  • Im gettin flamed and insulted by saying that this street fighter sucks compared to the best ones like zero3, third strike,ex plus alpha, its not that the game is bad but it should be way better considering that its the last sf and its comming for next gen consoles

  • Parries are in the game as the Saving Strike(Focus Attack), which is more of a command parry which uses up meter. Ironically, as parrying revolved around SF3, Saving Strike revolves around SF4 system and meter management still.

    Games out now in various places in the U.S. to try out, I heard CTF has it now.

  • Nearly all the original SF2 staff is gone now to other companies or dropped off the face of the earth.

    CFJ was a game dumped on Ono after the original producer left. Ono didn't make Ingrid, Hidetoshi Ishizawa did. Ono also worked on SF3:3rd Strike as a producer and the director on Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams.

  • Bull sh*t. OHNOES didn't produce 3S, he lied about not making Ingrid and about receiving CFJ and Onimusha DoD is the weakest entry in that series.

    And true Mk3 and Trillogy and Ultimate! Had terrible combo system's but the cool thing is that every combo was more realer because you cannot press 1 button and have a garante combo with extra hits.

    Mk3 was tap tap one at a time for combo's.

    I think thats cool!

    But the Brutality was just to far!......that they fuckdup?

  • Nah. I thought it's brutality was rather low and too cartoony to enjoy. But the system was severely flawwed in that once a player finds a loop (which was too easy to master), they can crush anyone. Many times I was nailed in Ultimate with run and throws or the same 6 hit combo repeated over and over throughout the match with a very small window to get out, but become vulnerable to the throw loop when out of the combo. Then when I learned how easy the loops were to execute, I gave up on it.

    Or MK Trilogy?

    Because I know that Snes has lots of glithcs!

    I have almost all of the Mk games accept for Ps2 versions only the old school versions!

  • The MK3 combo loops work in the arcades and on the N64(most broken on N64).

    Also, combos work best with Subzero, Raiden, Scorpion, Smoke, Cyrax, and Jax.

    With Jax you need to use throws and uppercuts, not easy.

    Subzero works best with the frozen floor(can't recall move name) and only works due to bugs.

    Use the net and uppercuts for Cyrax.

    Everyone else just spam the teleports after finishing a combo. Also, either pull 'em in or chase 'em, based on character.

    Easiest to do with Smoke.

  • what you guys don't understand is that a new street fighter IV with a street fighter 2 look will only appeal to street fighter fans, SFIV is looking to give you an SFII/III FEEL but also friendly to new and casual players. if they got a new street fighter that look like SFII no one would be interested. you need change to move on to a better future.

  • i like the overall style of graphics for Street Fighter 4; it's a refreshing change in my opinion. However i do hope they improve the 3D model animation a bit more. The karate-gi appears to have no life or any animation. It looks like it's just painted on the body.

  • Seeing more of an improvement would be nice and I know it will come, though it doesn't look bad already, when you see Ryu charging up a Hadouken you can see his Gi flailing up and down everywhere from the power!

  • Parries are cool to perform and watch ,it always give your opponent a chance to comeback with no block damage.

  • Revenge gauge and the saving system? sounds interesting...which can give beginner and expert players some fun. its great that its not too technical. Also i heard its more about being offensive than just parry/countering or turtling or whatever you call it. SWEET!!!

  • Fact of the matter is we've seen this fan reaction before. SF3 series being a prime example, everyone complaining about the re-designs and new characters. After release, most people accepted it as a good. The irony of it all is if most of the loud-mouths preaching against this game were so all-knowing, they would be working on this game for capcom, and not the current team. Let them do there job, review it when you actually have something substancial.

  • Poeple really do like to complain! This is a VERY early look, we probably won't see this until XMas 08 at the earliest, and besides it looks amazing! Street Fighter is an American property now, so maybe that's why it's not as traditionally Japanese. Also comparing it to the likes of DOA or Virtua Fighter is silly, they are much deeper than Street Fighter ever was, or probably will be. I commend Capcom for trying something new with an old franchise. This is going to be amazing!

  • I can remember playing Street Fighter 2 and when Super Street Fighter 2 came out I really thought the graphics were not an improvement as far as the characters go. But then, when I played Super Street Fighter 2 I quickly forgot about the graphics and loved the gameplay, the new characters and the speed of the game. The graphics are kinda sucky in part 4 but, ultimately, as long as the gameplay is good and there are enough balanced characters I don't think it will matter.

  • If you think tho,thats the biggest complant topic from casual players is usually the precise move inputs of moves such as the Dragon Punch,Links to supers,360 slam motions for more examples.Its only scary tho to think what pros can do with more + frame attacks as such..o.0

  • Yo Pop,they do it by slowing the frames input into doing moves,thus making move motions less "tight"and complex to do.For example,the HadoKen.Any vet knows that by the time the stick hits foward in the d to f motion punch has to be hit at the same time or otherwise,the move wont come out.

  • With that said we can add the bonus amount of frames added to excute a fireball in Street Fighter 4s case which will appeal to lots of casual players and not bother the hardcore players that very well could find tricks with moves delayable like that to help them compete.

  • Point taken mac,very ture.But as you can see already,the majority of fighting games nowadays that either have yet to be released or already have(months ago) are in fact being made with the casual ones in mind.For example,take a look at Super Smash Bros Brawl.Now,you can just hold A to preform combo strings as you werent able to in the past.

  • Key comes down to - Can a casual player use it without it breaking the game? - I think the hardest examples are Urien from SF3:3S and Kabal from MK3. Urien's Agis Reflector had so many nuances that it was all but un-usable by casual players. Kabal meanwhile was so overpowered with his dash-stun that in the hands of a skilled player it was hard for other characters to keep up. Hopefully Brawl is all good, I expect it to be.

  • I really couldnt care where they stole it. The question is 'Does it help the game as a whole?' SF4 we can hope is simplified if only a little. The problem generally with fighting games is they make the mechanics so deep that only the hardcore are going to play it. To bring any fighter back to main-stream status, you're going to have to give the casual players the same options as the elite. Not an easy challenge, balance and depth.

  • I think that alot of people are disappointed is because that they want sf to be another rehash, which this isn't the 90s anymore. The graphics can be much better, but this is a beta. Capcom could've taken the graphics into another direction in having it rival vfs, t6, sc4, and etc, however, they kept it anime like in order for it not to complete stand out. Overall, I'm for sf4, because I'm actually open-minded.
