for everyone that is confused, this is usually the gap in the parade. this is AFTER the masqueraders cross the stage (judging point), at which time they are tired and out of breath of course. thats why they may look 'dead.'

The volume on the recorder need to be lower to adjust for a clearer sound expecially videotaping the trucks with all the massive speakers.

Lol. Thanks. I just found that setting on my camera. I wasn't even thinking about audio distortion... But some them bands were mad heart pounding extra bass loud :) I will test the low mic volume setting the next time though..

@karlranks IMHO There is no lower volume you can adjust that volume... Those speakers are hidden by the sponsr's banners on the truck but those speakers literally even from that distance you'll feel the bassline of each song pounding in your chest.... Some people like to stand right next to them (esp. at the back of the truck) and those are the ones that like to feel "de heart pong-" (heart pound) as we call it in slang.
