  • O M F G!

  • what the fuck is that dumb shit he's doing with his hands????

  • @gomachols He's feeling the music.

  • @drsolace it's garbage dude. no lie.

  • @gomachols a little bit respect for the jesus of controllerism please?

  • @rutierut may hes the jesus, but moroder is god ;-)

  • Back when Ean use to cut his hair...

  • IS THAT A BRICK???

  • @lemanugls Nope, styrofoam

  • Thumbs up for santa at the end!! :D

  • i bought a vci because of this vid :)

  • jack white and ean golden... did i just die and go to musical heaven!?

  • at 0:31 joe from family guy says JESUS!

  • Take a glas of water put some sand in it, drink it, pie it out, do that 2 times a day for a month long, and there you go, now you will have a bigger pie hole

  • hey liebe grüße tolles video, würde mich freuen wenn du bei mir auch ein kommentar machst ;-)

    youtube.com/user/1engelteufel

  • anybody else notice the two concrete blocks his vestax is sitting on?

  • @dimesach untill just now.. no, no i did not ^^'' lol

  • all his tutorials start out..."its actually quite simple" ... by the end im depressed cuz i suck at life and this dude is fucking pioneer.

  • Ean Golden rocks!

    His VCI-100SE's rock!

But I don't have the balls to butcher up my Vestax TR-1, LOL!

KONTROL... Cheapshot's Bar, last Friday of the month. Long Beach, CA.

  • KONTROL...

Controllerist battles, every last Friday of the month. 2 ~ 5 minute sets.

Prize for night's winner. Bring your laptop and controller.

    Starts July 29th, 2011.

    Cheapshot's Bar, Long Beach, CA.

  • HOW THE FUCK IS THE CROWD STANDING STILL AND BEEN QUITE?

  • @TheNickNacker denk ich mir auch gerade !

  • guys, dont give him more credit than he deserves.

being jesus and all, it shouldn't be too hard for him, haha

    jk, this was the shit.

  • who ever disliked this has a small penis

  • @JHNProduction the crowd doesnt like it - but its in Japan so I guess u are right :O

  • @JHNProduction dude why you dislike?

  • what are those red turntables in the background?? Look like old Vestax pre-PDX-2000 decks?

  • @martinsymons92 See the only problem with that is that the Vinyl head will find something to hate. They will always find the unfamiliar idea and point out its flaws, much like the computer. It has it's ability to sync, yes, but it takes hundreds of pounds of vinyl and cds and puts them on a hard drive the size of a pack of gum.

  • guitar heror pro

  • Haha I love the guy who just simply said "Jesus."

  • The White Stripes - Seven Nation Army

The White Stripes - Catch Hell Blues

    Peaches - I U He

    songs! don't ask again.

  • what' s the name of the songs played ?

  • taht's vci-100

  • coudnt he have just used a ns7 with its hot cues?, didnt hear much of traktors effects being used.. mad skills though.

  • And I'm sure there was some asshat that came up to him afterwards and said "But can you beatmatch?????"

  • uber dope

  • This guy is my hero.

  • your a legend ean golden the mustache isnt good for you though :)

  • @0:32 Jesus!

  • Japanese Santa! ohohohhoho xD

  • Lol the announcer... uuooooOOOHHOHOOHOOOHOOHOOOOOOO

  • lamest crowd ever!

this guy is killing it and they all just stand there and stare at him...

  • @streetxlite

    There in shock :P

  • @streetxlite That's their culture actually, I was surprised the first time I experienced it but they like to walk and observe a performer as opposed to go mental to one. Good in it's own way, just really unsettling the first few times you are in front of a crowd like that ahah.

  • yearly years good work thumb up to Ean

  • you are so great man..very nice

  • Comment removed

  • first song name ?

  • This is like 1000th time i watched this video and it still amazes me

  • JEEEEESUS!

  • nice

  • nice bro! but what have you got your upfaders set to do? i'm confused!

  • fuking sick !!

