  • The Young Turds.....spewing liberal bullshit 24/7 ;)

  • @xlr8r2010 yea im guilty of doing that to everytime a conservative opens their mouth i just say they are spewing conservative bullshit...it really works

  • The stimulas did absolutely nothing to help the economy.....if anyone thinks it did, they are fucking stupid. They spent 500k in stimulas money to create 1.7 jobs....not even 2 jobs created spending 500k! lmfao@liberals! What are you dickheads gonna do in 2012 when your devine leader loses the White House? You are all gonna cry racism, say he lost because whites are racist...lmao

  • And now most Democrats are taking credit for the anti fed movement.

    its an endless cycle

  • The Young Turkeys are just on the liberal side of the asshole line! STFU!!!

  • Politicians have to bring home the bacon otherwise their not doing the job for their district its actually up to the political system to avoid spending on something just because somebody wants it in. The US should have a system to hand money to the states rather than wasteful spending..

  • Yes - even after all of the bitching and misery the American people still rate the GOP at the bottom of the list.

  • All this bullshit about hypocrisy is why this shit isnt working in the first place...cant anybody see that the problem in gov't isnt solely a democrat or republican party issue?? The problem is there are too many stupid politicians who are looking out for the best interest of their party, and not for the country and its people.

All this republican this..and democrat that crap really takes away that there has never has been a more "correct" party. Bottomline, Bush fucked up n now Obama is too

  • Republicans are deranged individuals.

  • @GoStealthOnEm Liberals are anti American scumbags.....if the shoe fits,wear it ;)

  • One word for the republicans ..................... HYPOCRITES !!!!!!

I cannot understand how the American people can seriously think that these Republicans are serious about the American people and by extension America.

They are only interested in giving the private sector more money and saying no to anything that is to benefit the average person in America.

    As I said ................... HYPOCRITES.

  • Why are you watching it then

  • I've never wanted to punch a republican like I do now... there is no greater douchebag than a braggart.

  • calm down

  • in where? Im sure that would be a great comment for the appropriate video, but this is regarding OBAMA's stimulus bill. And I have no doubt whether it is Bush or his supporters that took a major wrong turn, but I find it ironic that Obama is now putting effort to a major tax break in which Bush and republicans were wanting instead of the stimulus bill. Im not saying Bush is in the right, but you can't argue that this bill was for the betterment of the US. Its just illogical.

  • Actually, in the STIMULUS bill was Obama's FIRST bank bailout. Also called TARP (troubled assets relief program) money, it was such a huge aspect of the stimulus bill that I hope your kidding! Where your seeing "bank bailout" everywhere is the SECOND bailout specifically for the banks. You know I don't mind being corrected, but just make sure you got your facts in order.

  • actually the TARP program was introduced during the last months of the bush administration under secretary Paulson. The reason why the first half of the tarp failed was paulson actually said to just give the 350 billion dollars to the banks with no strings attached. he actually requested that last part. the second part of your comment is unreadable.

  • Hey, im glad your doing some actual research! And i must again reiterate that I am not much of a Bush supporter regarding the economy...

But if you believe what Paulson did was ill-guided, and wasn't the right response to fix the economy...

THEN you should agree with me that this bill was BS due to the same reasoning!! They were both careless spending!! dont you get it! They are the exact same situation!

I hope this clears some judgement to whomever reads this...

  • I guess E101 didn't teach you about regulation. Do you kno why its so hard to get a loan? its due to banks needs in these uncertain times (you'll study that in E202 dont worry). O but they received this great "stimulus" bill ...banks are the reason there isnt a stimulus now. They are holding the bill money in their reserves, not allowing a regulated but continuous loan process. As for the vegas train...thats not a job thats a project, what happens when its done in three months. UNEMPLOYMENT

  • fucken republicans don't know they're asshole's from a hole in the ground.

  • Sarah Palin was more than happy to take over 70% of her PORK stimulus for the state of Alaska!

How hypocrital is that crap! Republicnazi bitch about the bill.. than take the money and smile when it comes to there state getting it huh?

    Its total bulshit!

  • she's not a bitch, she's a cunt!!!

  • At this point in human history, being a republican means nothing more than being a cynical pro-war religious realist with absolutely no imagination and inclination to help future generations live a better life.

  • They voted against the bill due to it being filled with unnecessary pork that would in the end hurt the economy for it is reckless to spend an unnecessary amount than what we need.

