  • Aw . I Wsh My Horn Was That Shiny And nice-______- My Band Teacher Gave Me One Thats All Dented Up On The Bottom -____- gr

  • hummm...

with the trumpet they use ice with soap in it instead of pitch..

  • Gorgeous Conn 8D!!

  • wow i'm always saw the old man play this "HORN" with his band in the graveyard when someone left this world ~~

  • Dude, that guy is blasting his French horn at the end!!!

  • hahahaha, at the end he's trying to play Don Juan, from Strauss, the horn call.

  • Very cool.

  • how do they remove the tar like thingy?

  • @Galovesongs re-heat it and poor it back out (probably washing it out with water too).

  • @Galovesongs It drys when they shape it.

  • cooooooooooooooooooooooooooool

  • The playing at the end was DISGUSTING. French horns are capable of such prettier sounds.

  • @SonatinaVirtuoso i know i feel bad for that 8D

  • @SonatinaVirtuoso Whilst horns are capable of prettier sounds, the end play was not that DISGUSTING so shut the fuck up.

  • @emirhasa Cool your jets. French horns are my favorite instrument, and, while I can't play one, I've heard amateurs who can play better than the guy at the end was playing.

  • @SonatinaVirtuoso Yes, but the room he's playing is noticeably dry.

  • @Leopardstar12 and if an instrument has no valves(except for the high range), it can only play a certain harmonic series. And it's called "embouchure," not "ambasture," if I'm quoting correctly.

  • @Leopardstar12 not really. French horn is a wind instrument maybe, uh... Because you blow into it (thank you, captain obvious)? All woodwind and brass instruments are wind instruments.

  • the only reason im watching how other people make my instrument is cuz of the stupid project in our band class :P

  • why am i watching this? i don't even play instruments...

  • @ZIRamirez23 its cool to see how instruments r made!

  • "The french horn has a four octave range and distinctive mellow sound".

Ahahaha, he made a funny! :D Ya know, mellow and mello (like mellophone).

  • @kpoplova24 Putting your hand in the bell helps tune. Before the French Horn had valves to press down, all the notes of the different scales were made simply by changing ambasture (lip tension) and hand position. Because of that, the French Horn is considered both a wind and a brass instrument.

  • There are 8 french horn players in our band at school :D. I went to a very successful band program in middle school, and 4 of the french horns are from there. All the other middle schools had like 1 or 2 :P

  • Instead of asking whether or not they NEED to remove the tar pitch (because that's just damned obvious), I want to know HOW they did it. It seems they left that part out. :(

  • wow cool i wish i can do that (please reply)

  • @maggieLPS me too

  • dont they need to remove the tar pitch???

  • cz wen u put ur hand there ur creating a more cleaner or better sound

  • Why do u have to put your hand in the bell thing???

  • @kpoplova24 cuz is the only form to get some notes

  • @kpoplova24 Tuning. The horn is a very sharp instrument.

  • @BonoEtMalo The horn is purposely tuned sharp to compensate for the fact that the horn player must put their hand in the bell to achieve a good sound and perform hand stopping. It's very possible to tune a horn so that the player doesn't have to put their hand in the bell, but the result is a harsh sound (mellophones, anyone?).

  • It doesn't seem like much money to make, yet they sell it for so much freakin money!

  • @0hpeanuts

I looks quite labor intensive to me. That can be very costly.

  • Four octave range, ha it should be more like 5-7 (depending on the hornist of course)

  • @moreextraextra Haha no kidding. I have a few friends that have a range like that.

  • i want to play the horn

  • beautiful sound they make

  • @flutefella11

You sure can't spell for someone who "plays" four instruments lol.

  • I LOVE this instrument!! Our if the 4 instruments I play, french horn is DEFFINITELY my favorite!!! The sound is so beautiful!! 

  • I play the horn also! It is AWSOME!!

  • Loved this video!!! I play Horn too!!!!!!!!!

  • i play the french horn

  • @HeadShot360IN I don't really appreciate the vocabulary you used.

  • @herocko it was socially correct to talk like that once before.

  • @HeadShot360IN The past is not the present anymore... So technically it's not now.

  • @HeadShot360IN they put it in an oven and melt it out. It's mentioned in "how it's made: tuba"

  • 4:05 DAMN that is a dirty nail!

  • Thanks for uploading¡¡¡

  • Thanks! just ran out of things to watch.

    oh and first (:
