you are creating fallacy by asserting that something can only be healthy if is "natural". this is not to say that flinstones is a healthy suppliment. but the comparison is valid. there is more nutritional value is that "candy" than wheatgrass and it tastes better too.
wheatgrass is nothing more then expensive water and fiber. if you just find your superfood, let it be broccoli.
You are so full of shit it's coming out of your mouth...! You complete jackass....what's your beef with superfoods you silly cunt !? They wokr...YOU SUCK !
lmao somebody who thinks man made pills are more healthy natures food. i think ill stick with the wheatgrass buddy. all i gotta say is dont knock it till you try it, cause ive been on both sides of the argument....and i aint never going back to yours ;)
@Aberusugi i understand that, my point i was making was that im not going to trust somebody who talks in support of the doctors and medical community, that a huge majority of our country goes to, when a crapload of the people in our country have some kind of illness. its funny, people always want to knock people who do hollistic nutrition when the people who do that are 10x healthier. the doctors just went to keep you from true health so you can keep spending your money on their pills lol
@MrSupasexi So you admit to a personal bias against doctors, medical science, and the results it has so overwhelmingly provided. Are all of us really all that sick, I was under the impression that a majority of children live to adulthood in our country, whereas back in the 19th century when most people used "natural" remedies more than half died.
@Aberusugi yes most people are really that sick, all these little things that most people just consider "normal" things that come with old age (arthritis, bone weakening, eye problems) can all be cured with a proper raw diet like this. look up mimi kirk, thats what a healthy 71 year old should look like, not some old, frail lady who cant walk without a walker.
@Aberusugi people back then still werent using "my kind of medicine". they were still eating a diet full of breads and meats and all that shit. the only difference is they didnt have modern "medicines" full of synthetic chemicals that we do now, which stuff the illnesses down and supress for a little longer but there not truely curing the illness. but hey man if you wanna keep buying into the "health" industries lies so they can make a quick buck off you fin by me. ill choose true health.
@MrSupasexi Also before the revolution of medical science if you had arthritis, bone weakening, or eye problems, you became a useless member of society, and there was no treatment whatsoever, just pseudoscientific treatments with a psychosomatic effect.
@MrSupasexi And can you show me the source for your contention that people that use holistic medicine are exactly 10 times healthier? How do you quantify that health?
lol this video is a joke right? I can't take advice from an unhealthy looking guy. Yeah its better to take a pill thats been made in a lab than to eat natural living foods lol some people are think as shit.
@shadowmax889 I'll tell you what baffles me. Theres been decades of research into raw living foods (The China Study for example) as well as many institutes such as Hippocrates who have done clinical research over the last 50 years on the effects of a raw food diet on the human body. They are masses of people who have cured horrific disease as well as slowed the aging process there. I've been in contact with some of them and have recieved some fantastic advice from them for my own health.
@shadowmax889 I wasn't disagreeing with that part. I was disagreeing with his opinions on wheatgrass and how he seems to think that consuming mineral/vitamin pills is just as good even though recent research shows that these pills can actually contribute to disease and aging.
@shadowmax889 Wheatgrass was suggested to me as it contains more beta carotene than carrots as i have a condition called achromatopsia) and its been literally life changing. I don't think a placebo effect would give me better vision as well as improve my colesterol, heart pressure and blood sugar levels. This is the same guy who says fast food isn't "that bad" for you even though volumes of science disagrees.
@leahcimrac Yes but the real content of betacarotene in Wheatgrass juice is less than 10 μg/100g wich is far less than carrots (8285 μg/100g) check yourself. Fast food is only bad if you eat more calories than you spend, that is what he said. It doesn't mater if you eat at home, fast food or in other restaurant, eating to much calories is eating to much calories, wherever they came from, fast food, Starbuck, smoothies, restorant, home meal. Eating a balanced diet is what makes you healthy.
@shadowmax889 Well everyones intitled to their opinions. I tried carrot juice as well as well as cooked and raw carrots. Its not just teh Beta Carotene though its the Animo acids, Lutein, Zeaxanthin and Vitamin C. Surely you agree that eating foods for their nutrition is better than taking a chemical pill. Pills don't exist in nature and afterall we're the result of nature. I'm not trying to be nasty or anything I'm just expressing my personal experience. Wheatgrass has been incredible for me.
@leahcimrac the chemicals in those pills are te same in the food. The body doesn't care if a vitamin is ingested as a pill or as a vegtable, the only diference is that the vitamins and minerals in the pill are purified. I recomend you to go to his web site skeptoid(dot)com. He said that vitamins suplements are innefective and in some cases bad.
@shadowmax889 Vitamins and minerals that exist in foods are balanced with each other and have a natural ratio. Pills are wickedly fortified with vitamins that aren't needed and in fact can cause damage to the system. Ever heard of Vitamin A poisoning? A friend of mine who also have a vision impairment had it years ago. Vits and mins also need oxygen to be transported efficiently around the body hence we need the oxygen in food to help with that. Theres also no emzymes in pills.
@leahcimrac "Natural ratio" is a non sence and is not true. Vitamins can be poisen if you take too much WHEREVER THEY CAME FROM and depending of the Vitamin. Vitamins do not need oxigen or enzymes for absortion. Enzymes are proteins and as such are digested by the GI trackt so they cann not function once they reach the acid in the stomach. Some need help to be absorved (like A, D, E, K wich are lipophylic and need Biliary salts), B12 only need a IF (intrinsec factor) syntetised by stomach.
@shadowmax889 One the first point: You don't believe that natural food contains a "correct" amount of nutrients for the body thus there is no need for vitamin pills? Second point: I agree that eatting or taking too much of anything can be bad, butI've never heard of anyone dying from drinking juice and I know alot of fruitarians, liuidarians who drink gallons of thiese kind of foods and are in perfect health. I have heard of people getting sick from vita/minerr pills though.
@leahcimrac First Point: Yes i agree that there is no need for vitamin pills unless you have some kind of deficiency and in pregnancy. A good healthy balanced diet is enough for most of us.
Second point: Frutarians do not have a balanced diet, they lack of nutrients that are only found/better absorved in animal products.
The fact that you never heard someone dying for eating only fruit do not mean that is a healthy diet. No nutritional profesional will ever recomend one-kind-of-food type diet
@shadowmax889 Ok fair points. I'm simply mentioning the facts i'm not telling you something you already know. Fruitarians eat fruits, nuts, seeds and small amounts of veg, so I wouldn't call it one type of food diet. Also the two guys (fruitarians ) I'm refering too both run marathons, train with weight and have medically documented "perfect" health. I don't believe we need much animal products as sprouts, seavegetables, nuts and seeds provide a great amount of protein and iron etc.
@shadowmax889 i admit i need to read up on digestive enzymes ahah. I know pills don't contain them, but I thought theyhelped absorb nutrients in the GI tract and minimuly in the stomach. Again all I can go on is what i know from experience. I've tried shitloads of pills from the store, but as soon as i started juicing veg and especially wheatgrass my vision improved incredibly. People can throw as much science as they like at me, but the results at the othamologist speak for themselves.
