im hindu and i started drinking at 16 (socially), my parents would never except it at that age so i never told them. but they understand that people do it, plus i have older sisters that drink and my parents know about it, they just dont allow it in the house.
i have many friends that dont drink and we dont care if they do or dont, and they dont feel the pressure nor do we put them in that situation where they do.
i drink. but only when i'm out partying :D ...haha but i have friends who don't drink and none of us have been separated over how sober a person chooses to be...LOL...but the sober ones are always the ones who were always entertained by what us stupid drunkies did :P
Looking back now- I'm glad that I never touched alcohol-
I knew alot of ppl who didn't meet their full potential bcz drugs, alcohol n partying became their focus- I know some ppl who now feel the need to occasionally or socially drink- even though they cut down in order to try n observe religious/cultural standards. I'm just glad that smoking weed didn't become a worrying issue for me like smoking cigarettes did.
Anyway, I really like your videos. Wish TopBoysUK the best of luck n success.
Socially I am in the coke n red bull group lol- but I compensate with cigarettes (I know- I started young, but I hav been cutting down since Ramadan in order to quit by the new year). Something I do occasionally during parties to compensate for not drinking is getting high on weed- it's an occasional thing, 2/3 times a year- I know I'm not supposed to do that either so I'm gonna say no to weed when i pack smoking in.
Couple months before my 20th, I was quite depressed because I hadn't done alot of the things my m8s had done- things that are culturally frowned upon n religiously prohibited- but society seems to forgive if u do it n leave it whilst you're still young.
But on my 20th a m8 offered me a drink n i thought, I've gone my entire teen years without, so y start now- n bcz i dnt like the smell n everyone says it taste nasty lol
I'm Muslim so I don't drink. But I'm British so Alcohol has always been around me, more n more in my teen years. I've got friends who drink, even though they're muslim n sikh n aren't supposed to. There have been moments in my late-teens when I could've got away with it, but I thought what's the point.
i dont drink bt i wud never luk down on otherz tht drink unless they're abusing alchol cuz thtz also abusing ur body and i dnt get y da hell you'd do that, why on earth wud u wona make urself fat? I mean 'hello' control your urges people...

honestly.... social drinking is all good and fine... when you go out of your way to get drunk then that is a problem. I am a sikh and dont drink. Yes in this religion drinking is not permitted but it goes on to other forms of intoxication as well. Its because your mind basically forgets God and youre in a state where its hard for you to comprehend situations and have bad thoughts. Sure you can follow the path of sikhism but that doesn't make you a sikh especially when you consume alcohol. =)
I understand that drinking alcohol is forbidden in some religions.
However, for me.... managing to drink responsibly and having some self control.... Thats discipline.
Avoiding a drink simply because your family forbids you not to is not right. Which makes you FEAR the drink. And therefore you put down others in a VERY bad way just to cover up your fear. I am 16. I WILL drink in the future. There is no discipline in avoiding alcohol. It's all in your head :)
I'm kna, so I have grown up seeing uncles drinking every single time I would go to a party. I remember at my brother's holy communion, the father said that there is to be no alcohol and as we left, I see a small rv that is filled will hard liquor I found it to be very ironic/ sad to see that the people that are meant to be our role models were setting such bad examples for us. There was also this time when an uncle asked his son at a wedding, what he would like to drink and he was only 15!!
All of my friends are Punjabis and get drunk every other weekend and baring in mind we're all 17/18, I don't join them. But where I'm originally come from- Kerela, the christians drink alot, the hindu's less and the muslims don't at all according to stereotype. I don't really know about the rest of india... Obviously everything changes when we're talking about british asians as most of them drink from my experience, no matter what religion they belong to.
nope did not take offence!! i really agree with the Sikhism view, we are not meant to drink alcohol, yet there are sooo many songs about it :/ love this new show :) xx
i wouldnt call them friends, friends are those who understand ur views and love u for the way u are, drinkin or no drinkin, ive got friends from alota different religions who drink and dnt drink but thats never made me less popular or made me smoke drink etc.. theyve accepted me and my beliefs and respect the fact i dnt drink, and thats how it shud be :)
i dont think alcohol brings people together, but a persons personality and kindness brings people together, if u think those who make u drink cuz it makes em look cool and etc..
Lmao punjabi are heavy drinker, they really are. I think my family is more like Harry's where they think that alcohol is normal. I am Hindu punjabi meaning my language is punjabi but my biliefs are mostly Hinduism. I once went to my cousins house in kenilworth. The prefer champagne. They offered me Dom peri nom, I looked at my dad and he said ' son... Go on then say cheers ' seconds later I gulped the champagne down. Which your not meant to for the taste sinks in. Everyone just laughed at me

