Is it possible to connect the other end of the second power line adapter to a router rather than connecting it to a PC? Would the network will be the same network or each adapter should be isolated on a separate conf.?
man got the same dam thing 15megs, what a waste of money. spent 140 bucks at fry's for the net gear home theater. next time is should just pay for a ethernet cable run instead. cost is about the same since i live in a single story house.
What most people don't understand is that even after using this device if their internet service is only for 20 mbps then it will still be 20 mbps even after installing this adapter.
@matrixloader The purpose is to wire up your home network using existing power wire. If someone doesn't understand a plastic box can't possibly increase the bandwidth their ISP gives them then they are beyond help.
Having first hand experience of the effect of these devices on Short Wave, AirBand & Broadband use.
I can say they do block out Shortwave radio Broadcast or Ham Radio, they also make weak Am Airband radio hard to hear & slow down the broadband internet. Having had OFCOM Govement body remove one local to me & seeing the change, I wonder why there not already banned & wonder will it take a Air to Air crash because a pilot or control not hearing traffic.
being as though this adaptor uses the unscreened electrical house mains wiring to transfer data is there not a risk of interference to radio services in its vicinity? does it contain for example notch filtering to prevent this from happening?has the unit been tested to make sure it complys with emc regulations?

200 mbps lan... Eh not too fast for LAN connections, but I suppose it gets the job done for low end users.

@yoshi183
for LAN it will work. But if you want the internet, you need to subscribe to an ISP
wiseye61 1 year ago
@yoshi183 it does not need any phone lines if you have cable internet. Just say no to DSL.
