I found that you need to stand up straight on the trikke with a slight bend in the knees. The carves shouldn't need to be very wide and aggresive to go fast, all you'll do is just use up your energy. Stand up straight and give a push downwards as you lean the steering column. I found that when I squat like gildo is doing here pushing out to the side, then I use up more energy vs just pushing downwards with an easy step, while leaning the trikke I could get same speed!
I trikke alot aswell, and i can see my natural build coming through, not unlike Gildo, however i have now learned from him and i shall attempt to get a tan as soon as possible.
I just bought the T8 air and will probably give that to my daughter now that I have seen the T12. The only thing that unnerves me is I wear a size 12 women's shoe! What if my foot slips off when I really get into carving.. Has anyone had that problem?
That is very reassuring. Did you find your "sweet spot" on the trike? Is it a slight squat in the middle or do you lean towards the front more with the side to side carving? Still trying to get moving here?
Found the "Sweet Spot" right away. Can't explain how. It helps if you've rollerbladed, similar movements.Alot of instructional vids here on YouTube, watch them, they may help.
The slow motion segments of this video show the sensual nature of trikking at its finest. Gildo's the man, and if you ever want to impress someone about trikking, show this vid -- the whole-body effort, the smoothness, the athleticism -- it's all there by the ton. I love how he leaps from one pad to the other!
