MLK had plans to run for president on a third party ticket in 1968. Not that he would have won, but he would have drastically changed the course of American politics, and the establishment could not tolerate a threat to the "two-party" system and the lucrative war machine.

You could have realized i known the elites and not the masses govern, if for no other reason that as much is discussed in this lecture by William Pepper. It's the reason why MLK was assassinated by those elites - he was a threat to the elite's monopoly on political power.

A capitalist democracy is a society that believes democracy and capitalism are somehow inherently related in that you can't have one without the other - such as the societies in all the wealthy nations.
