This is the song which introduced me to the music of this fantastic group. It was September 1970 and I was just 12 when I heard this coming out of the radio. My 17 year old brother bought a copy....and that was it, I was hooked. I went on to meet all the guys over the years, three of whom are sadly no longer with us.
I listen to this song and am trying to picture what things were like when this song came out (I was born in 1985). I am trying to picture a time when all music was good and had a good message, unlike the mess I hear all time today. Makes me wish I had been alive when this song came out.
@alchap9695 Aw hon I was born before this song came out an things were never that good. The good times ended back in the 50s, as time went on things got worse. We, my generation, were at the very tail end of the good times an at the very begining of what was quickly becoming the very bad times. But the music .... back then people were still slightly innocent an poured there hearts an souls into every word. Today theres no feeling left in songs. Sad. You guys lost out I feel bad for you guys.
@alchap9695 Don't feel so bad...when this album came out we were at the height of the Vietnam war, in the process of killing over a million civilians and the draft was in full swing. The nation was even more divided than it is today. Nuclear holocaust was a real and present danger. And there was still a lot of bad music...we just don't play that stuff anymore, just like some of the crap you here today won't be played 40 years from now.
Loved these songs once upon a time - but as life goes on - I've moved on and the memories they bring back are just history - we have one life - don't live on the memories but what is happening and what will come.

And I can almost taste it. It does seem like things had a great feel then as opposed to today. I'm not sure? I can't imagine a time when one hardly heard a bad song on the radio.