@justinbiebersgurlist wait a sec, why on earth would i have to do research on this...this is what my family do so i cant be FALSE about, some punjabi's drink and some do, is it a crime that i evended u, no. i said what i felt and what my family does. however, ur family is different. have u seen a punjabi movie? if u have it sez it all for ya

being a sikh punjabi in australia, i have learnt that alcohol is actually forbidden as it's a type of "nasha", however most sikhs have the freedom to embrace their spirituality and religious values on how they interpret their religion themselves or so what my community has been brought up with and so it's seen as a celebration device in a way. same goes with my family in india too.

Ive met alot of people who look down on drinkers. Im of the coke group btw and I can say I dont feel like I am directly outcasted by the drinkers but have naturally outcasted myself when the next day everyone would laugh about the funny shit going on but I wouldnt find it funny...
i'm a 17 year old from a family who all freely drink and yet don't like the idea of me even drinking weak things like cider- but fair enough for the time being i think.. but what i find genuinely annoying is the fact that my 'white/western' friends all seem to think that i can't have any fun at parties if i'm not drinking heavily and its a ridiculous idea to think that you have to drink in order to have fun- it helps maybe, but isn't necessary...

I ain't racist but i hang around with white people, go to their parties which involves in drinking but i never drank alcohol. I will start drinking till i get to 17-18 but for now its just orange juice!
LOL! im punjabi! and dw vijai...ur punjabi was somewhat acceptable..! lool i dont drink, & i dnt plan 2 either.this is mainly becuz alcohol is a drug & i dnt want 2 get addicted or anything, as its linked 2 several health problems. No1 inmyfamily drinks&they promote non-alcoholism...im not against alcohol or any1 who drinks it& i agree it does bring ppl together socially, and ppl who dont drink may become an outcast, but i personally believe that drinking should be avoided-greatt show guyss xoxo
@TheDailyCranks What??? a teenager doesn't need to have fun drinking alcohol. there are other ways to have fun. play sports or something. It is far more dangerous for teenagers to drink because they will get drunk quicker, who knows what will happen when they lose judegement and cross a dangerous road...please don't promote underage drinking.

i'm a 17 year old from a family who all freely drink and yet don't like the idea of me even drinking weak things like cider- but fair enough for the time being i think.. but what i find genuinely annoying is the fact that my 'white/western' friends all seem to think that i can't have any fun at parties if i'm not drinking heavily and its a ridiculous idea to think that you have to drink in order to have fun- it helps maybe, but isn't necessary...

I ain't racist but i hang around with white people, go to their parties which involves in drinking but i never drank alcohol. I will start drinking till i get to 17-18 but for now its just orange juice!
btw i'm 15 reply back!

LOL! im punjabi! and dw vijai...ur punjabi was somewhat acceptable..! lool i dont drink, & i dnt plan 2 either.this is mainly becuz alcohol is a drug & i dnt want 2 get addicted or anything, as its linked 2 several health problems. No1 inmyfamily drinks&they promote non-alcoholism...im not against alcohol or any1 who drinks it& i agree it does bring ppl together socially, and ppl who dont drink may become an outcast, but i personally believe that drinking should be avoided-greatt show guyss xoxo

i didn't start drinking until i was 13 but it's the whole point of being a teenager have fun!
TheDailyCranks 5 months ago
@TheDailyCranks What??? a teenager doesn't need to have fun drinking alcohol. there are other ways to have fun. play sports or something. It is far more dangerous for teenagers to drink because they will get drunk quicker, who knows what will happen when they lose judegement and cross a dangerous road...please don't promote underage drinking.
