  • This video sucks.

  • @10000Sam00001 Shut it alternative personality. I actually think it's quite good.

  • @10000Sam00001 how does it suck? it lists every personality disorder.

  • music is so offensive. your terrible for even considering this music. btw, are autism, aspergers, ect. personality disorders?

  • @starfox991 Really? How is this even offensive? I'm a sufferer of depression with friends who have BPD and a boyfriend who has asperger's... this music isn't offensive, it sets the tone for the difficulty of these people's lives.

  • I have all if them and depression and scyzophrenia 0_o

  • I do tell people because its not my fault i never asked for it so yea i tell people if its necessary

  • If you have a personality disorder, do you easaly admit it to other people?

please someone respond id lik to know soon

  • @berenpoot39 the problem is that with ASPD, nobody will ever trust you again.

  • @quest847 so a person wont admit or they will easaly amit?

  • @berenpoot39 if you are a non-criminal ASP, you'll be viewed in a stereotypical way by ignorant people. That is, one of a criminal. I believe there's no benefit when diagnosed with ASP because they are also known for being 'untreatable'. So, how can one profit from such a diagnosis? They'll be forced to lie even more.

  • @berenpoot39 so no, they won't.

  • @quest847 so that only counts for anti social personality disorder, but does it mean the same with other disorders? that you wont admit?

  • @berenpoot39 nobody would be proud if they were diagnosed with ANY personality disorder, except a narcissist maybe. But sometimes they have no other option and they'll be forced to tell. So, tell me, what other PS wouldn't you trust besides antisocial?

  • Video very educational... Wish it were a little slower so I could read the wordings

  • whats with the music ? it ruined watching this video

  • Comment removed

  • Schizoid sums me up pretty well, along with just being generally paranoid.

  • very educational

  • Well I say everybody in this world have some type of personality disorder.

  • Personality disorder is a dated expression. the definition given at the start alludes to that, anyone that doesnt fit in! why all the discussion?

  • What if One Suffers From All of Them?

  • I'm pretty sure OCD is a anxiety disorder.

  • @ThoughtlessTV There's OCD which is Obsessive compulsive disorder. Then there's OCPD which is Obsessive compulsive personality disorder.

  • wow i have so many of these

  • My psych teacher used this video to show us the 10 disorders today

  • Extremely well done ans as a therapist I have used this video in presentations. Thanks Mandabear.

  • Avoidant fits me perfectly, but then, about half of all the symptoms displayed on the video are experienced by many people a lot of the time.

  • @rawssremix yeah but if its taken to the extreme thats when its know as a personality disorder.

  • I have BPD, MDD (Major depressive disorder) and maybe even more. God help me please. It ruining my life :(

  • @TashaRichardsonFan1 God won't help you. YOU have to help you, ask someone to help you heal.

  • @Azureluna

I can't find a therapist that would take my insurance :(

  • @TashaRichardsonFan1 move to canada

  • Great video. Im a nursing student with an exam coming up on psych content, including personality disorders. This viedo gave a simple overview of each of the 10 DSM Personality Disorders. THANKS!

  • i am amazed at how many people can post negative comments on things relating to topics regarding issues with mental illness.

  • Another symptom of a personality disorder is listening to Three Days Grace. It's like cutting, but for your ears.

  • Comment removed

  • im dependant : /

  • i like how people say the show symptomz of these disordez at timez....key word at timez....people who have theze disorderz feel like this all the time...and at time might feel normal.

  • lolz you freaks need to keep this stuff to yourself, no one really cares to hear it.

  • @Americanizzle and thats what makes you an ignorant twat :)

  • @xsloanyxx how is it ignorant? it's based on observation. anytime someone with obvious mental problems joins a group, everyone else feels awkward. Normal people just want to pretend that you don't exist, but you force your problems on them.

  • This is absurd... Every personality fault is regarded as personality disorder in this video. And who cares if one has many disorders? Damn..

  • @basketgirl712 Yeah i noticed that too but i think its's only considered a personality disorder if these faults are took to a extreme level.

  • There is a fundamental problem with basing the structure of a taxonomic diagnosis of disorders and breaking it in to categories purely based upon symptoms, which quit clearly cross over and overlap in expressed behaviour, while not paying enough attention to the underlying dysfunction in brain geography and intra brain communications.

