I can see a girl across the way she cant see me but i touch myself with just a little bit of confusion but im all alone and thats all that matters....
I saw these guys in a little bar in the east village in NYC called Coney island high. $6 cover. they were the warm up band and came on at 6 30 pm . . Great 1hr to 1 1/2 hour set. This was the bands line up at they did this song.
Does anyone here know any good funk-metal bands that are kind of like IME? I know like RHCP, Janes addiction, and I guess Alien Ant Farm, but I dont think theyre as good as IME.
this band was amazing, one of a kind in fact, they paid tribute to zeppelin/Hendrix/Santana all at the same time. Amazing musicianship yet they were skrewed by the media and the general dumbed down idiots of MTV for not adhering to their 'rules' of hipster of the week. Fuck!!
although I have to say...........
If sword & fish and the other albums after DIG was all about them trying to conform to label pressure, then I'd understand why they sucked so bad afterwards.
and if anyone actually listened to BGO or Quicksilver Meatdreams they'd understand while not BETTER than Dig Scenery they certainly weren't musical failures on any account. Those albums were just a band trying to experiment in an industry that HATES experimentation. If they hadn't been fucked by the industry we were probably a short time away from IME's creative climax or their "dark side of the moon"
What the fuck are you talking about? Obviously its you who doesnt know shit about IME. Christian Tanna wrote all the lyrics and Jag wrote most of the music by himself with some help from the rest of the band. The only one who didnt have any part in the bands music was Edwin. WOW your fucking retarded lol.
@bloodyriggs I honestly think Dig was their "Dark Side of the Moon." its such a ridculously awesome album. the instrumentation, the singing, the integration of the latin style instruments and grooves. Definetely my favorite album of all time.
Hey!! Two words... Rock n Roll Fucking Heaven. That should take you back, those of you that were there!! I went to high school with Franz, the bassist that should have been there, but got a little side tracked. He was the soul of that band, until they split off into the Edwin solo project.
great song, it actually sounds like someone dribbling a basketball! Wish they would reunite kinda like rage against the machine is doing! Let's bring back the 90s!
I've heard the Vedder comparisons before and still think they hold very little water, but if you do check the "time line" you'd see Ten was '91 and Dig is '93. Doesn't matter both albums were both bands greatest. LOVE 'em.
That is some sort of "frankenstrat"Jag probably wirred the thing himself. That's a 72 in So gently we go,in Rain he uses his carrnage strat, LOts of strats.!!
Jag uses, like you say, a variety of Strats. He has some left handed strat necks on a righty guitar. He used a combination of Budda guitars for the early stuff and Naylor amps for some of that later stuff, I believe. I see that most of his stuff is in use recording a band called dodger. I saw photos of his guitar gear in photo gallery on their site. Dub Dub Dub ya dodger DOT ca
Most underrated band of all time. I Mother Earth is amazing with Edwin and with Bryan. All 4 albums are masterpieces. They'd probably still be making music if it wasn't for their label. I hope they get back together soon. In the meantime check out Bryan Byrne's solo project "Tuesdays, Thursdays and if it rains". Get back together guys...mankind needs your music. I can't be more dramatic than that.
i agree, for the most part i like bryan's singing better, the one exception being the first chorus in 'like a girl' when edwin sings: "you're no me...". While Q Meat Dream had maybe 2 or 3 sorta boring songs (still better than anything linkin park has ever written), the only Bryan-era song that I dont like is Autumn on Drugs (the california wave), The rest are slammin'. Any one who hasn't heard the new stuff I recommend you hear it. Try the song 'Meat Dreams' and listen to WHOLE THING on max vol
