lay off the initial d and get some real seat time. alignment, and suspension tuning and a lsd would have helped the crx. riding the bump stops makes the wheels spin. (but low cars are cool?! right?) proper aligment would have given you more traction, and as for the understeer, it's called left foot braking. you should know that ff cars are built with understeer so they're safer for punks who took fast and furious too serious. they have racing technique books, i suggest you get them

none of you know what your talking about acutally. keep watching initial d and pretend to be a car guy. F1 cars are MR. you guys should put down the initial d, get some track time and read some books about HOW TO RACE instead of watching a cartoon. your crx wheelspin is due to horrible suspension tuning. alignment, limited slip and not having cut or 3 inch drop springs help. the more you're off the bump stops the more travel your wheels have, more contact with the pavement more grip.

FF cars are better at low power/weight, its been proven. Obviously they can't drift, bt they are better at low stages of racing.

It's basic racing knowledge that an FF will not race as well as an FR. All F1's are FRs. The reason why FFs are popular and more common today is because they are safer.

The only reason FWD exists is b/c Chrysler was trying to market compact economy cars to compete with the japs, they realized that making the car fwd eliminates the need for a driveshaft, rear differential, and transmission. Instead chrysler took all forward gears,final drive gear, reverse, and differential and combined them into one case called a transaxle. That saved tons of money and allowed them to sell cheaper economy cars...

Why are you guys bickering? You're all close minded saying that one car is better than another, one chassis configuration is better. It doesn't matter. Look at autocross, FWD's have a really great time competing, but when it comes to drifting, FWD's cant drift. AWD's tend to understeer. I drive a supra turbo (ma71) but I still want a miata.

True, I owned a few fwd cars when I was younger. I used to autocross my crx si and it made good times but nothing will out perform a miata or lotus exige in scca autocross those cars are so light and well balanced. My crx had excessive wheel spin, understeer and torque steer and the wheel spin got even worse when I swapped in a ls/ vtec. Supras are badass cars, im thinkin about gettin a miata too, have you driven one yet? Theyre fun as hell to drive.

miatas are damn impressive to drive as far as handleing, id like to see how one of those cars drive with a 13b. i have a 3rd gen camaro i drive now and i love how it handles. much better than my ef although a good bit heavier.

If fwd cars were true racing machines, true race teams would be building fwd cars, ferraris would be fwd, formula 1 cars would be fwd. Fwd cars can be fast but a well balanced rwd car will always be faster.
