  • Lin has had some good games, no doubt but LJ was too legit to quit, the real deal Runnin' Rebel.

  • Jeremy Lin is better.

  • LJ was da shizzle...does anyone know wat da trak is called?

  • I think I was the only kid in America who actually owned a pair of React's! haha Everybody wanted Jordans, but LJ was my favorite. haha

  • Great video, use to love LJ

  • larry johnson is a bitch. He never comes back because he want to get full insurance payment. If he comes back to NBA, he has to give back the insurance money. bitch!

  • GrandMama- The Original Madea.

  • Comment removed

  • damn he is what i call the prototype NIGGAH

he barely could talk its like a money stupid ape

  • before Blake Griffin, there was Larry Johnson.

  • gayass spider loc really??

  • My opinion is todays generation of the NBA dont have the characters that we had in the 90s. Penny, Shaq, Larry Johnson, Barkley, Rodman. We all laughed at their off-the-court antics and the nike/converse commericals.

Just seems they are only out to get paid and maybe win some games..

  • @batmanlooksgood you forgot Shawn Kemp

  • @MRPric3LEss YEAH.. shawn kemp too!

  • Larry Johnson was a awesome basketball player.

  • I took a picture with him yesterday in Vegas I was only 10 when the rebels won the championship but I still remember that great moment

  • Too bad he got a back back otherwise he would have played like Charles Barkley

  • jordan was one of the players that made nba soft...............no disrespect jordans beast

  • Grand Ma in the building!! He should be in NBA 2k12

  • @thedonofthesouth He is in 2K12.

  • Love him! Good old Larry !

btw, what is the soundtrack in the background of this clip?

  • larry sucks balls f that bitch ass monkey whuite people hates hes ass even white girls and me

  • @EASTSIDEGANSTA1 3rd grade educations shouldn't be allowed to comment.

  • @stevieballs22 ihate you too

  • @EASTSIDEGANSTA1 Did you guys finger paint in class today sweetie?

  • @EASTSIDEGANSTA1 Chump... no cookies 4 u from GrandmaMa except her elbows when she's working ya under the backboard

  • Coolest granma ever.

  • LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL JAY!

  • I didn't know Larry Johnson was born in Texas. That's kool. What song is this?

  • le meilleur joueur de tout les temps en ce qui me concerne.

dommage que ses problèmes de dos l'ai éloigné des parquets.

  • it's a shame that alotta these younger kids will never know how much of a monster this guy was in college and on charlotte

  • Thumbs up if you think Grandma Ma was the inspiration for Tyler Perry's Madea character.

  • mugsy hersey hawkins kendall gill lj and alonzo that was a hella squad

  • South Dallas finest!! Yes sir!!

  • Before his 94 injury he was extremely strong ! Check his slam-dunk contest he dig the ball ! I loved this player !

  • Before his injury L.J's strength, foot work and skill gave him one of the best Post Games I have ever seen... it was just beautiful.

  • This brings back memories of my worthless blue fleer rookie cards. Turned out to be alot less explosive version of Charles Barkley

  • @22BubbaNelson22 spider loc - when I get angry

  • LJ was the shit when he came in to the league!!!! Also great game against Duke University.

  • @the99drill yup, that's correct, and that was an extremely lucrative contract at the time. Zo HATED that because he felt that he deserved the same amount or more. Kendall Gill (after he went to Seattle) said that he was tired of being a third wheel, so he gets traded to a team with Kemp and Payton. I hated it when Zo left. Charlotte was never the same, never played with the same passion and heart after that.

  • In 1991 I said that Billy Owens was better than LJ haven't gone with a Cuse player since.

  • @hgm38 Billy was the man at Syracuse. Just like Derrick Coleman and Sherman Douglas, but I guess once in the NBA they washed out. There is still Melo.

  • A BEAST

  • LJ had so much passion every time he stepped on the court. I am a native Charlottean and we loved the squad we had in the early 90's. LJ, Zo, Mugsy, Kendall Gill, and Dell Curry were the core. Had that team stayed together, they would have won a championship or two.

  • ooh he traveled on that 4 point play ;-)

  • Unstoppable.2 bad he got hurt,he was never the same again

  • The best!

  • his dunks absolutely CRUSHED the rim

  • i remember having that poster @ 2:22

  • injury killed his game,, he was so explosive then injured and then play smart basketball only and never dunk again

  • @9394567 ur damn right! if only he hadnt gotten hurt...

  • Thankyou when these commentators say lebron may be the biggest physical speciman the game has ever seen, i be wanting to kick my tv over like none of you has heard of grandma ma. beetlejuice used to coach him in ny SMDH

  • oh god the converse react juice lol, i forgot all about that. The juice made you quicker on your cuts lmao, ha ha!!!!!!

  • D-Town finest

  • LJ was the man...especially in his Charlotte days...just a nasty power forward....granmama!!!!

  • I miss my grandmama shirt :'(

  • song?

  • Nope Lebron is not similar to larry, Lebron James is the charles barkley of his era. I dont like the guy anyways hes too cocky and he jut barrels in with the same dunk over and over and over, he lacks creativity in the air to entertain, but hes efficient big and strong I'll give him that.