On a local level Republicans are stating they are happy for their part of the bill (for instance the first example- where he's getting pell grant money) because the money republicans are receiving is well-considered & responsibly borrowed money. Not like the 20 some million going to LA for a train to las vegas.

  • That's what Bill O'Reilly and friends told you. It's also what your parents told you. But it's still not the truth. Maybe if you put some time and effort into investigating this instead of just blindly listening to the people around you you would have a better understanding of this very obvious situation.

  • With all due respect, what you hear is completely liberal crap. What would you expect to hear in sweden, its a fricken socialist's dream. I may not have all the right points of view but i'll stand to it that neither side is in the right here. Of course I heard it from Bill, Beck, and the other reps...but what I hear from the left is simple, well...we know we just messed up, so lets try to find crap against republicans to even out the scale. This is politics, a ridiculous cat n' mouse game.

  • Ahahahaha, look at you, making excuses like a fucking hypocrite. Oh God so funny.

  • Easily one of your funniest vids, Cenk.

  • All of the bailouts are the most pathetic thing that America has ever done. Fix the bad at the expense of the good...that's a great rule to stand by.

TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR OWN ACTIONS.

  • The Republicans are known to sit on a ROCK and comment against everything the Democrates do. Don't they have any intelligent people to at least come up with some good ideas. Everything the Reps do is criticize everything and do nothing!! Oh I forgot, Michelle Bachmannn is a Rep so do not expect too much from them. The Reps will continue to sit on their huge ROCK do nothing WATCH America go to hell... freaky unreal!!

  • You are an idiot we would never take credit for this pile of crap spending bill. How about saving a mouse in California thats the kinda of stuff your type says will create jobs, maybe if you are the pest control guy!!!

  • Republicans are doing exactly what they accused democrats of in the run-up to the war! Being the party of no! For the republicans to act like all of a sudden they have the answers, when for four yrs they fucked up and cheered bush along the whole way, and then Obama says we need to change, and republicans all of a sudden said "hell yeah, we need to change". They just weren't tryin to change while Bush was in there! Republicans, u see why people dont trust u anymore? U probably dont!

  • kennyglenn1....bullshitting dumbass with no brain

  • explain plz?

  • whats an earmark?

  • I hope people remember what a bunch of asshole obstructionists the Republicans have been through all this when the next elections are held.

  • crazy

  • Obama doesn't have a clue as to what to do, trying to be bipartisan when the economy is essentially dying is like reading poetry during and contemplating the meaning of life during a meltdown in a nuclear power plant, the gop (except for Ron Paul and a few others are a bunch of lyers and crooks)

  • Too bad the change is just a bigger bill down the road.

  • yeah, but at least it goes directly back into the economy, so it keeps the ball rolling if you see what i mean. imo this is better than the rep. idea of indirectly funding the economy.

  • If those were the only choices I may agree with you. I think they are both massively bad ideas.

I agree with Ron Paul, cut government spending (troops home etc, etc) and use that to fund tax cuts and directly help people stay safe and warm.

Things would be worse now if the government sat back but there would be an end in sight. Too bad the lobbyists really control the government....

  • mn, but what kind of end would that be? at least this way the money is in the hands of the prolitariot

and what do you mean when you say the lobbyists have the final word? the President has the final word at the end of the day, look what happened to that republican a couple of weeks ago: serious pwnage

  • There would be a banking system that you could actually trust. The government acts like nobody should be allowed to succeed unless they took massive risk and are now bankrupt.

That money that is coming isn't going to be worth a lot when massive inflation eventually kicks in. I agree that this is overdue by a couple administrations.

If the lobbyists aren't still incontrol then why is AIG and all the failing banks still getting taxpayer money?

    It doesn't help the people.

  • 2:40 no ear marks in the bill really? a large portion of the bill is by definition ear mark spending. god what an idiot

  • Learn the definition of "earmark" before you speak, friend.

  • Republicans reinventing history like always ..how do they sleep at night?

  • in a hyperbolic chamber

  • One powerful organization that force feeds right wing psychosis, and stays under the radar..

    Knights of Columbus

  • The problem is once you take over banks and companies they become poltical pintanas and favor factories. Why do you think Andrew ended the charter for National bank in 1836? Because of croynism benefit at the expense of the working people at the time.