@leahcimrac You can keep juicing your Vegs!!!! they good and tasty!!!!. I drink a lot of friut juice every day myself but you don't need Wheatgrass juice, Any veg have more vitamins and minerals than Wheatgrass juice and are far less expensive (and more tasty). Eat well but no belive in miracle food
@shadowmax889 lol i know I love them. I personally eat veg, fruit, wild herbs and plants, seaveg, nuts, seeds, mushrooms, coconut water and sometimes raw fish like prawns and mussells. I get my wheatgrass for free and I make my own compost with local soil from a farm near my home. I'm not pushing wheatgrass infront of other foods I'm simply saying its a great food and can be very beneficial. Again I'm going on my personal experience in this. I'm not a scientist as you can tell :)
I should also point out that you neglected to mention the placebo effect.
Sure, wheat grass is most certainly an unnecessary and probably useless additive, however, I have known a few people who were convinced that it kept them healthy. The placebo effect is pretty darn powerful... as long as it isn't actually *unhealthy*, so what if it cost some people a few dollars a shot... if they believe in the product.
Although, I have to disagree about the vitamin pill reference. Medical science is finally coming to the conclusion the most vitamin pill supplements may actually do more harm than good. In fact, some brands have been found to be contaminated with toxins.
HHI have been using wheatgrass juice for 55 years for building health. lf there were better things for health building then HHI would stop using grass and would use something else. HHI do sometimes stop using certain foods when they discover some better, but wheatgrass juice has always been there.
Brian Dunning...contact the people at Hippocrates Health lnstitute in Florida and at least speak to Brian Clement. HHI could make better money selling drugs, but they get people on grass juice.
l have a shallow lung capacity and used to only be able to walk a fgew steps before being puffed out. Since living on sprouts and drinking loads of wheatgrass juice l can now walk up the steepest hills without being puffed out what so ever. Yes, consuming wheatgrass juice and other raw plant foods on a consistant basis does oxygenate the body, l have proven this to myself. The world health leaders Hippocrates Health lnstitute (HHI) know this too.
@TheSproutarian Sir, SIR! I'm gonna have to ask you to calm down. It may be something we call asthma. Also, go to a doctor about this stuff, never try to be our own. You don't see medical professionals doing your job.
I love this series, and its weird seeing all the people commenting telling him he's wrong. I think he did a little more (and a lot better) research, and opponents are just clinging to their beliefs in the myths he's debunking.
Yep, l have wheatgrass everyday also and feel fantastic when l do. When l miss a day l feel off. The sock puppet comment wouldn't surprise me, his research was very poorly done, maybe big pharma got to him so the can keep people drugged up and away from good healthy foods. Big pharma like to keep people unwell so they can keep selling people drugs.
Google " youtube, Dr. John Rengen Virapen pharmaceutical company whistleblower", that will explain everything.
To all the people saying, " oh, he's wrong. wheatgrass does such and such to prevent x disease. One thing it doesn't do is make you keep your opinions to your goddamn selves. Just because he MAY be wrong in some parts of the video, does not automatically label him as a fraud! Look at some of his other videos, then come back here if you have the balls to prove me wrong as well!
Speak to one of the world's leading experts Brian Clement about wheatgrass juice. He is in the best position to speak of the benefits because he has used it in clinical research for over 35 years. You have not done the right thing by releasing this video.
@TheSproutarian or maybe he has, have you done the things he's said in the video? No? probably because you've been too busy cramming your throat with that stuff. check the label, your tune'll change
Be cool and stay calm man. lf you have wheatgrass juice, algae, and sprouted foods each day and NO meat, you will not have these anger issues and feel so threatened. Most meat eaters have anger issues, l used to be the same. lf you turn away from meat and turn towards wheatgrass, sea vegeatables and sprouts..you will be filled with feelings of love and won't be blown out by what other people like myself say.
l don't believe most of the wheatgrass hype, l have studied proper sources.
" How do you get your protein if not in your meat?"
From sprouted nuts, sprouted seeds, some sprouted legumes, algae's, sea vegetables and sprouted grass juices. On the raw sproutarian diet my muscle mass has increased much more than it ever was on a cooked meat diet. Meat has low net protein utilisation and cooking further destroys protein utilisation.
Lots of available protein on raw vegan diet. Check it out, you will be surprised.
@TheSproutarian alright, going away from the nutrition part of meat, what other use would we have for things like cows and chickens (other than milk and eggs)? nothing... they would just be processed for that and given even more crap than what we do to them now. Going on from that, sure the corpses might be turned into compost, but that would attract predators, threatening the rest of the livestock. After that, you lose the things to make bread and carbohydrate-type products.
Volleybrain isn't correct in many of the things he says. Enzymes may be destroyed in the stomach but they are still absorbed in the mouth. Wheatgrass is low in vitamins and minerals, but it is one of the richest sources of phytonutrients on earth. Scientists at the Uni of Oregon have shown that phytonutrients prevent and destroy every form of cancer known to man.
Don't know about the oxygen facts, but when someone low in breath takes raw sprouts and wheatgrass juice they can breath better.
@TheSproutarian he probably forgot to mention that those so called, "scientists" are most likely marketers, that's all it's been. and the breathing thing? This isn't gonna cure you of your asthma and Bronchitis. Most importantly, keep your opinion to your goddamn self.
You write "keep your opinion to your goddamn self". You sound very angry and come across as threatened and out of your depth. Are you connected with this `in fact' nonsense? You also say the scientists at the Uni of Oregon are "Most likely marketers"? No. Speak to Hippocrates Health Institute and ask them about their 55 years of clinical studies with wheatgrass juice and see what they say. You and Brian Dunniung are out of their depth with this one, you both have struck out.
this guy is scary... grass isn't trendy. it's nature... i'm mono-eating, wheatgrass, like a natural animal, right now, and i feel good. I just learned how to do a backflip; it healed my bones, brain, and body. i'm sorry sir, brian, that your mind has been poisoned by "city / space food". But please, everyone, thumbs up this comment, if you want this guy to remove this video from the public.
Brian, have you tried eating nothing but wheatgrass, for over 1 year? I'm flagging this video.
Can you please supply us with the resource that gave you the nutrition facts with mostly 0%. When I look up the nutrition facts I see it has all type of nutrition. I've yet to find a resource that shows anything close to the results in your video. Or maybe this is a gag video and you're just joking??
@TBAL285 hmm, that looks like it's the nutrition facts to Jamba Juice's wheatgrass drink, not just a shot of freshly made wheatgrass. Jamba probably pasteurizes it on top of other things that takes away from the nutrition. here is a link for the nutrition facts of a homemade shot of wheatgrass. much different nutrition facts than the Jamba Juice product: bit(dot)ly/tvtuyH
@ilikemyrealname If you go to Jamba juice they have a patch of wheatgrass growing, and they cut it off and put it in a blender. Don't know why you think their wheatgrass is different.