  • @mukkSkillz Lebron is the Magic/Penny Hardaway imitator of our era. He's NOTHING like Barkley who is fast, has handles like a wingman, played the inside with ABSOLUTE authority and was unstoppable without the help of zebras. 6'4" guy with double digit rebounds for his career and a high fg% for his career speaks in volumes of how much the short fat man owned the paint.

  • Damn...I always said LeBron reminded me of LJ and this video proves it...Lebron does this every night now just like LJ used to do, except maybe a little better, he's like LJ squared LOL

  • Lebron before Lebron

  • too bad the knicks didn't win a championship lol

  • @kedrick06 I'm not from NY but that Knicks team was one of my favorites. Is Camby the only one left from that squad?

  • "Told u before how i brings the drama slam larry johnson and his grandmama"Biggie smalls lol. This guy was the shit.

  • Soft touch from the outside rim rattler L.J

  • Man this was a GOOD ass video!!!!

    I loved it 5/5

  • one of my favorite players ever

  • He was such a beast when he was w/ the Hornets.

  • LJ a Hall of Famer? Note even in the discussion.

  • I got LJ in my first pack too. I was such a fool, i traded all my valuable cards for depreciating Lg cards. I'm talkin all my Jordans, shaqs, and at the time kemp and penny hardaway. NBA on NBC >>>>> NBA on TNT

  • this is the reason why I bought Fleer basketball cards, Grandmama

  • @deezdominates YESSSSSSSSSSSS!!

  • @deezdominates yeah those were nice cards. Too bad the NBA isnt the same place it was back in the 90s. In the 90s ever team had a bad ass superstar.

  • so this dudes grandma is a lesbian.

  • i bet your fun to smoke with.

  • hahahahaha i forgot about grandmama!

  • what is the song please!!

    another great mix!

  • "When I Get Angry" by Spider-Loc. It's on the Madden NFL 06 Soundtrack.

  • @joncuesta95 When I Get Angry" by Spider-Loc

  • BIG KINFOLK DEE DEE IT RUNS N DA FAMILY

  • 90s basketball was so much more passionate than it is today, these guys played their hearts out in an era where the defense was crazy and very physical, these dudes would be dropping 50+ a night in the weak ass league we got now, hell jordan on the wizards was 40 something and still balling

  • @slimshaby408

I agree 100% I dont even watch the NBA like I used to. Playeres back then that character. Its all about making money not the love of the game.

  • @slimshaby408 jordan at his prime would destroy this era

  • @slimshaby408 80-90s of ANYTHING is better... music , movies,.. clothes.....

  • @slimshaby408 basketball is just as passionate as it ever was.

  • whats the name of the first song

  • @williamwhitley8 When I Get Angry" by Spider-Loc

  • The original Madea!

  • grandmama!!!!!!!!!!

  • Pure energy.. he caught the holy ghost 1:30 follow me on twitter.. FORKNICKSFANS

  • lj was pretty good from way back. him and zo was a scary frontcourt...muggsy,kendall gill, dell curry, him and zo were better that other starting 5s that time...until the bulls toasted them. 90s nba was the best.

  • LJ was the man but I think his carreer got knocked when he injured his back. He dunk no more. He used to be a Lebron James - like player with a bit of charles barkley.

  • yep..wouldbe been a hall of famer if it wasnt for the back issues.

  • Whether or not LJ becomes a Hall of Famer......Doesn't matter. We all know how great Grandmama was in his prime

  • My favorite player of all time! He was the man.

  • LJ one of the best power forward in the history Allah u akbar brothaaaaaa

  • LJ my muslim brother Allahu akbar!!!!

  • Such a shame that Larry joined the long line of black men expected by hollywood and TV to "put on the dress".

  • grandmama was his gray-haired, dress-wearing, gold-toothed alter-ego that he used for his old converse advertisements

  • LJ, my favorite player, is in the looong list of players that injuries prevented them from been great

  • Not even close to being overrated. LJ was a beast when he was playing well. Strong, fast, and attacked the rim like a famished fat kid trying to get some breakfast. Dont' know how he got his nick name though.

  • Grandmama? he got it from those commercial he did for his Converse Shoes where he dressed like an old lady.

  • why was called grandma?

  • @kubrickfan21 Question is, is kubrickfan21's rl name Kwame Brown or Michael Olowakandi? Hard one.

  • Comment removed

  • if u thnk of it, blake griffin has same abalities as LJ

  • tyler perry's favorite player?

  • looks like Dejuan blair

  • i just wished he did all of this in NY, by the time he came to the Knicks he was old and damaged (two much dunking in charlotte) so he became a shooter

  • he had really bad back problems when he came to new york. he retired at age 31, so he was in his late 20's when he first arrived.

  • cuz the team had ewing, houston, and sprewell.

  • We didn't need him to be the 20 and 10 LJ. We had Pat and Camby to get the boards and points in the paint. H20 was the shooter. Spree was the penetrator. LJ was somewhat of a role player, but much better.

Damn, I miss my old Knicks.