  • Stimulus package will create inflationary pressures. The housing package coming up needs to be derailed. We as nation need to read books. Stimulus, nationalization all failed that why Soviet Union Failed

  • The soviet union failed economically the same way we did. They went broke trying to destroy a ghost called al quaeda, which we taught to do gerilla warfare. We created them during reagan to do that to the soviets. When asked if they thought they could bring down a superpower they replied, "No, but we can cause them to bring themselves down trying to get rid of us." We created a trap and then we stepped in it, thanks to G.W.Bush

  • To Dadreamzworld: It's a stimulus bill not "stimulants," so who's the idiot? Also, I was calling the guy from TYT an idiot; just to be clear. And no, I don't think it would be dumb to spend the $ quickly if it was going to stimulate the economy. However, my point was that the money that won't be spent for years, is not intended to stimulate the economy. Half the $ is for liberal legislation that should not be in a stimulus bill, as it is not economic stimulus. All this $ comes from our pockets.

  • First, I'm not a Republican. I just pointed out the truth about the "stimulus" bill and the media. And second, there's a difference between intentionally deceiving and being wrong. The Republican party is filled with corrupt weasels, but they are the lesser of the two evils, at the moment. Also, you didn't even attempt to argue what I said about the bill. You just attempted to justify Democrat dishonesty by pointing to what you perceive as Republican dishonesty; though you gave no specifics.

  • The reason the Republicans didn't vote for the stimulus bill is because less than half the money in the bill has anything to do with stimulating the economy. Most of the money won't even be spent for two or three years. If you really watch this clip and believe what this fucking idiot is saying, then you are severely ignorant and misguided. This guy, like most of the media in this country, will happily sacrifice the truth to trick more people in to supporting his argument. So much for honesty

  • gotta love republicans talking about "sacrificing the truth to trick more people" seems you made 8 years outta that lol

  • Question, there are hundreds of billions of dollars that are in this stimulants, why should they spend all this money as soon as it drops you don't think that would be dumb to spend all the money the first year? Why would he be the idiot when you are the one sounding like the idiot and how are the republican the lesser of the two evil?

  • Theory wise, the Republicans don't want to be the ones who screwed up the economy and the Democrats want to fix it. Bush and McCain were still lying about the economy as it fell down around the rest of our ears. I dare say, most people who make over 250grand aren't arguing about it on YouTube. So the ones who are arguing don't even get any benefits from the Republican "The economy is how much the middle class spends" thinking. They don't get the tax breaks or even jobs. Stupid, brainwashed.

  • George Bush stood on the white house lawn announcing the need for the stimulus package and the fact that he had to have it explained to him that we were in a financial crisis. He started the stimulus package. You can't rewrite history and say the Democrats were in charge. The talking point was, "The fundamentals of our economy are strong." Clueless. Then, he stopped the debates to go back to DC in order to help Bush pass the stimulus package.

  • Oh and, another thing...why do some republicans turn democrat? I've NEVER heard of a democrat turning republican...they know better!

  • Republicans turn Democrat when they lose their job due to Military Spending that preempts logical government programs like educational funding during an industry shut down. We could have reeducated our auto plant workers in a new field but the Republicans said, Lets' spend the money one ONE MORE ATOMIC BOMB or stealth plane," even in peace time. Stupid Reagan.

  • Isn't it just like a republican to take credit for something they don't do! I swear, what a bunch of losers!

  • Typical republicans me and friends had a dispute about this I told them the repukelicans were upset the didnt think of the package and they were standoffish so they could look good about it for their own party but when it passes which it will they will then praise it and take the money just watch, and well I won a cheese cake bitches pay up. lol

  • Damn you Republicans!

    Have you no shame?

  • why would they take credit for that?!?

  • If it wasn't for Republican double standards, they wouldn't have any standards at all!

  • I looked up double standards in the dictionary It said republicans (shrugs) who knew? LOL

  • no pork in the bill?. I don't think so.

  • First - "pork" isn't necessarily a bad thing... so let's get some things straight. Both Republicans AND Democrats have put "pork" into bills in the past. These "pork" projects are used on LOCAL levels to rebuild schools, construct museums and create landmarks etc.

The current Stimulus Bill has less then 1% "pork" in it.

Don't take my word for it though. For the first time in our history we, the average citizen, can go take a look for ourselves as it is available online. Take a look.

  • i hate to say this Krumbz. they won't look at it online or if they did look at it online they just gonna dissect on that bill to find the bad ones to proove their case. itubeutude aint gonna do it.

