Wallace was one of the few criminals who you could actually feel sympathy for; he was really just a kid who had to shoulder impossible responsibilities.
can somebody explain something i don't understand:
what are wallace and poot doing with all those kids in the squat? are all their mothers drugs addicts, so not able to take care of them? why do wallace and poot take care of them? because all those kids work for the barksdale org?
All those kids are orphans. Probably cause of the same bullshit, that Wallace, and Dukie go through. Wallace takes care of them, cause he's... well fucking Wallace. Also some of the kids apparently work for Barksdale when they count money, as stated in the end. Count be wrong they fuck you up.
even though he died in the 1st season , when i was watchin the 5th season i still missed wallace, d'angelo too when he died in the 2nd season. they died too early they were great characters. R.I.P.
see i dont understand this. Theyre all so fucking smart but nooooo they're doing all this.
But im saying this because i've never been in their situation and never will. I may live in compton but ill never involve myself in that stuff. Besides it looks like you're just stuck in a fucking loophole doing the same thing over and over again just to buy more drugs. Can't upgrade the house or anything because everyone will know you're rich. Lose lose situation. It's sad
Wallace got a big lump in his throat because through that brief exchange he realized from a lil boy that he better get his arse up and make sure that count be right (even during the TEST run!)
Wallace is such a sweetheart, a really intelligent, decent guy. His murder is absolutely harrowing, and made me despise Bodie intensely for the rest of the series, despite the fact he develops into a likeable character by the end and equally perishes in a horrilble manner.
D is one of my favourite characters in The Wire, again his death was brutal. A pity.
someone in my corrections class recently mentioned this scene when they were giving a presentation about how kids are gonna learn but the question is where......i was very disappointed when she asked if anyone had ever heard of the show and i was the only one who acknowledged that they had..
"if da count b wrong, they fuck u up," LMAO, from the mouth of babes!!!!!! this exchange is so deep and so real and so sad on so many levels. this country basically pushes entire generations of bright, promising kids 2 the streets from jump & then got da nerve 2 wonder why they grow up not giving a fuck????
clauren26 yeah dat be how its is fa real. The more you take sometimes the more ya mama will make. I know this kid over here..his mother kept gettin preggy and his grandmother kept taking them in and she kept smokin crack and the grandmother kept takin in the babys by all deze "johns" courtesy of the crack habit
before he knew it he had 4 brothers and sisters. They kept 6 and 7 at county finally and tied her tubes up. So all-n-all this one brodd had 7 kids of which 2 were kept by county.
yea, but he didn't want to. poot told bodie "wallace aint no snitch, he's just gettin high is all" but bodie said they had to do it. its not poot's fault.
Wallace was one of the few criminals who you could actually feel sympathy for; he was really just a kid who had to shoulder impossible responsibilities.

It kills me what happened to Wallace. The kid was so smart, and still so much a child. What a waste. He didnt deserve what they did to him.