@Aberusugi I did not realize that they juiced it fresh there which is why I figured it would be different. now I'm really confused because why then do they have such different nutrition facts if they are juicing it fresh? besides Jamba, I've yet to find a resource online that listed it with such poor nutrition. I have not drank wheatgrass so I'm un-bias. I'm just fascinated by this video and Jamba stating such different facts than what I've read pretty much anywhere else.
@ilikemyrealname So you assumed that they don't juice it fresh. All the sources I have looked at on the internet agree with this video, I would like you to message me your source that shows that it is significantly higher in numerous minerals and vitamins as to debunk the video, and you should submit that information and source to skeptoid's brian dunning at his site so he can amend his wrongs.
@Aberusugi yes like I said I assumed that because it was so much lower than other sources I've seen. here's a link I posted from someone else's comment with very different nutrition facts. bit(dot)ly/tvtuyH I've been unable to find facts similar to Jamba so if you could supply me with a link, I would greatly appreciate it. again, I'm non-bias, just curious to what the real truth is after finding such opposite 'facts'. thanks for your time!
@ilikemyrealname Even then with that source wheatgrass would not be a significant contributor to your diet the way a flinstones pill would, and the wheatgrass shot costs a lot more.
@ilikemyrealname And I sent you a message with a daily value of the link you showed me here. To get the same amount of nutrients and minerals you get from the flintstones pill you would need about 20 shots of wheatgrass juice, even based on the numbers you showed me here.
@ilikemyrealname Also pasteurization doesn't necessarily make something less nutritious. People used to claim this with milk, pasteurization actually has the effect of making it easier for the body to absorb the nutrients as fate would have it.
@Aberusugi wow thank you very much for all the info! I'll check out that email you sent me when I get a sec. I really appreciate all the time you took to converse with me.
P.S. For your information, grass is not the "key to health". Health is as simple as: put in your mouth what your species was meant to put in its mouth. If you start to fuck with this rule, you fuck with your health. Piss in your gas tank tomorrow. See how healthy your vehicle is. Now get this analogy through your brainwashed skull. It may take you several years. Best of luck. Yes, grass is eaten by almost all animals on Earth in some way shape or form, and yes, it is healthy.
Let's let karma have its way with this walking talking 100% complete and total idiot. On behalf of everyone who suffered intensely from the lies of governments, pharma, and mafia run "food" suppliers - may you experience 1/1,000,000,000th of what these people endured. If you awaken to a hawk pecking off your testicles, you still will not have put a dent in your bad karmic load!
Can you imagine putting this guy in a room with people who previously had "terminal illnesses" but saved themselves by realizing the basic physics of health. I am sure he would rather be in a room filled with blood thirsty tigers. Fucking with people's health is a serious fuck up. Spreading disinformation about health is a serious fuck up. Arnhold Ehret slipped from a new pair of shoes? Who killed Arnold Ehret? Arnold Ehret dared speak the truth...
My logic isn't that it's flawed because it makes profit. Learn to READ.
It's flawed because it doesn't have the nutritional benefits that people say.
And in the comment you responded to, the point was that people like me could go grab the grass that grows out of any old lawn and make a profit from gullible morons.
@JesterAzazel Wanna know what is gullible? Look how large Coca Cola is. Look what they are selling. Look at cow's milk, for fuck's sake. Humans are the only species on Earth to obtain milk from another species and consume it in massive quantities. If there's one thing we should all agree on, it's that each species should stick to its own milk. Pasteurized and denatured cow's milk, let alone normal cow's milk, causes almost every disease you can think of. Crohn's, asthma, IBS, acne, ...
SO, gullible indeed, to fork out money for a disgusting liquid like this, that is destroying your health because evidently you don't need milk from another animal! No worries, peer reviewed journals funded by altruistic, God-like pharmacists with no financial stake recommended a bazillion different lovely drugs to temporarily alleviate my symptoms until my body is so aggravated that it one day fails entirely..it's so sick...
Your opinion of the peer review process is irrelevant. If it doesn't fit with your delusions, that's not my problem.
You can go on and on about things that have nothing to do with my question, you can laugh and try to insult me, but you apparently can't back up your claims..
Yeah right eat a full meal of pestacide loaded vegetables and nutrient lacking and you will be allright thats bull..cooked vegetables have little vitamins left in them.Wheat grass is pure and living and all vitamins are unharmed from cooking cause you never cook it.People eating a well balanced meal maybe thats why obesity and diabetes is on the rampage LOL your funny you think you got all the answers haha not for me you don't have any !!
Cooked vegetables have less vitamins, but not much less. I personally like mine cooked enough to heat them up, but still crunchy.
He showed the content of wheat grass and you can look it up yourself, too. You're being deceived and conned out of your money, and now that someone is trying to help, you scoff.
Way to throw around scary words like obesity and diabetes. Do you have proof that cooking food causes these? I'd love to see it. Peer review, so I know it's legit.
Flinstones are made (like most vitamin/mineral products) from PETROLEUM and CHARCOAL TAR
In fact:
The AMA has been saying that ALL ADULTS should be supplementing their diets since 2002
In fact:
A plethora of well researched studies indicate that our food chain is SEVERELY lacking in micronutrients and this trends has been on the rise for many years.
listen dude i appreciate that there is a left wing {capitalist } movement of people robbing people with so called health foods . but you are WRONG about wheatgrass and the proof is the in the pudding i did the whole top dollar vitamins and wheatgrass just kicks its arse .. before wheatgrass - not so good after wheatgrass- feeling great . simple !
Hey mister...in fact you are ignorant and should study harder before you come here and post videos about wheatgrass. How about chlorophyll????
YOU FORGOT TO MENTION IT. THATS THE MAIN THING ABOUT WHEATGRASS. "there is some evidence in support of the beneficial effects of chlorophyll in the human diet.[6][7] Some research exists that relates diets high in chlorophyll, present in higher concentrations in green leafy vegetables, to lower rates of colon cancer." take some wheat grass good 4 u
This guy's an assclown! He's right you should eat a balanced diet as long as it includes clean water & its vegetable based. Don't eat any meat & for god sake stay away from all cow products. Listen to this ankle grabber & you'll be digging your grave with your own fork & knife. Probably works for Fox News
This guy doesn't seem to take in to account the lack of BIO-AVAILABILITY of many multi-vitamins. You don't have to go to a juice bar for a shot of wheatgrass. Buy a juicer. This guy is fat, probably has a bunch of dead animal stuck to his colon, and his arteries. Keep it up bro. DOCUMENTED RESEARCH SHOWS THAT PLANT BASED DIETS FIGHT DISEASE
Who are we going to believe, the most succesful health institute that has been healing people from catastrophic disease using wheatgrass for a long time (Hippocrates), or some random unhealthy looking guy on Youtube who puts on a suit and calls himself a skeptic? Hmmm this is a tough one.
You are not a real skeptic, you are just someone who doesnt believe anything they hear that isnt the popular way of thinking.
@JazzyMan1990 Your use of wording here is pretty misleading. Hippocrates Health Institute is what you meant, right? Anyways, the most impressive thing that I've found about wheatgrass is how very effective it is at treating so many different things. It's so damn good, actually, that it's a wonder anybody ever eats anything else. Stuffy old drug companies have these lame drugs that only cure one thing at a time. But wheatgrass juice? I poured some on an ugly child once, and now she's a model. :-P