  • When will the hate stop on this small planet inhabited by humans, if we don't soon we may be S.O.L. if we are ever invaded by other intelligent races more superior than you and me.

  • If the earth is invaded by a race that has perfected interstellar space travel, to the point that they can send an invasion force, human prejudice will be a moot point. What exactly about the video clip brought your mind to what is basically the plot of "Independance Day"?

  • This is why you can sue someone for libel and slander if they are lying about you.

Post a link to the retraction, libel suit, or debunking, otherwise accept that facts support liberals and not fascists.

  • 2 out of the 3 are left leaning, and even the 2 are about 1,000 times more credible than the Drudge Report.

Of course if you have any sources that contradict the information presented in this video, we're all eager for you to share it.

  • A fact is a fact, regardless of the source.

I will debunk something by Oxy-Addict Limbaugh, FAUX News, ins-Hannity, etc. by pointing out how something was taken out of context, twisted, or based on false information.

Dismissing something solely b/c you don't like the source, then you claim I'M BLIND?!?!? A Psychiatrist would tell you that you are PROJECTING.

    Put down the kool-aid.

  • - who are usually more passionate about collective well-being.

  • Typical .. just what to expect from

    RepubLIARkins.

Why bother with truth when you can fib?

  • fuck em.

  • These GOPers are endeavoring the hoodwink the public, but those with half a brain won't fall for it.

  • Hopefully you're right and people with half a brain won't fall for it, but keep in mind that half a brain is usually half a brain more than most Republicans possess...or, at least, choose to utilize.

  • This is revealing a double-edged demagogic strategy. They endorse it publically now to their local constituents because the people like it. However, since they voted against it, they are covered. If it succeeds they will pretend they own it, if it fails they will say "see, I did not vote for it."

The people have to be on the alert all the time with these manipulators.

  • they are morons! republicans!

  • This is POL-I-TRICKS at it's finestL!!!!

  • The trouble with you, Cenk, is you don't think like a Republican. No matter what they do, or what happens, the Republicans did the right thing and they deserve credit. Their motto is "Don't confuse me with facts, my mind's made up".

  • How can the Republicans claim to have done the right thing in voting against the stimulus and then praise certain elements of the stimulus at the local level. Whether you're Democratic or Republican, you have to see the hypocrisy and irony in that stance. This is regardless of your support for the stimulus. The Republicans shouldn't take credit for the benefits of the stimulus when they bashed everything about it. The Republicans need to stop playing politics and focus on assisting the public.

  • The response to your comment is; Republicans are insecure, whiney, hypocritcal and completely self centred. They are just doing their thing, which has nothing to do with helping anyone but themselves.

  • They cant stop playing politics, that all they know!

Everyone needs to be on the same page and the Republicans keep coloring outside of the lines.....*I know thats a poor example lol*

  • When I heard the story I lost my mind...how do you brag for something you originally didn't even want. OH THE IRONY!!!

  • Ah, the hypocrisy. Too bad the voting public is so uninformed, they'll believe this crap.

  • Cenk, you are precious. truly. Hahahahaa

  • So, let me understand this. A legislator initiates or proposes certain provisions in a bill, that goes on to become so bloated, overreaching, and destructively expensive, that he cannot in good conscience support it, but it passes anyway. Is it my understanding that he is then not allowed to "talk up" the parts of the bill he did support? Hmm, that just doesn't pass MY bullshit detector. Of course the legislators are going to exalt the parts of the bill they actually supported, why wouldn't they

  • lol - yes, they are spending a lot - that is the point of a stimulus - to get the economy moving - and at least 5 of them put in amendments that - ta-da! - require spending and add to the "bloat". Did you also not hear Cenk talking about how Repubs wanted to add earmarks but there are NONE? Voting against your own amendment and then talking it up makes NO sense in this situation.

  • And this response addressed my point how??

And since you've decided to completely ignore what I was trying to impart, I'll play along. Just how does spending money we don't have "stimulate" the economy?? Isn't spending money we don't have, what landed us in this mess, in the first place? Hmm, just what is the function of government, and why has every administration since Lincolns, decided it's more than the constitution actually authorizes??

  • If youc annot see how my response discussed your "points", perhaps you need to re-read it or attend a reading comprehension class. Spending money on infrastructure provides construction jobs, manufacturing jobs, etc - we get $1.57 back in productivity for ever $1 spent on our infrastructure. Helping new and floundering industries also helps those industries expand, creating new jobs. We previously spent money on bloated military budgets, not exactly the most productive spending out there.

