interesting, If you type in Plates of Darius in google you will see a golden plates found recently in the americas. This is dated around the time period the Book of Mormon was written.

This is some proof that the ancient cultures of america used this process of record keeping.

Also to my understanding the Plates Joseph was led to was made of various metal materials not just gold.

And what was the result of polygamy in the Bible? Abraham taking his wife's handmaid was a disaster. Jacob's terrible neglect of his first wife since he favored Rebecca was a tragedy. David's household was a mess, his son Absalom broke his heart. G_d allowed men concubines out of the hardness of men's heart's as he now allows divorce.