@showmeanedge There is nothing misleading about what I said. People seem to think that to drink wheatgrass you have to be a hippie or believe in tarot cards and say dude can you feel the enregy. But wheatgrass is just simply something that is very healthy, theres nothing mystical about it. I've tried it (I was skeptical too) and to my suprise it did do good for me, placebo effect? I'm pretty sure the placebo effect doesnt get rid of acne.
@millionaireby2012 I would do that, only I... don't really want to. Obviously you have reasons to feel that the video makes a poor argument though; what are they?
@IXPrometheusXI I'm a personal trainer i use to be close to 300ibs. I am now 180lbs. i found it really hard to maintain my weight because i loved food and didnt want to have to keep working out so hard.I Educated myself about wheatgrass from a friend who drinks it everyday for the past 15 years and he is really strong and very healthy for a 50 year old, he looks like he's in his 30's. So i started taking it i have more energy i don't crave food and it cleans out my system.
@millionaireby2012 Oh ok. Yeah, people need to make sure they don't take just one dude's POV and pretend his claims must be true. In reality, it takes TWO people, and one of them has to be involved in something tangentially related to the subject matter. At least. I mean, to settle for anything less would just be ignorant.
...now I feel bad for being mean... but come on. More energy and less cravings -- placebo effect -- can't be measured, and what data supports your "cleaned out system?"
@IXPrometheusXI I live it and others just talk about it.research it i cant show you my information because i'm not trying to change anyone mind i 'm just saying do your own research
@IXPrometheusXI I don't know where he got his facts on the vitamin content but i have read there is vitamin B12,B6 and E in wheatgrass.I have my clients take the powder or the shot of wheatgrass juice taken with lots of water you will see and feel a difference in a month.yes it is costly but Health = Wealth :)
@millionaireby2012 Why aren't you trying to change my mind? I'm asking you to. Actually, if you're not trying to change my mind, why mention the vitamin content? Does "not trying to change anyone's mind" stop only at revealing sources? I'm SO sleepy. It's nearly midnight here and have class in the morning, so I don't have time for frivolous research.
Is this a test? Is this one of my friends challenging me on my recognition of logical fallacies and other non-scientific and unscrupulous debate tactics? C'mon, 'fess up!
So far we have Confirmation Bias, Correlation does not equal Causation, Anecdotes are not Data; Argument from Popularity ... who else wants to play Spot The Logical Fallacy with the comments?
Uh, @JorethInnkeeper I personally know a couple of people who got rid of cancer by using alternative medicine. So when they would share their thought with me on how happy they are to be alive and that the alternative medicine can do great things I just needed to answer " what u are saying is a confirmation bias, your cancer when away by accident"??? Ahmmm OK
@rawrianna personal anecdotes are not data. Yes, confirmation bias can cover cancer going away on its own, but it can also include cancer getting better due to legitimate treatments but being attributed to the alternative method anyway. Without an oncologist evaluating the full medical case of your friends, neither of us can say what caused the remission, but previous testing of alt methods + knowledge of confirmation bias & the Correlation Fallacy does suggest that your hypothesis is false.
@rawrianna when your friends share their thoughts with you, if you are afraid of hurting their feelings, you don't have to say anything at all, but the accurate answer is that alt med has either no proven efficacy on cancer remission, or has negative results, and that confirmation bias and the Correlation Fallacy are the reason why they are attributing their remission to the alt. med.
@JorethInnkeeper, sweet heart, I am Russian and in Russian people deal with diseases using Vodka :) and alternative medicine. It is not very common here and people are not very open minded, but just like u view me as an idiot, in Russia a lot of people would look at you in that way because u do not believe into the power of herbs. Personal anecdotes is too strong of an expression and you do not know what was going on with the people I am talking about and how I am involved into their lives.
@rawrianna I do not need to know them personally to know what confirmation bias is, what the Correlation Fallacy is, and to know that there is no evidence to support their claims. Your belief in alt med and vodka do not change the empirical facts, which is that alt meds have no evidence to suggest they can cure cancer, and plenty of evidence to say they don't. When they do have evidence, they become standard medicine. Alt med doesn't work better in Russia than elsewhere. Sweetheart.
@rawrianna Logical Fallacy: Straw Man, Red Herring, you're up to 6 now. He doesn't say it's "good for you", he says a hamburger is no worse at McD's than at a restaurant since it uses same ingredients. That is true. He also points out calories & portion sizes, which are posted publicly by food manufacturers, & that saturated fats & simple sugars are bad, which is also true.
@rawrianna A fatty burger is just as good for you from McDonalds as it is from Chez Restaurant, only it is smaller so probably has fewer calories. However, both are not as good for you as a salad, a grilled fish plate, fresh fruits and veggies, etc. His point was that fast food is no WORSE than the same food at non-fast food restaurants. A burger is a burger.
@rawrianna a Big Mac includes beef, starch, and veggies, all of which have nutritional value and is a true statement. However, he also points out the dangers of saturated fats, sugar, and over-eating. Logical Fallacy #7: Cherry Picking
@Junior1luv If you have this view that anyone who disagrees with you is automatically a shill who can't be trusted, it's no use talking to you, and you're certainly not going to convince anyone.
@MidgardEagle I think that according to the real definition, medecine is made from natural ingredients as Drugs made from chemicals and other '' not natural '' ingredients.
The problem with the nutritional list that is displayed on this video, is that it's not a very complete list, even if it is given by jamba juice. I just looked at the U.S.D.A. nutrient data laboratory for wheat grass, and couldn't find it there. However, they do list "Sprouted" wheat, and their analysis is much more detailed. I'll put up the link.
What have you done to your wheatgrass juice to have such readings ? DEEP FRY IT ? This is not an opinion fact, this is provable science. But just for the matter of mankind, i think you should not drink it. You should ontinu to eat your unabsorbable little pills, eat your greasy meat and drink generous portions of milk. That way you will be whipped out quickly and painfully from the surface of the earth. :-)
Why did you remove my comment! I have drank wheatgrass every day for over 12 years don't you think you should have an expert's opinion on the matter? Brian have you ever experimented with wheatgrass and it's myriad of health benefits? There is so much electrical power in wheatgrass juice! I have lived on it for days at a time to experiment and felt so incredible! Well I guess we are all entitled to our opinion, but it doesn't seem that you really know anything about wheat grass? :D
Why should he try it himself? We're not discussing a video game or TV show, but the empirical health benefits of a "super food". Whether it appears to work for an RGI (Random Guy on the Internet) is immaterial.
Do I need to drink two litres of Coca-Cola every day to know that this would be bad for me? Of course not, because we know through empirical evidence that Coca-Cola is bad for you.
Coca-cola is not bad for you! What would make you say such an ignorant thing? LOL :D I am not a random guy on the internet you should check out my channel for the proof of that! I have helped thousands of individuals around the world to gain health, lose weight and heal any and all manner of disease! Many call me "the" authority on health! How's that for empirical evidence? :D BTW I just drank a huge glass of fresh wild grass juice and it was awesome! My blood is teaming with life!!!

