Man - who'da thunk it. I'm searching how to play drums on a keyboard and yet I can play live drums.

Isnt low D# (near the kick) usually clap?

@macjsus Yep, that should be the clap. Unfortunately some of the kits I'm using these days don't follow the General MIDI percussion key map. Boooo!

@PlateOh it depends of the kit, i'm right? a clap or a finger snap isn't so much helpful on an acoustic kit.

I also have a djx1 and i love it but i cant seem to get it to work with vista, ive checked many forums and read the djx manual many times and ive saw many other people with the same problem. i study music and am not a new comer to midi, my djx works fine on xp. ive tryed to get my djx1 to work as a midi controler on several daws in vista including, live, acid pro, cubase, fl studio, reaper and sonar.

If any one has got this keyboard workin with vista please contact me.

it is called rimshot because you hit the rim of the drum

No its call rimshot because you make a "shot" sound using the rim not becasue you hit the rim, becasue if you just hit the rim yo sont get a rimshot. you know what i mean?

@slliks67 to do a rimshot you hit the rim and the head simultaneously with the same stick creating a louder "snappy" sound, a side stick it when you rest the butt of the stick on the head and drop the stick down on the rim creating a "tok" sound..completely different techniques.