  • @rcole718 my fav team ever.. Chris Childs was that dude..

  • @rcole718

Ahh shit! I know this is 10months late...but when I read your comment...brought the pain back, the never ending pain of being a Knicks fan lol. 94 & 99 = FUUUUCCKK!!!

  • @blueprophet9 And you'd rather relive those heartbreaking Knick days then the nightmare we're living now!!

  • @Gemini700 Damn right! Hahahaha, why do you hurt me so?

  • Him and Zoe are my two favorite Hornets

  • i was too young to watch larry johnson on the hornets but from the videos ive seen hes a beast with a good post up game he can hit the 15 foot jumper and is a sick defender. i remember him on the knicks one year the 1999 season where they went to the finals and larry johnson was definitely the leader of that group due to the injury of patrick ewing.

  • He was like Dwight Howard and VInce Carter into one

  • With way more heart than the both of them combined.

  • How is called the song in 4:43?? thanks.

  • LJ wasn't just atheletic, quick and strong. He was very skilled. His footwork was amazing.

by the way, Hornets LJ >> Knick LJ

  • @Fin6as u got it right about him.... he had very nice footwork!

  • @Fin6as

    Boxing background = great footwork

  • Bring back Larry as an assistant coach for NYK!!!! Sickest player!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Bring those kickz back Converse ( Nike )

  • OK, the compilation was good until the Knicks.

You'd think all he did there was hit that one shot......

Actually, I think that's all he DID do there.

    Anywayz, I miss Grandmama!

  • For U kids out there that didn't see him, LJ was a beast!

6'7 260 lbs, strong as an ox, could jump out the gym & was as quick as any small forward playing today..

But leave it to a lot of these dumb ass, ignorant & uninformed kids who seem to have infested YouTube to tell it, Lebron's the ONLY player to come thru the league with that kinda description LOL!!

God SO MANY of these kids today are idiots LOL!!

  • Larry as my favorite player

  • damn i never got to see this guy actually play.. he was a big ass man built like dwight and he was a monster inside but he can also hit the J? god damn this man is like the ultimate PF then...

  • he was built in the mold of barkley...a bruising PF who although short for his position used strength quickness and athleticism to become one of the top forwards in the game.

unfortunetely, injuries took the physical part away from his game and he was never the same.

young lj and young zo...unfulifilled potential together...

  • LJ is my Favorite player all time! He was at UNLV when I first started following bball.

  • LJ is my 3rd all time favorite player behind

#2 penny hardaway and #1 shawn kemp.

even after major injuries stole his athleticism.LJ was still a beast to contend with ....imagine if he still had his hops and quickness while with the knicks....LJ is a true champion ...

  • im a knick fan and this is when guys actually played with heart

  • Larry is my fave all time basketball player. Most because of the time he played for UNLV.

  • that 360 at the slam dunk contest is still my fav 360

  • as soon as he went to new york he stopped dunking

  • he was playing with a bad back and knees for the duration of his career and had to become a finesse player. Larry is one of my favorite player of all time.

  • CROOKGON.. Where You Got His Jersey From?

  • Larry was a very special player

  • paul harris is his reincarnation

  • Larry is a muslim now, May Allah bless him!

  • I respect Johnson and his choice, but FUCK Allah.

  • No, FUCK YOU!!! Allah is arabic for GOD!!!! You fucking moron!!!

  • Not my god fag.

  • LOL, you got owned by buckwheat. Ignorant hillbilly.

  • I wonder what Larry is up to nowadays? And, I wonder how is grandma ma is? She was badass! :P

  • UNLV was sick. Remember when they beat Duke by 30 something in the national title game?

  • lj i still rock your jersey

  • LJ and mourning really hated each other

it's a pity, because I liked them play together!

  • NBA Jam TE...

  • how so?

  • how come?

  • i missed this stuff beacuse i usta watch lj when he was with the hornets well when they were in charlotte

I STILL WANT TO FIND THE OLD PURPLE JERSEYS LOL

  • Michael Beasley reminds me alot of Larry Johnson circa UNLV and his early first 3 years with the Hornets as a 6'7" monster 20/10 Power Forward with mad skill, post-up game and athleticism

    Grandmama was NASTY!

  • He could have had better career if he didn't have back problem.

  • if anything Lebron is the 'what would have been' if larry johnson never got injured or played with the knicks. Johnson was a best that could do everything just like Lebron. Both 6'9 and weight over 250lbs. just nasty

  • I'm not gonna front I had a pair of converse react juice joints(sprewell version) I used to cut and thought the react juice was helping me change direction. LOL The good ol' days.

  • he became big l in ny grandmamma was over due to ruptured disk in his back.he became a jumpshot man.him and mourning fought like two women in the playoffs.van gundy hung on mournings leg 4 dear life

  • Damn, That ol' Grandma Johnson was a beast!!!

  • Nice vid man and what's the song called?

  • The hornets never would have ''won rings'' with bouges as their point guard,r u kidding me?lol,i think zo used the contract as an excuse to get out of charlotte.. zo knew they werent commited to winning by giving johnson this huge contract, and keeping guys like bouges.