This guy doesn't look healty at all. Not in a very good position to talk about whats healty or not. I am also impress about the great quantity of facts i just heard......NOT.
@MidgardEagle Gratuitous verbal abuse or 'name-calling' itself is not an argumentum ad hominem or a logical fallacy. The fallacy only occurs if personal attacks are employed instead of an argument to devalue an argument by attacking the speaker, not personal insults (her first 2 sentences) in the middle of an otherwise sound argument (her last sentence). -from Wikipedia
@MidgardEagle Within my last comment, I should have said 'THEIR first 2 sentences' and 'THEIR last sentence,' as there's actually no way to know if carlpoisson is male or female...my apologies.
@carlpoisson I agree. I don't think every aspect of nutrition has been discovered yet, much less is contained in the US RDA. I will also respectfully submit that this man is not a nutritionist and it shows.
Wheatgrass may not be the most nutritious food you can buy, but there are many supplements that are great and helpful. If you know you aren't eating the right foods enough I see no problem with helping yourself along. It's up to you as a consumer to weigh your return on investment.
Cheaper maybe, effective, maybe not. I don't use a juice, but a powder that goes in my juice, and it's a lot easier than a bunch of pills or a ton of food.
People who eat a balanced diet shouldn't need vitamin pills, Flintstones or otherwise. If you have a deficiency in your diet, a supplement may be indicated. See your dietician (NOT a "nutritionist") if in doubt.
Some may get the impression from this video that wheatgrass is not nutritious at all. This isn't true. It's a green leafy vegetable! But any benefit from wheatgrass can be obtained from other green leafy vegetables, most of which are tastier and cheaper.
This guy would really benefit from a few shots of wheat grass and a colonic would really help too cause he is full of it! I LOVE WHEAT GRASS!!! Wheat grass is great for building blood and det
Flinstones vs. Wheatgrass = Synthetic vs. Natural ...Poor comparison you are misleading people.