  • (cont'd) I'm typing about more productive ways of spending, which have been put in the bill. Tax cuts aren't as productive/efficient. Also, helping out the State governments allows them to provide jobs and basics to their citizens as focus on other pressing issues. The role of government may be on the smaller side, but it still has role for it - neither anarchy nor creating a larger gap between the rich and the poor is a solution,

  • I was trying to make one simple point in my OP, not "points", and that was that legislators who did not support the finished plan, should not be criticized for exalting the parts of the plan that they did support or initiate. Something that you failed to address at all. Perhaps it is you who needs a "reading comprehension" course. My second post was merely pointing out the fact that government is an ever growing monster, and has been for many decades. (cont.)

  • (cont.)

As to the things you brought up. They may stimulate the economy for a short period, but the bill does nothing to stem the tide of jobs being imported overseas, (and if you think any "manufacturing" jobs this bill may produce, will actually stay in this country, you are really deluded). Nor does this bill address the massive quantities of cheap goods that are imported into this country, that could be taxed, or better yet, manufactured right here in America, putting people back to work.

  • Sorry, I meant to sa jobs EXported overseas.

  • First of all, the point of a stimulus bill is to provide for the creation of jobs that are needed immediately - hence, even if they are for a short period, they start the ball rolling. Secondly, Obama has discussed how "green" industry may require the jobs to stay within the United States. As mentioned, the bill is about jobs and stabilizing the economy - importing of goods into this country can be addressed through other means.

  • Regardless of the point (or points) you were attempting to make, I did address them. Like I said, perhaps you need to re-read my post. Based on the information I discussed, it makes absolutely no sense for legislators who provided provisions, and provided provisions that required spending, to whine about the "bloat" of the bill and how it doesn't create jobs (when it DOES create jobs) at the same time as they are patting themselves on the back about how many jobs they created. It is nonsense.

  • I guess we will have to agree to disagree, as I see no inconstancy's with hailing the parts of a plan that you do support, while at the same time denigrating the overall plan. People should stand up for the things they believe in, even if it's part of something they don't. I'm sorry you don't understand that concept. Sort of like throwing the baby out with the bathwater, it's never a good idea.

  • It's not about "standing up for things you believe in" - it's deriding the very "pork" that YOU created - it's claiming that the bill creates NO jobs and then turning around 2 seconds later and saying you brought jobs to your district through the bill - what part of this do you not understand?

  • I just watched the video again a couple of times, nowhere does it say what you are inferring here. Do you not understand the concept of NOT supporting an overall plan, that you may or may not have contributed a small part to, but then being able to take credit for the parts you DID support. Just what part of this concept don't you understand? Do you know anything at all about the nature of politics? When your side is defeated, you get what you can, it's just that freakin simple.

  • There are many Repubs calling the bill "porkulus" - which basically means that they are calling provisions put in by fellow Republicans "pork" as well - like THE VIDEO said, there were at least 5 Repub provisions, including one for over 2 billion dollars. The RNC Chair and other Repubs have claimed that the bill provides NO JOBS, that it should be all TAX CUTS - meanwhile the Repubs Cenk mentioned tout the JOBS they have created through their SPENDING PROVISIONS.

  • Though Republicans have been screaming about the "porkulus", Repub Governors are all too happy to take the money from "porkulus". Can you not see the hypocrisy in any of this? The only Repub governor who is not going to take it is Jindal - he SHOULD take it because LA is in the doldrums, but if anyone is standing up for what they believe in on the Repub side, it would be him.

  • Finally, by ONLY taking credit for the parts THEY put in, by deriding the entire bill and voting against the entire bill, they are basically spitting on their other fellow Republicans who put provisions into the bill as well.

  • That's all well and good, but not all that information was in this video. What I was commenting on was not all of this extraneous information, but the substance of the information portrayed. As far as "hypocrisy" is concerned, it's the main element of all politics, regardless of party affiliation. Finally, I see no spitting on other repubs, as they all knew none of them were voting for it anyway.

  • Forgive Cenk for thinking that some people actually have listened to the news or have actually been alive during the stimulus discussions - you can hear Repubs from every corner of the country stating the information that I mentioned but that was not completely in the video. We all know what politics can be at its basest level - that doesn't mean we have to congratulate Repubs for folding into their basest political instincts...