  • Wow i have the first three ...What does that mean.

  • Damn it!

  • Awesome vid!!! My professor used it in our lecture powerpoint.

  • yesterday I was diagnosed with avoidance personality disorder. I hate my life...

  • i'm a paranoid schizotypical, histronic, avoident, borderline, Bi Polar 13 year old, with the negative symptoms of schizophrenia, damn my personality is fucked up

  • Comment removed

  • The Paranoid Personality Disorder characteristics of 'Concern that people have hidden motives' and 'Expectation to be exploited by others' sounds like my mum and ppl in Hong Kong because they're too ambitious and always want to be one at the top. And psychology is not popular in Hong Kong. I don't wanna go back to Hong Kong. I wanna stay in America.

  • Damn this sounds like me, although the word 'antisocial' is not what most ppl think it is and I'm not that!!! I also absolutely do not have borderline personality disorder!!! Anyway, I think a lot of people have these problems to a mild extent.

  • I'm a paranoid antisocial schizoid. Just the way I like it.

  • I was diagnosed with OCD and BPD a few years ago and I am coping, but of course I do have my bad days, even with medication and therapy, which I've doing going on 5 years now! Drug free for 8 years now! I've really enjoyed your videos, keep it up!

  • good video but a bit scary

  • i should also mention that people are trained to diagnose this stuff see them for a diagnosis not a friend

  • please note that many of us can relate to these traits however that dosnt mean you have a personality disorder. they are concidered a disoreder when you have a psychological dysfunction associated with distress or impairment in functioning that is not typical. key words here are dysfunction and impairment. personality disorders should be taken seriously, they are very real and very painful

  • I have some of the trait of Borderline Personality Disorder but my therapist said it not BPD, it called trauma from my past :(

  • I'm sure starving people in Africa would fit many of these descriptions, however they don't acknowledge it because they have REAL problems.

  • @jmerridew124 Oh really, so being mentally tormented to the extent that you self destruct is not a real problem? Maybe if my African father had of learned to deal with his emotional issues he wouldn't have been so abusive and neglectful towards me and my sibilings.

  • @monalisa02 Boo fucking hoo, you didn't get a lot of hugs and he occasionally smacked one of you for being a smart ass. Your problems are either negligibly petty, or so far in the past that it's pathetic that you still focus on it. Get. Over. It. It's called not being a bitch. Look into it.

  • @jmerridew124 I find it hilarious that you assume to know EXACTLY what my father put my siblings and I through when I gave you no indication or inkling whatsoever. You don't sound as resilient as you would like to present yourself; you sound like an punk in need of some therapy.

  • @jmerridew124 Tell me, what actions do you control? You took the time out to WATCH a video specifically devoted to those with personality disorders simply so you can bully them and trivialize their life experiences. Are you that enraged that you feel the need to prey on other people... ON THE INTERNET? You are so resilient, yet you feel the need to bring up the fact that you believe that your life was more traumatic then mine. If you were so resilient you wouldn't even try to compare. Grow up!

  • @monalisa02 A personality disorder is a medically named excuse to be an asshole and get away with it by citing a medical "professional." I just find it funny how hard and difficult you think your life was when it was probably just as easy if not easier than most anyone else on this site. You act like a douchebag, then cite a bad childhood or a disease you diagnosed for yourself. Taking responsibility for your own actions is out of the question. I don't need to grow up, but clearly you do.

  • @jmerridew124 You are clearly dense. Show me where in my comments do I even mention having a personality disorder? Also, how do I act like a douche bag.. why because I am analytical and can clearly see that your need to bully people on cyberspace is a sign of misery? This entire time you have made BASELESS assumptions. Don't even bother to respond to my comments if you can't even come up with an APPLICABLE rebuttal; pulling weak shit out of your ass (which you clearly like to do) won't suffice!

  • @jmerridew124 - People in Africa don't have daily pressure to succeed in their life like we do in our society.

Different issues, invalid argument - try again.

  • @Flam3o Actually their pressure is identical to ours except in scale. We have to not fail or we don't get money. They have to not fail or they die. They understand how trivial these "diseases" are and don't bother with them.

