i have never got past this part i suck at being marine plus its scares you when alien pops out when your suspecting it but i have beaten the pred campaign and alien campaign

I HATED the Gold Edition! It was basically identical to the old version but with lazily created multiplayer arenas and all of the excellent voice-acting of the original replaced with truly DREADFUL British developers putting on laughably unconvincing American accents. I wish they'd re-release the old version instead of this crappy Gold Edition!

Ah, the memories. I worked an entire summer when I was 14 just to save up the $45 I needed to buy this game . . . now it's $5 on Steam. I broke it out the other day and it will work in XP with some patches and a fair amount of Googling, the gameplay is still top-notch. Thanks for the upload!!

The videos were changed in AvP Gold, which was an expansion pack for AvP1. AvP Gold added pistols and the skeeter marine weapon. Personally, I think the original FMVs from AvP are better.

just got it today and played it for 2 hours on marine campaing and then a half hour of multiplayer it is very good i didnt think it would be this good the multiplayer is very fast paced and u have to watch ur back in skirmish mode sooo yeah hope u have fun playing the game man>>>

all u need to do is be able to play half life...same kinda grafics and if that doesnt work you caln allways complain to steam and they might give your money back

@noahsark50 It's intense, the game doesn't hold your hand like in newer games. You can get lost and the aliens are very relentless. So I'd say it's scarier than most games.

When I had the game , I remember I passed the first mission with the Marines but when I clicked on the second one it always freezed, I don't know why. I also remember I never got past the third mission with the Predator and that I completed the whole campaign with the Alien

Did you know that it seems Steam's re-release stole simonlemonhead's XP patch? He has been working on it for years, and just when he did a good job on it, it seemed like at the same time AvP Classic 2000 was released.

@Michalt441alt from what I have read they ported the entire game to directx9 which would allow XP and later versions full compatibility. The XP patch may just be coincidence.

Ah, I LOVED this game! My favourite was always the Alien campaign; I loved being the sneaky, stealthy, fragile assassin (ok, not so much the fragile...). But fighting against them even as the Predator was scary as hell. I never went beyond the 1st level as Marine!
