The trains are always stopping due to signal failure, the drivers are always on strike and ppl get pushed off carriages by other passengers because they have luggage on them during rush hour! I remember being at school and worrying when i heard that london had been bombed. I live in essex near london and i have family and friends who travel to london daily to work or live there. Its horrible and scary hearing terrorists attacks over the world and when it happens so close to you it makes u realise just that bit more just how real and terrifying it is. a week later i had a school trip to london and i was really scared about going. i still panic when i have to use the underground.

It was a local TV broadcast that would explain it. People that watch local TV in the morning want to know two things: the weather and the traffic situation.
The cable news stations and the network news programs that night I remember covered the bombings in detail.
But yea I get your point, our news here is very American centric. Its annoying to me too thats why I listen to NPR far more than I watch cable news.
