I hate it, I still cant figure out how to shut down. I like the new windows explorer, but other than that I am not impressed. If I wanted APPS and an Interface like this, I would of just bought a Tablet of some sort. I am sticking with windows 7 if Microsoft decides to keep this as their new OS.

I only had Windows 7 for about a year, and I find it better. I might get Windows 8 within a few years. So I am keeping my computer in good condition. Not ready to switch yet. Then all the new programs you would have to install like Norton, McAFee etc

I'm all for this working on tablets but despite the desktop still being there, I think this wouldn't be a worthy reason to upgrade from a Windows 7. Would have personally been more happy if Microsoft had made an OS specifically for tablets, and one that didn't look like a five year old coloured in for PCs.

at first i didn't see how to get to the actual desktop but now that i see that it runs mostly the same unless i am in the start menu i don't hate it nearly as much as i did at first.

also notice the close window, minimize and maximize buttons are more squarey. That's a nice change. To those who think that this is not a full new OS, this is a very early build and will have lots more features and changes added before release. Anyway, M$ pulled off windows 98 as a whole new OS over 95. Also, there will almost definitely be some way to not use the Windows Phone-Metro-UI-Start-thingy, and to just use the regular windows start menu instead. Currently, that can be done by changing

This would mean basically windows 7, except new and improved performance, the cool microsoft-office-like windows explorer, the neat squarey version of Aero and who knows what else. I think Microsoft is now having a hard time to 'reinvent the wheel' and it's getting difficult for them to make a fresh new product so that's the aim of Windows 8. It'll be more difficult for normal desktop users to get used to the new interface and I don't think desktop touchscreens are getting enough popularity.

Mac is terrible. It's just for people who wants to be 'different'. It's a terrible platform for games plus it's not flexible.

No good debugger for it. Consumes lots of memory. I Have 4gb of memory and I use 32 bit. But most of the time I am short of memory. I have Advanced Graphics card. But I can't use it because of memory limitation. I also had 32 bit XP with only 2gb of memory but it never caused me any problem. It was running well and fine. In short Windows 7 doesn't support my softwares and consumes lot of memory

I have seen no change ever since Risco OS. No improvements, just same product, different names.
