a tank crash is when everything just dies...and if a fish gets ich you can freshwater dip it for 3-8 min and the parasite will fall off and the fish will survive
Aww Nemo doesn't like Dori to go ear his anemone. Well my maroon clown also is very territorial he pushes other tank mates away whenever they go near his home.lol
I keep a flametail blenny with my true perc pair and their fine but i guess the blenny doesnt get in contact with the clowns as the tang does with your clowns my blenny just stays in this hole in a rock going to get him 1\2in pvc for him though thats what i see people on reef central do
Very nice tank. I heard you say that your Female clown has survived when nothing else did. I have had 1 clown in my tank since I started it a year ago and want to get it a mate or hope for that anyhow. Everyone seems to say that I can't just add one at a time to a tank that already has one established. Mine is a bit territorial and I don't have an anenome yet. Did you introduce the small one by itself while she was that big??
Your tank is certainly to small for that tang. Not unless you are going to upgrade when it gets bigger it fine but if not I would take it back to the fish store. Tangs need a 100 gallons or more with a 6 foot long tank to be happy and don't cause problems in your tank like ich and so on. Please people stick to the fish that belongs in your tank. There is no endless supply of fish. I'm not trying to be rude just giving advice sorry if I offended anyone but its the truth.
did yours get whitespot on introduction mokyichow because i have seen the most beautiful healthiest little regal tang at the pet store will he get whitespot
two questions the first one is i have set my tank up for a year its cycled and everything but i keep on getting mucky browny red algae on my sand and the second one is my tanks to small but in the future i will get a regal tang but is there a way to stop them getting whitespot because my mum absoloutly hates that disiese because my goldfish died of it my freshwaterfish died from it there was nothing wrong with the water but if there is can you tell me thanks=) =p
I recommend you the video named: basic about Hippo Tang. About the algea in your sand you need sand shifting sea star. On the rock it is harder to get it remove. Lot of cleaning crew (Snails, Hermit Crab, Star fish, Urchin, Shrimp and Crab) be careful they are not all reef safe...
If it is a thick, velvety red "algae", then it is not algae at all. It is an insidious cyanobacteria. Find a product called chemi-clean and follow instructions exactly!
look up ich, those are parasites. you can feed your tang garlic extracts or keep a cleaner shrimp, that will help reduce the ich. usually when a fish is stress, those parasites will latch on!
i think that the clown fish is trying to push the tang away because he is gettign close to the anenome and the clown fish does nto wnat the tang to get stung!!
Awesome reef! What kind of anemone is that? I think your tang will eventually outgrow your tank. They usually do best with 5 feet of swimming length. Nice!
Thank you! I have a Rose anemone and a Purple Long Tentacle Anemone in the tank. You are correct, the tang will eventually outgrow my tank, but I figure I'll trade him in for a smaller guy in the future if we ever get to that point. =)

hey what type of power heads are those the ones on both sides of the tank?
greeneyetrex 3 years ago
Those are SEIOs, I think I have the 620s. Nice gentle wide flow, but they sometimes have problem restsarting after a power outage.
MokYiChow 3 years ago
o thanks mite get them :)