you are creating fallacy by asserting that something can only be healthy if is "natural". this is not to say that flinstones is a healthy suppliment. but the comparison is valid. there is more nutritional value is that "candy" than wheatgrass and it tastes better too.
wheatgrass is nothing more then expensive water and fiber. if you just find your superfood, let it be broccoli.

MrSupasexi 2 months ago
@MrSupasexi Obviously fruits and veggies are healthy for you, but his point was to attack the nutrients and minerals claim.
Aberusugi 1 month ago in playlist inFact... Brian Dunning
MrSupasexi 1 month ago
@MrSupasexi So you admit to a personal bias against doctors, medical science, and the results it has so overwhelmingly provided. Are all of us really all that sick, I was under the impression that a majority of children live to adulthood in our country, whereas back in the 19th century when most people used "natural" remedies more than half died.
Aberusugi 1 month ago
@Aberusugi yes most people are really that sick, all these little things that most people just consider "normal" things that come with old age (arthritis, bone weakening, eye problems) can all be cured with a proper raw diet like this. look up mimi kirk, thats what a healthy 71 year old should look like, not some old, frail lady who cant walk without a walker.
MrSupasexi 1 month ago
@MrSupasexi How many 71 year olds do you think you saw in the 19th century and before when people relied almost solely on your kind of "medicine".
Aberusugi 1 month ago
@Aberusugi people back then still werent using "my kind of medicine". they were still eating a diet full of breads and meats and all that shit. the only difference is they didnt have modern "medicines" full of synthetic chemicals that we do now, which stuff the illnesses down and supress for a little longer but there not truely curing the illness. but hey man if you wanna keep buying into the "health" industries lies so they can make a quick buck off you fin by me. ill choose true health.
MrSupasexi 1 month ago
@MrSupasexi Also before the revolution of medical science if you had arthritis, bone weakening, or eye problems, you became a useless member of society, and there was no treatment whatsoever, just pseudoscientific treatments with a psychosomatic effect.
Aberusugi 1 month ago
@MrSupasexi And can you show me the source for your contention that people that use holistic medicine are exactly 10 times healthier? How do you quantify that health?
Aberusugi 1 month ago
lol this video is a joke right? I can't take advice from an unhealthy looking guy. Yeah its better to take a pill thats been made in a lab than to eat natural living foods lol some people are think as shit.
leahcimrac 3 months ago
@leahcimrac there are so many logical falacies in so few lines..... i am baffled
shadowmax889 3 months ago
@shadowmax889 I'll tell you what baffles me. Theres been decades of research into raw living foods (The China Study for example) as well as many institutes such as Hippocrates who have done clinical research over the last 50 years on the effects of a raw food diet on the human body. They are masses of people who have cured horrific disease as well as slowed the aging process there. I've been in contact with some of them and have recieved some fantastic advice from them for my own health.
leahcimrac 3 months ago
@leahcimrac So healthy eating is good for you, exactly what he said in the las part of the video
shadowmax889 3 months ago
@shadowmax889 I wasn't disagreeing with that part. I was disagreeing with his opinions on wheatgrass and how he seems to think that consuming mineral/vitamin pills is just as good even though recent research shows that these pills can actually contribute to disease and aging.
leahcimrac 3 months ago
@shadowmax889 Wheatgrass was suggested to me as it contains more beta carotene than carrots as i have a condition called achromatopsia) and its been literally life changing. I don't think a placebo effect would give me better vision as well as improve my colesterol, heart pressure and blood sugar levels. This is the same guy who says fast food isn't "that bad" for you even though volumes of science disagrees.
leahcimrac 3 months ago
@leahcimrac Yes but the real content of betacarotene in Wheatgrass juice is less than 10 μg/100g wich is far less than carrots (8285 μg/100g) check yourself. Fast food is only bad if you eat more calories than you spend, that is what he said. It doesn't mater if you eat at home, fast food or in other restaurant, eating to much calories is eating to much calories, wherever they came from, fast food, Starbuck, smoothies, restorant, home meal. Eating a balanced diet is what makes you healthy.
shadowmax889 3 months ago
@shadowmax889 Well everyones intitled to their opinions. I tried carrot juice as well as well as cooked and raw carrots. Its not just teh Beta Carotene though its the Animo acids, Lutein, Zeaxanthin and Vitamin C. Surely you agree that eating foods for their nutrition is better than taking a chemical pill. Pills don't exist in nature and afterall we're the result of nature. I'm not trying to be nasty or anything I'm just expressing my personal experience. Wheatgrass has been incredible for me.
leahcimrac 3 months ago
@leahcimrac the chemicals in those pills are te same in the food. The body doesn't care if a vitamin is ingested as a pill or as a vegtable, the only diference is that the vitamins and minerals in the pill are purified. I recomend you to go to his web site skeptoid(dot)com. He said that vitamins suplements are innefective and in some cases bad.
shadowmax889 3 months ago
@shadowmax889 Vitamins and minerals that exist in foods are balanced with each other and have a natural ratio. Pills are wickedly fortified with vitamins that aren't needed and in fact can cause damage to the system. Ever heard of Vitamin A poisoning? A friend of mine who also have a vision impairment had it years ago. Vits and mins also need oxygen to be transported efficiently around the body hence we need the oxygen in food to help with that. Theres also no emzymes in pills.
leahcimrac 3 months ago
@leahcimrac "Natural ratio" is a non sence and is not true. Vitamins can be poisen if you take too much WHEREVER THEY CAME FROM and depending of the Vitamin. Vitamins do not need oxigen or enzymes for absortion. Enzymes are proteins and as such are digested by the GI trackt so they cann not function once they reach the acid in the stomach. Some need help to be absorved (like A, D, E, K wich are lipophylic and need Biliary salts), B12 only need a IF (intrinsec factor) syntetised by stomach.
shadowmax889 3 months ago
@shadowmax889 One the first point: You don't believe that natural food contains a "correct" amount of nutrients for the body thus there is no need for vitamin pills? Second point: I agree that eatting or taking too much of anything can be bad, butI've never heard of anyone dying from drinking juice and I know alot of fruitarians, liuidarians who drink gallons of thiese kind of foods and are in perfect health. I have heard of people getting sick from vita/minerr pills though.
leahcimrac 3 months ago
@leahcimrac First Point: Yes i agree that there is no need for vitamin pills unless you have some kind of deficiency and in pregnancy. A good healthy balanced diet is enough for most of us.
Second point: Frutarians do not have a balanced diet, they lack of nutrients that are only found/better absorved in animal products.
The fact that you never heard someone dying for eating only fruit do not mean that is a healthy diet. No nutritional profesional will ever recomend one-kind-of-food type diet
shadowmax889 3 months ago
@shadowmax889 Ok fair points. I'm simply mentioning the facts i'm not telling you something you already know. Fruitarians eat fruits, nuts, seeds and small amounts of veg, so I wouldn't call it one type of food diet. Also the two guys (fruitarians ) I'm refering too both run marathons, train with weight and have medically documented "perfect" health. I don't believe we need much animal products as sprouts, seavegetables, nuts and seeds provide a great amount of protein and iron etc.
leahcimrac 3 months ago 3
@shadowmax889 i admit i need to read up on digestive enzymes ahah. I know pills don't contain them, but I thought theyhelped absorb nutrients in the GI tract and minimuly in the stomach. Again all I can go on is what i know from experience. I've tried shitloads of pills from the store, but as soon as i started juicing veg and especially wheatgrass my vision improved incredibly. People can throw as much science as they like at me, but the results at the othamologist speak for themselves.
leahcimrac 3 months ago
@leahcimrac You can keep juicing your Vegs!!!! they good and tasty!!!!. I drink a lot of friut juice every day myself but you don't need Wheatgrass juice, Any veg have more vitamins and minerals than Wheatgrass juice and are far less expensive (and more tasty). Eat well but no belive in miracle food
shadowmax889 3 months ago
@shadowmax889 lol i know I love them. I personally eat veg, fruit, wild herbs and plants, seaveg, nuts, seeds, mushrooms, coconut water and sometimes raw fish like prawns and mussells. I get my wheatgrass for free and I make my own compost with local soil from a farm near my home. I'm not pushing wheatgrass infront of other foods I'm simply saying its a great food and can be very beneficial. Again I'm going on my personal experience in this. I'm not a scientist as you can tell :)
leahcimrac 3 months ago
I should also point out that you neglected to mention the placebo effect.
Sure, wheat grass is most certainly an unnecessary and probably useless additive, however, I have known a few people who were convinced that it kept them healthy. The placebo effect is pretty darn powerful... as long as it isn't actually *unhealthy*, so what if it cost some people a few dollars a shot... if they believe in the product.
sssdeecee 3 months ago
Finally! Someone said it! Thanks Brian!
Although, I have to disagree about the vitamin pill reference. Medical science is finally coming to the conclusion the most vitamin pill supplements may actually do more harm than good. In fact, some brands have been found to be contaminated with toxins.
sssdeecee 3 months ago

TheSproutarian 6 months ago
Speak to one of the world's leading experts Brian Clement about wheatgrass juice. He is in the best position to speak of the benefits because he has used it in clinical research for over 35 years. You have not done the right thing by releasing this video.
TheSproutarian 6 months ago

@lman318
TheSproutarian 5 months ago
@TheSproutarian "proper sources" really? anyway, i'm not speaking angrily, just reasonably. Like, How do you get your protein if not in your meat?
lman318 5 months ago
@lman318
TheSproutarian 5 months ago
@TheSproutarian alright, going away from the nutrition part of meat, what other use would we have for things like cows and chickens (other than milk and eggs)? nothing... they would just be processed for that and given even more crap than what we do to them now. Going on from that, sure the corpses might be turned into compost, but that would attract predators, threatening the rest of the livestock. After that, you lose the things to make bread and carbohydrate-type products.

@TheSproutarian hahahahahahaha
beehivecity 5 months ago
Volleybrain isn't correct in many of the things he says. Enzymes may be destroyed in the stomach but they are still absorbed in the mouth. Wheatgrass is low in vitamins and minerals, but it is one of the richest sources of phytonutrients on earth. Scientists at the Uni of Oregon have shown that phytonutrients prevent and destroy every form of cancer known to man.
Don't know about the oxygen facts, but when someone low in breath takes raw sprouts and wheatgrass juice they can breath better.
TheSproutarian 6 months ago
@TheSproutarian he probably forgot to mention that those so called, "scientists" are most likely marketers, that's all it's been. and the breathing thing? This isn't gonna cure you of your asthma and Bronchitis. Most importantly, keep your opinion to your goddamn self.
lman318 5 months ago
@lman318

@TBAL285 hmm, that looks like it's the nutrition facts to Jamba Juice's wheatgrass drink, not just a shot of freshly made wheatgrass. Jamba probably pasteurizes it on top of other things that takes away from the nutrition. here is a link for the nutrition facts of a homemade shot of wheatgrass. much different nutrition facts than the Jamba Juice product: bit(dot)ly/tvtuyH
ilikemyrealname 1 month ago
@ilikemyrealname If you go to Jamba juice they have a patch of wheatgrass growing, and they cut it off and put it in a blender. Don't know why you think their wheatgrass is different.
Aberusugi 1 month ago in playlist inFact... Brian Dunning
I'm just fascinated by this video and Jamba stating such different facts than what I've read pretty much anywhere else.
ilikemyrealname 1 month ago
@ilikemyrealname So you assumed that they don't juice it fresh. All the sources I have looked at on the internet agree with this video, I would like you to message me your source that shows that it is significantly higher in numerous minerals and vitamins as to debunk the video, and you should submit that information and source to skeptoid's brian dunning at his site so he can amend his wrongs.
Aberusugi 1 month ago
@Aberusugi yes like I said I assumed that because it was so much lower than other sources I've seen. here's a link I posted from someone else's comment with very different nutrition facts. bit(dot)ly/tvtuyH I've been unable to find facts similar to Jamba so if you could supply me with a link, I would greatly appreciate it. again, I'm non-bias, just curious to what the real truth is after finding such opposite 'facts'. thanks for your time!
ilikemyrealname 1 month ago
@ilikemyrealname Even then with that source wheatgrass would not be a significant contributor to your diet the way a flinstones pill would, and the wheatgrass shot costs a lot more.
Aberusugi 1 month ago
@ilikemyrealname And I sent you a message with a daily value of the link you showed me here. To get the same amount of nutrients and minerals you get from the flintstones pill you would need about 20 shots of wheatgrass juice, even based on the numbers you showed me here.
Aberusugi 1 month ago
@ilikemyrealname Also pasteurization doesn't necessarily make something less nutritious. People used to claim this with milk, pasteurization actually has the effect of making it easier for the body to absorb the nutrients as fate would have it.

It's flawed because it doesn't have the nutritional benefits that people say.

JesterAzazel 9 months ago
@JesterAzazel Wanna know what is gullible? Look how large Coca Cola is. Look what they are selling. Look at cow's milk, for fuck's sake. Humans are the only species on Earth to obtain milk from another species and consume it in massive quantities. If there's one thing we should all agree on, it's that each species should stick to its own milk. Pasteurized and denatured cow's milk, let alone normal cow's milk, causes almost every disease you can think of. Crohn's, asthma, IBS, acne, ...

JazzyMan1990 1 year ago
@JazzyMan1990 Your use of wording here is pretty misleading. Hippocrates Health Institute is what you meant, right? Anyways, the most impressive thing that I've found about wheatgrass is how very effective it is at treating so many different things. It's so damn good, actually, that it's a wonder anybody ever eats anything else. Stuffy old drug companies have these lame drugs that only cure one thing at a time. But wheatgrass juice? I poured some on an ugly child once, and now she's a model. :-P
showmeanedge 1 year ago
@showmeanedge There is nothing misleading about what I said. People seem to think that to drink wheatgrass you have to be a hippie or believe in tarot cards and say dude can you feel the enregy. But wheatgrass is just simply something that is very healthy, theres nothing mystical about it. I've tried it (I was skeptical too) and to my suprise it did do good for me, placebo effect? I'm pretty sure the placebo effect doesnt get rid of acne.