  • @jmerridew124 You speak so adamently of the kids in African and other third world countires. Why don't you get the fuck off of youtube and actually help them out instead of trying to trivialize the tramatic childhoods of people you don't know. Why did you even take the time out to watch a video devoted to people with personality disorders if you are such an apathetic douche bag? Maybe if you had the slightest sense of compassion you wouldnt be so miserable :)

  • @monalisa02 I'm not miserable because I refuse to wallow in the self pity you spew about your disciplining father. We all have problems, I work with them. I control my actions and cognitive abilities and limitations. You're a whiny little faggot. I'd bet money your childhood was a breeze next to mine and yours must have been pretty privileged because no one with a hard life bitches about it.

  • @jmerridew124 Faggot? bitch? What type of self respecting man would refer to a woman, or any person in general, with such deragotory terms and then in the same breathe say "i am not miserable". You are miserable, and you are living off of a psuedo sense of resilience because you are to much of a punk to admit that you are emotional scarred by your life experiences. A true sign of resilience and inner strength is compassion NOT triviializing and bullying. Grow up.

  • A couple of things. First you dont diagnose yourself. You can have traits of any of these, especially under stress or crisis situation. Second, a very well experienced psychiatrist would NEVER make an Axis II diagnosis based on a couple of interviews. And third (hmm did I say a couple of things), the only therapy I suggest for any of these is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Look it up, look for someone trained in it, practice it, live it. Your life will make progress once and for all.

  • My sister I suspect has anti social personality disorder. Her idea of the perfect relationship with me is one where she verbally, emotionally, and physically abuses the crap out of me and I WORSHIP HER FOR IT, calling her, "My Lord and Master". She calls the act of physically abusing me her "beautiful birth right" and a "thing of beauty". She complains about how much she hates being nice to others and how the world is supposed to revolve around her but doesn't.

  • I don't see any of these as "disorders"

  • ,,,yes i agree we all have these traits...but when its diagnosed as a disorder its because no matter how you try you continually destroy every thing and nearly every one in your life...jobs (many) college (attempt 5 times) self harm (100s of hours at hospital stitches and 2 opps for mayor damage) trouble with police (quite a few) addictions...and nearly committed a few times.....but i am a super artist and hope to save the world...we all have our cross to bear :P x

  • I agree with you Mandabear i was first diagnosed with manic dep when very young, then bipolar, now they think and resisted me disabled with bpd, along with traits of other disorders here, i have been taking meds and having treatment for 20 years now, i am always trying to improve my life and hoping to set up my own charity/business, so its certainly not easy to GET OVER IT, believe me i would have by now,i am lucky i have had a good life, main is down to plain old brain old brain disfunction x

  • To Poo: Um excuse me, Borderline personality disorder is one out of ten that is listed in the DSM, if you're going to make a comment at least make sure it's something accurate.. because you have no idea what your talking about

  • @Mandabear1234 Did you base this on the DSM-IV-TR?

  • which is this song,. please anyone of you reply.

I am suffering from Broder line personality disorder, Philosophy Hon 3 year student India New delhi.

  • @superAtheist100 The song is Get out alive by Three days grace

  • think there call it border line personaity disorder there not like 10 off them lmfao theres one name for it n did you know its something u can get over

  • This ROCKS!! Well Done! THANK YOU!!

  • Holy F*** Ihave a lot of em as much as i know Paranoid Schizoid Schizotypal

Historonic Schizopheria caus i noticed im seeing things like shadowy person am not anti social but am a good propagandist /christmatic /orator

it sucks a lot to live with these things on your back am even afraid of people around me

    Should i seek treatment?

  • nice PSA. is this your way of crying about your strange mash-up of personality disorders? i have a new one you can make a sad powerpoint of- it's called hypochrondia and it means you're an asshole. great use of a three day's grace song by the way. there's one use for them

  • i have organic personalty disorder..

  • Basic Lee, there are three personality types, Lover, Warrior, Philosopher.

Oh, primary school teachers, they can be easily predicted, apparently by age too...

  • Pretty sure I have Schizoid Personality Disorder.

I can't even speak properly or stay focused on anything for more than five minutes before daydreaming again or forgetting what was said before or wanting to spontaneously combust.

And counseling is a total load. End of story.

  • Actually I have most of these. Almost all but that was when I was a child... I've grown out of it.

    Some of them...