  • (cont'd) When you have someone screaming look at ME, look at what *I* did, oh and by the way the rest of the bill is shite so I am voting against it, then yes, you are spitting on the Republican provisions that ALSO make up the rest of the bill, regardless of whether you all agreed to vote no - it's just plain stupidity.

  • Whatever, as I said before, we'll have to agree to disagree. As far as I'm concerned ALL politicians are lying scum, and we would do well to replace them all, but we probably wouldn't fare any better.

  • That's a ridiculous generalization.

  • How many dissenters did we have on invading Afghanistan or Iraq, or the patriot act, or who haven't told us what we wanted to hear, just to get elected? How many have carried out on all of their campaign promises? How many knew they couldn't, but promised anyway?? Not ridiculous, just truthful.

  • Although I was not one of them, I think many Americans did want military action in Afghanistan and Iraq early on -- so I don't think the politicians' were solely out for their own interest. Politicians have to promise more than they can do in an election, because that's how the "election game" is played" - it is a necessary evil to get the job - and their reason for getting the job MAY be with good intentions. I think such a claim would be especially fallacious with regards to Dems

  • While the supposed philosophies of the two parties may differ, the both want to increase their power and overall size of government. All in direct violation of our constitution. In this regard, I see no difference between the two, and therefore distrust them all. The repubs want to restrict or eliminate certain rights, and the dems want to do the same to other rights, and they both want us to pay it. That is why I am, and always will be a libertarian, a party basically unrepresented by anybody.

  • What does your comment have to do with anything in the video clip?

  • Click on the link at the bottom that says "see all comments", and you too can follow along at home, with what led up to that comment. Don't forget to feel free to thumb down all my other comments, right along with the socialists who think that the "stimulus" is a grand idea, and that government is here to help.

  • When working in Republican Placer County during Jimmy Doolittle's last term, I was discussing the .22 cent raise I had just gotten after 7 years of service with my manager.

When the conversation turned to economic realities, I talked about how there was no logic in the numbers any more any more, and that we were headed for a crash. He said, "If I felt like you did, I couldn't go on". Seems my attitude was the problem.

That's how Republicans feel. If they have to face facts, they can't go on.

  • I love Cenk's expressions at the end. Facts? Logic? Who cares, we're Republicans.

  • Hahahaha! Unbelievable!!!

  • Facts and logic.... like dust in the wind.

  • It'd be interesting if those who voted against the bill weren't given any of the perks of it.

  • The republican party is as usually throwing their principles overboard in their eternal quest for money and power.

  • LOL "I'm a republican I don't care about the facts"

  • absurd! OMG

  • "I'm a Republican, I don't really care about the facts." They should run that as the party's national message.

  • HAHA, Repukelicons are stoopit.

  • Its a shame that these "republicans" are trashing the GOP's image. There are still real republicans like Ron Paul who actually meant it when he voted against the bill. The Real republicans of the GOP have to take their party back.

  • Correction, he's a Libertarian who joined the Republicans because the Libertarian Party doesn't win many elections.

  • True he did run as a libertarian and is pro constitution, but look at his positions and compare it to the true GOP platform

    -Cut taxes and Spending

    -No needless War

    -REAL Capitlism (axe the FED)

    -against department of education

    -Pro life

He's almost in lock step w/ the real GOP message and has won 10 straight elections as a Republican, so I no problem saying he's one.

  • It's too bad Paul doesn't realize that his economic policies would divide the country in half(rich versus poor). Chaos would likely ensue as the middle class became extinct. Economic policies like those supported by Ron Paul are the ones that got us into this current mess.

But at least seems to somewhat understand self-governance unlike the rest of the Republicans.

  • haha, its like they haven't learned that information and facts travel quickly now.

  • GOP Party is just a confused party. They don't know what to believe in before they don't believe in it. Since the stimulus has about 60% rating, no wonder some GOPs are FOR IT now. Doesn't surprise me their BY HOOK OR BY CROOK tactics to win.

  • republicans have NO morals. if their not lying their stealing or cheating! their mantra should be: do no work, take all the credit. screw up, pass the buck! they have done a phenomenal job making themselves out to be bottom feeders!

  • Closer and closer we are looking into the soul of the Republican party, if you can call it a soul or thing or breakwindamathing.

It was like watching a episode of the Simpson's.

The only way to win Republican's is to make the other party look bad. ok?

At this point it's the Republican's.