So i started taking it i have more energy i don't crave food and it cleans out my system.
millionaireby2012 1 year ago
@millionaireby2012 Oh ok. Yeah, people need to make sure they don't take just one dude's POV and pretend his claims must be true. In reality, it takes TWO people, and one of them has to be involved in something tangentially related to the subject matter. At least. I mean, to settle for anything less would just be ignorant.
...now I feel bad for being mean... but come on. More energy and less cravings -- placebo effect -- can't be measured, and what data supports your "cleaned out system?"

@millionaireby2012 Why aren't you trying to change my mind? I'm asking you to. Actually, if you're not trying to change my mind, why mention the vitamin content? So far we have Confirmation Bias, Correlation does not equal Causation, Anecdotes are not Data; Argument from Popularity ... who else wants to play Spot The Logical Fallacy with the comments?
JorethInnkeeper 1 year ago
Uh, @rawrianna, they don't. It's called "confirmation bias" - look it up.
JorethInnkeeper 1 year ago
Uh, @JorethInnkeeper I personally know a couple of people who got rid of cancer by using alternative medicine. So when they would share their thought with me on how happy they are to be alive and that the alternative medicine can do great things I just needed to answer " what u are saying is a confirmation bias, your cancer when away by accident"??? Ahmmm OK
rawrianna 1 year ago
@rawrianna personal anecdotes are not data. Yes, confirmation bias can cover cancer going away on its own, but it can also include cancer getting better due to legitimate treatments but being attributed to the alternative method anyway. Without an oncologist evaluating the full medical case of your friends, neither of us can say what caused the remission, but previous testing of alt methods + knowledge of confirmation bias & the Correlation Fallacy does suggest that your hypothesis is false.
JorethInnkeeper 1 year ago
@rawrianna when your friends share their thoughts with you, if you are afraid of hurting their feelings, you don't have to say anything at all, but the accurate answer is that alt med has either no proven efficacy on cancer remission, or has negative results, and that confirmation bias and the Correlation Fallacy are the reason why they are attributing their remission to the alt. med.
JorethInnkeeper 1 year ago
@JorethInnkeeper, sweet heart, I am Russian and in Russian people deal with diseases using Vodka :) and alternative medicine. It is not very common here and people are not very open minded, but just like u view me as an idiot, in Russia a lot of people would look at you in that way because u do not believe into the power of herbs. Personal anecdotes is too strong of an expression and you do not know what was going on with the people I am talking about and how I am involved into their lives.
rawrianna 1 year ago
@rawrianna I do not need to know them personally to know what confirmation bias is, what the Correlation Fallacy is, and to know that there is no evidence to support their claims. Your belief in alt med and vodka do not change the empirical facts, which is that alt meds have no evidence to suggest they can cure cancer, and plenty of evidence to say they don't. When they do have evidence, they become standard medicine. Alt med doesn't work better in Russia than elsewhere. Sweetheart.

in the other video volleybrian says that fast food is good for u... would u agree with that 2? silly
rawrianna 1 year ago
@rawrianna Logical Fallacy: Straw Man, Red Herring, you're up to 6 now. He doesn't say it's "good for you", he says a hamburger is no worse at McD's than at a restaurant since it uses same ingredients. That is true. He also points out calories & portion sizes, which are posted publicly by food manufacturers, & that saturated fats & simple sugars are bad, which is also true.
JorethInnkeeper 1 year ago
@rawrianna A fatty burger is just as good for you from McDonalds as it is from Chez Restaurant, only it is smaller so probably has fewer calories. However, both are not as good for you as a salad, a grilled fish plate, fresh fruits and veggies, etc. His point was that fast food is no WORSE than the same food at non-fast food restaurants. A burger is a burger.
JorethInnkeeper 1 year ago
@JorethInnkeeper He says Big Mac is excellent balanced food that provides plenty of nutrition- that's him saying that fast food is good for u.
rawrianna 1 year ago
@rawrianna a Big Mac includes beef, starch, and veggies, all of which have nutritional value and is a true statement. However, he also points out the dangers of saturated fats, sugar, and over-eating. Logical Fallacy #7: Cherry Picking

carlpoisson 1 year ago
Why did you remove my comment! I have drank wheatgrass every day for over 12 years don't you think you should have an expert's opinion on the matter? Brian have you ever experimented with wheatgrass and it's myriad of health benefits? There is so much electrical power in wheatgrass juice! I have lived on it for days at a time to experiment and felt so incredible! Well I guess we are all entitled to our opinion, but it doesn't seem that you really know anything about wheat grass? :D
liferegenerator 1 year ago
Why should he try it himself? We're not discussing a video game or TV show, but the empirical health benefits of a "super food". Whether it appears to work for an RGI (Random Guy on the Internet) is immaterial.
Do I need to drink two litres of Coca-Cola every day to know that this would be bad for me? Of course not, because we know through empirical evidence that Coca-Cola is bad for you.
MidgardEagle 1 year ago
Coca-cola is not bad for you! What would make you say such an ignorant thing? LOL :D I am not a random guy on the internet you should check out my channel for the proof of that! I have helped thousands of individuals around the world to gain health, lose weight and heal any and all manner of disease! Many call me "the" authority on health! How's that for empirical evidence? :D BTW I just drank a huge glass of fresh wild grass juice and it was awesome! My blood is teaming with life!!!

Wheatgrass may not be the most nutritious food you can buy, but there are many supplements that are great and helpful. If you know you aren't eating the right foods enough I see no problem with helping yourself along. It's up to you as a consumer to weigh your return on investment.
devorahacts 2 years ago
Problem is, there are far cheaper and more effective ways of getting required nutrients than overpriced "super juices".
MidgardEagle 1 year ago
Cheaper maybe, effective, maybe not. I don't use a juice, but a powder that goes in my juice, and it's a lot easier than a bunch of pills or a ton of food.

Great video! A few comments:
People who eat a balanced diet shouldn't need vitamin pills, Flintstones or otherwise. If you have a deficiency in your diet, a supplement may be indicated. See your dietician (NOT a "nutritionist") if in doubt.
Some may get the impression from this video that wheatgrass is not nutritious at all. This isn't true. It's a green leafy vegetable! But any benefit from wheatgrass can be obtained from other green leafy vegetables, most of which are tastier and cheaper.