I'm fucked up man.. I need to be in a insane asylum. :|

  • @ToastOfDOOMM Insane asylum's are for people who are legitamitly mentally insane, also insane people don't know their insane. So I think you don't need to be put in an asylum.

  • @SnaacPac Apparently you don't know when a person is kidding. :|

  • The opening statement shows again the mental "health" movement has zero to do with biological health, but rather its members are out to slander individuality by terming it "deviance" and "disorder" they seek to legitimize intolerance of nonconformity. They in no way advocate "live & let live," rather their stance is, "live the way we say to live or else we'll start defaming you by slapping nasty labels on you in attempt to injure your reputation!" OUTLAW MENTAL HEALTH CULT IMMEDIATELY.

  • @skirts365 thats right hitler was totally sane, poor guy we labelled him a sadisti psychopath, those evil mental health cults......Shut you stupid ass, psychiatrists are our last defence against evil....soon we will be able to finger print all malignant predatory selfishness and we will remove their ability to infiltrate leveraged positions in society and wreck havoc....

  • @AntiPsychopath I see you're 15 years of age. Not long enough to know what's happening. I suggest you look up what your psychiatrist friends have said about Ron Paul. The American Psychiatric Association still uses symbol of Benjamin Rush, who said Blacks skin color was caused by "disease." They will not repudiate errors of earlier psychiatrists. I also suggest you read articles in the American Mercury re the mental "health" (social conformity) movement, which Ron Paul OPPOSES (Big Pharma)!

  • @skirts365 No i know well enough of what is going on. i am not 15 i dont remember how that got there. Think what you want. All those that see their fellow men as pray and assume predatory roles is society, will eventually join their friends in the jungle, the only place where they deserve to be. Psychiatrists will just help us scan them so that we can boot them effectively.......they have no hope.

  • Mandabear1234- Can i use this video for abnormal pyschology. i am doing a report over personality disorders, and i believe this would be PERFECT for it. But first i need your persmission, since it is your work.

  • "tendency to believe that relationships are more intimate than they actually are" this describe most of the girls who get into relationships with any of my circle of friends (with the exception of me, as I can't stand most people). I've known my circle for 15 years and when I see those girls hanging on their arms I inwardly think "you have absolutely no idea".

  • so personality disorders are something that needs treatment? thats quite offensive!

  • thanks for the video...

  • normal people feel bad and make it right, psychos don't.

  • youtube is not a proper place to talk about psychological disorders; most videos focus on what can be called "revenge labeling."

"oh, I know someone like that!" when in fact, everyone displays a mental disorder trait every now and then. The difference between "the rest of us" and true psychopaths, is that psychopaths take it to extremes, like maliciously comitting a crime and ignoring someone for 5 years running (and counting).

  • I have borderline personality disorder... and obsessive compulsive personality disorder... AND I'm paranoid... Jeeze, I'm messed up O.O

  • no you don't dude; people who are truly mentally ill are incapable of admitting it.

  • im fucked in the head and i tell people everyday

  • watch out for people with true antisocial personality disorder. they will manipulate you with their superficial charm and over self-confidence, and mixed with a little bit of narcissism will use you for everything you've got just to get what they want. in the end leaving you high and dry and they feel no remorse or guilt. you will still feel sorry for them though if you're the caring type, but you must not give in and go back to that relationship if it's curving your path in life.

  • @globaltrance86 That is exactly How My dad is.

  • Rather be that than a guy calling someone a douche.

  • I have at least one of every symptom from the shown disorders, except the "needy" ones and breaking of the law. Oh well.

  • This is the best video I've run across regarding this. I wish, however, that the entire time the symptoms of that disorder were being shown, the disorder those symptoms were regarding remained showing statically. Perhaps at the very too or very bottom of the video. Outstanding video though.

  • This is good...but it was way too fast

  • i have bpd, bloody messes ya hole lify up!!! but hey atleast in good in bed, lol

  • HOW ??

  • Take it from someone with a degree in Psychology, everyone feels and displays all of these traits at some point. It has to be severe, persistant, and disruptive to be considered a disorder. This video kind of oversimplifys things.

  • the video is talkin about people with personailty DISORDER

they wouldnt call it disorder if it wasnt severe persistent devastating....

take it from someone who has a degree in PSYCHIATRY

  • I pretty sure i have Borderline Personality Disorder, but my psychiatrist and therapist don't want to diagnose me with it. They think i only have depression.