  • Politically bisexual? I guess the GOP want it both ways... They can take credit for AND complain about the bill at the same time...

  • Oh these Republicans are just devils! yaaaaaawn.

  • lol cenk you crack me up! Republican's = greedy people falsely stating that they are against spending which they aren't. BTW want proof? Read some of the stupid republican comments on youtube.

  • Incredible! I hope the Republican party dies out by the next two elections. Until the Republicans can actually prove to be credible and smart, I hope their party completely dies. Leave behind the Centrists and "Moderate" Republicans like Charlie Chris and Arnold Scwartzenegger. It seems they're the only types of Republicans that make any sense.

  • You can praise parts of it but still agree that it has bad parts too it.. also it could be that they helped change part of it even if they don't like the final bill and vote against it. So for example, I can get money for my district but still not like the bill in general(for example the fact it gives so much money to ACORN)

  • ACORN fraud was far overblown, and it is still at heart a program to encourage voter registration. Individual workers were the ones who made up names, and ACORN leaders were the ones who found the mistakes and removed them, making them public and fixing them themselves. But I agree with your main point.

  • I'll admit I don't know much about the whole ACORN thing, thanks for the reply!

  • Actually the Stimulus package giving money to ACORN is a lie and a Republican tactic to smear the Stimulus Package. Also ACORN is a legit organization that helps register voters and is currently helping people who have been foreclosed stay in their homes...

  • So Hughmanwho, why are republicans congratulating themselves for the bill when they were against it? and didn't even try try pass it? your statement is sounding lot like a republican, considering you are defending their action. If all republicans fought against it, how the hell should they be saying they did a good job?

  • "I'm a Republican, I don't care about the facts"

LOL, Cenk is so brutally HONEST!

  • I think of it like a school yard. The guy didn't want to look bad in front of his buddies, so he voted no. That's the whole nature of the two-party system.

  • i dont get it how can people suport the repulican party.

they keep telling people they got their backs when clearly they're for big money. they're such hypocrites

plus im not even sure if there really against the stimulus pakage, i just think they want more tax cuts put in to it, and make the tax cuts permanent.

  • i know how can any average american support this party of so called "republicans"

  • I understand whoever makes the least sense gets the biggest mic.

but Goddamn the Gop is talking to their constituents (lying to them but stll talking)

Democrats needs to speak the fuck up. make sure we know the good you're doing with the bills your working on.

If someone starts a rumor about you, and you keep silent and dont say shit, people are going to start believing retards spreading rumors.

Reporters shouldnt be the one to grill republicans on their lies. or dems for that matter

  • Just to add something for everyone to think about.

    Democratic politicans are fucking retarded.

Its obvious the republicans dont make a lick of sense.

Obama is untouchable. republicans recognize the politicals suicide by saying no to obama directly.

They can play politics and lie to people, they're the minority but notice how they're the overriding voice

I dont know a single democrat thats calling out the republicans that isnt on the Obama admin.

  • Lindsay Graham

can you think of a more fruity name?

  • Republicans are such unbelievable hypocrites!

  • go down back biters, down!

anyways, i pray something positive comes out of the stimulus bill just to SHUT the repubs up once and for all...

  • "anyways, i pray something positive comes out of the stimulus bill just to SHUT the repubs up once and for all... "

    Gee, that's no good!

If the Republicans shut up, there will be no-one to laugh at.

  • True!

  • We all know that as soon as the shit storm subsides and we pick up the pieces some republican is going to step in and claim it was the Grand ol' Party that is responsible for saving the country.

  • We all know this, if this bill works to a good degree then in 2010 the Republicans are going to get beaten down again.

  • So.. what. Did they think people just wouldn't... notice? We're dumb, but we ain't *that* dumb.

  • I don't know whether to laugh or cry at this falsehood....

  • At the time, I thought Sarah Palin was the largest possible Republican embarrassment. She's actually looking pretty good now, and that's the very sad.

  • I think that the stimulus is not going to work, because its too small, not because it was predestined to fail.

When Sweden stimulated its economy because of banking failure a couple decades ago, the plan ultimately spent 40% GDP.

In Japans lost decade, they had to spend 100% GDP in their rescue plan in order to recover.

Our plan is about 7% GDP.

  • It is a small start, that is what we get when we hold the hands of the republicans.

The biggest problem is whether this stim package will have enough of an impact for the people determined to keep their head in the sand.
