@supra0142 Well first of all, inline engines are gay. You can't get the torque curve or the earthquake of a v8 from anything else than a v8. In the end, a v8 will always be a better design than an inline engine for performance. Sorry. Mod for mod, boost for boost, v8 will always win. Hell, the cobra in this video still has a stock blower. A twin-screw or centri on around 12-15 psi and he'd be right there next to the supra, no need for a turbo, let alone two.

I somehow knew that the Supra got more horses for the SAME money thrown at it in mods as the Cobra. Supra usually has better horsepower gains from mods and is stronger engine.

But for N/A 100% stock and NO mods, can't go wrong with the Chevy.
Mod for mod, the Mustang gets more performance. More cubic inches allows more air, and more air equals more power. Please, please, PLEASE do some research before you spout random bullshit.

What's sad is that the Supra needs a turbocharger the size of a helicopter engine to produce big power and all the Cobra needs is a pulley swap. And then of course you could always turbocharge the Cobra, run 15 pounds of boost, and put bus lengths on a 600 hp Supra. Let's see what a Supra can do on 15 psi. Oh wait... nothing, they need 10,000,000 psi to go fast.

That made me laugh so hard.....Just because there your favorite kind of manufacture doesn't mean there the best cars ever made. PLUS the engine in a supra let alone is 15-25 grand to make 600 hp. Or you can spend 3-5 on a v8 that makes 600 hp. Just face it. There an amazing car no doubt about that, but to make it up to a V8's original standards it takes LOTS of money.

The Supra does have a smaller engine than a Mustang, and yes they do run 7's, they have even ran 6's. Vinny Ten ran his Supra on the quarter and scored a 6. I never said anything about money, so you are probably trying to fall back onto a different arguement, yeah it takes more money to take a smaller engine and make it have similar power to a car that has a bigger engine and naturally more power in it. I would rather have a Supra than a Rustang at the end of the day. umad

@acidburn134 A 6 second Supra is around 60 grand, That car with all of those "mods" is around 30-35k. And if the engine is properly built there's no leaks. Look dude, i'm not saying Supra's are shitty, There actually one of the ONLY rice rocket cars I like and i would love to have one.. But compared to a high compression V8, That car would would be left in the dust, Not on a track that's for sure, but in a full out head to head drag rice the Supra doesn't have a chance.

It has a lot to do with the gearing of the car and wether it's set up for acceleration, top speed, or if it's a balance. Yes the Supra has 100hp more than the cobra but how do you know if the numbers were switched that the outcome would be much different?

I somehow knew that the Supra got more horses for the SAME money thrown at it in mods as the Cobra. Supra usually has better horsepower gains from mods and is stronger engine.
Cobras and Chevy Corvettes probably (BIG probably) handle those levels of power, but still cost a lot more to get them up there.
But for N/A 100% stock and NO mods, can't go wrong with the Chevy.