  • then u dont !

  • Great vid!

  • hmmmm interesting

  • but thats the point of them being called personality disorders. a lot of us may identify ourselves with the 'traits' listed here. but unless they become patterns of thought that disrupt our daily functioning.. they can hardly be called personality behaviours.

  • a lot of these seem to be reactions. Like, if you put me into such a situation, I would act like that too, but if I didn't have worth, I guess I would take these like bullets, especially if I did not have anysort of self realization, self-awareness.

  • Comment removed

  • l have some of those traits but dont a lot of us l am anti social at times but that because l dont trust most people

  • Whats the song?

  • I suffer from Paraniod PD.

  • atleast u found something to work on, i am still finding my stuff to work on.

  • We are gotta learn about personality disorder tomorrow at my Abnormal psychology class. It gotta be very interesting.

  • The clip isent that good, to much picks and the text moves to fast. Good info tho.

  • Pause to read it.

  • I think we all have some of these characteristics, but I definitely had an avoidance personality disorder when I was younger. I operated within a small bubble of "safety," and was criticized for it quite a bit. I couldn't afford therapy, so I put myself through my own version of immersive therapy, playing guitar and singing before crowds despite my almost paralyzing stage fright, working as a bartender, going on a cross-country bike trip, starting my own business, etc.. It definitely helped!

  • So do Historic PD mean that person is a drama queen or king?

  • wow! great video. Thank you for putting it up. I knew a little about each but It's been a while sense I reviewed.

  • very good an song is perfect for it!

  • The way in which I differentiate the two;

Histrionic is more of a passive Personality Disorder, where as Narcissistic is more of an aggressive Personality Disorder - but have similar traits. (but this is only a personal opinion).

Thanks for posting this video... I was searching for clips related to Narcissism, but this is great.

Also, countless people display one or more of these traits, this does not mean you are clinically certifiable. If in doubt, seek advice from a Psychiatrist.

  • I wouldn't call a Histrionic passive by any means. HPD can be as volatile and aggressive as the BPD. Also seek advice from an LPC, MSW, ect

  • Comment removed

  • Good, informative video.

  • So believing you can tell who's sincere and honest by just looking them, or know if you like someone or not immediately... after making brief eye contact.. is called magical beliefs? Schizotypal? Hmmmk.

I'm more odd than I thought...

  • I have a link below to a blog you should check out, curious to hear what you think of this person.

Also your thoughts on socialized sociopaths.

    constructedcharisma . blogspot . com

  • Do Historic PD and Narcissistic PD similar or difference?

  • What's the name of the song?

  • get out alive

  • i have ocd! i hate my life!

  • Is there treatment for Anti-personality disorder? or do they just lock them up in jail?

  • This is a nice informative video. After extensive research about why our society has a preoccupation w/ mental health issues, I have come to believe that european thought is the "disease" in itself. A child is born with a pure, unique personality that is instantly forced to accept inherit toxic parenting & the untruths of society. ex: santa is a lie that is used as a weapon/reward around a pagan holiday masked as the b-day of jesus, but the child is suppose to be honest. total confusion lives on

  • I suspected that i may have BPD (Borderline personality Disorder) or DPD-Dependant personality disorder. i am always very clingy.

  • this really haleped me. I am taking psychology and it really helped me to remember the different personalities! thanks!

  • The big ones are:

    1. Blame

    2. Denial

Combine these two, and you've got a real mess.

  • hehe used the three dots for mysticism i see

  • There is no such thing as normal .. . I'm sure everyone has some of those characteristics, it's only till they affect personality and judgement that they might be considered a disorder

  • Normality is a delusional illusion created by society...

  • @greatvideo2 The word Typical is also a Illusion as well.Typical means the same but nobody is exactly the Same person(even a clone of yourself can Have differences such as Personality etc).

  • I have almost all of them

  • me too

  • This was a really great video. Thanks!

  • thanks for it...

    nice job=)

  • what's the name of this song?

  • Get Out Alive, by Three Days Grace.

  • Thanks for the info.

  • very helpful, but I read too slowly to get everything at once :S probably my fault

  • thanks so much ;)

nice video =) its really helpful.

  • dont know what to say.. nice edit and i love it :)
