we got from the Pink Floyd, later on. It is possible that we might have got better music, with Syd. Who can say? Just glad we got what we did.
Has this been released on DvD Graffiti? Iv'e had the cd for ages and knew it was from tlamlil the moment i heard the opening chord's. This is a great version. And the final shot of syd in this vid with his ciggarette in hand in the studio is the album art to the cd that was released. Glad i found this, cheers gTV.
I am at a loss as to the appeal of this music. It seems to prattle on aimlessly for what seems like hours. But then not being a monged out PhD student I suppose it would go over my head somewhat.
I don't see how anyone cannot like this! I've never been high in my life and I'm able to enjoy this for the sheer beauty of it. But, if andy can't keep an open mind, than perhaps he should take a hit.
Well done to "graffitiTV" because I used to have to go to MYSPACE to see the full 16min version but here it is on YouTube. When Syd is working his guitar way up high it sounds like my 10 week old screaming his head off. That analogy is the only thing that keeps me sane... Alone in the cloud all blue is fine for everyone else but I like it with the butchers and the baker and the supermarket stores... Clearly I am not always sane!
This is taken from Micheal Whitehead's film "Tonite lets make love in London" and you can get this version of Intestellar Overdrive on the soundtrack for that film from See for Miles Records
it is also available on a Pink Floyd disc titled, "London 66-67". It's only a two track disc containing this track and "Nick's Boogie".Both over 16 minutes, and both very pyschedelic(sp?). Well worth it for any Floyd fan.
Honestly I sometimes wish they were more commercial. Why didn't they return to the main riff couple of times during the song? It would have been THE instrumental of the 60's.
I love it. Just finished watching the 72 minute Piper at the Gates of Dawn documentary, and now this. It is good not to forget those early days when, for a short while, the band had its unique, never to be repeated period with Barrett as the creative force behind it all.
amazin the album we listen to was recordin of live , on stage - none of this "lets quibble in the studio" business hence the occasional dropped note ; - its -EVEN NOW- ahead of its time tho will , and is , now becomin recognised by those who understand music intrinsically. remember , ther is a video with an awestruck John Lennon watchin (where he 1st met Yoko OhNo) thats awesome!

I will have to agree as well, but there are some bands that are technically not "Rock and Roll" but follow the same theories that Pink floyd actually created. Seeing as Floyd is so different and unorthodox. Which makes them who they are.
check out modest mouse, not comparing, modest mouse is my favorite modern band. THey follow alotta pink floyds style..which makes me love them.