  • And bhbhawk have you seen his new routines there insane ean is a legend get your gay shit out of here

  • @thedjsneaky ean is a legend ? HAHHAHA ..

  • @bhbhawk Ever tried a dj controller?

  • @Whofacesmiles actually i haven´t , but i have tried turntables, mixer and vinyl records, hey talking about legends check out ruckazoid - quickswitches , i like that shit , combines mad scratching skills + new techonology .. pz out man!

  • @bhbhawk u do it then :)

  • @younglonewolf @younglonewolf i don´t wanna waste my time for gimmicks.. but if you think thats something groundbreaking and requires mad skills, you are seriously fooled by some quantised button smashin... anyway , my first comment was stupid, i don´t wanna hate really, whatever works for you , well.... works for you :D happy new year!!!

  • @bhbhawk Not to start an argument but there is a lot of talent in the amount of work and preparation that goes into a performance like that. The performance and button mashing itself isn't the part that takes effort and talent. Setting up a performance like that takes quite a while. Would you say a composer isn't talents for going in front of an audience and pressing play on one of their new pieces?

  • @bhbhawk tit

  • @bhbhawk well, just try to advance mix with hot cues and things while focusing on beatmatching the whole time

  • this video is fuckin stupid goooddd

  • awesome!

  • I think the fader is shut

  • I admire Eans Organisation of tracks (as well as creativity), I wish I could put this much effort into set preparation and delivery... Totally Inspiring

    With Love

  • lokks like that dj-hero-playstation-shit Oo

    but it's pure art

  • sick

  • Jack White would loooove this!!

  • attention! he kills it at 1:30. Eal Golden is the shit.

  • Ean, you blow my mind! this is so damn amazing. I have seen your videos, read your blog a lot of times.

I do really want to learn how to controllerism, i migth order a VCI-100 arcade editon (have been thinking of that for about 1 - 2 years)

  • the clicks are refreshing

  • man thts dope!!!

  • so rad!!!

  • What controller did he mutate ?

  • @DonJuanDeMarco2 it's a vci-100. they sell it on djtechtools with the arcade buttons.

  • @DonJuanDeMarco2 dj techtools does the "arcade mod" its a vci 100

  • @DonJuanDeMarco2

    vci 100 black 1.4

  • He started killing it at 1:39

  • Dead crowd , Wow

    Massive<3

  • @XTEPtube i think it might've been a tutorial performance

  • @CotionOfPonfusion

    Could be.

  • @XTEPtube This vid was in Toyko, the japanese are usually pretty quite at concerts at stuff,

Ive listened to some live audio and its definately a cultural thing, they just dont show much feedback during the performance.

  • @elite128 they don't make noise at concerts? seriously?

  • @hyperlexic2 thats how it is in Japan. Its a culture thing - "not to disturb an artist at work"

  • @crystaldreamer79 no kidding? that's actually a very cool concept, but I wonder how many western artists go there and just think they are bombing LOL. do they behave the same way at Japanese Noise / Scream Pop Metal shows?

  • @hyperlexic2 ...not at open areas. LOL. from what i do know, if an artist performs indoors in a relatively small location - lets say a bar or a small stage, thats how the Japanese behave generally. otherwise, they sing a long or cheer or do choreographed movements (including choreographed headbanging).

  • me : This is Madness !!!

Ean : Madness !!! this is controllerism

  • i want this in mp3 with good sound quality... Its huge!!!

  • He is a Mad man a mad man! :D

  • @iluvtrance69 or just make traktor rewire compatible, thats all it would need to do

  • anyone got a link 4 tht wee vocal but just the vocal or hoo is it and i will find it myself thnx

  • Can somebody make a tut vid of where to set the cue points in the song "seven nation army"? i cant seem to get this right....

  • BADAZZ! You're awsome! You made me start looking in to controllerism... Hope to reach your level someday... :P

  • MrPopinGay!!

  • what vocal song is playing with seven nation army?

  • It's "I U He" by Peaches

  • Soooo badass. This is how DJing should be done.

  • yeaa but playing any more than 5 mins of this stuff is exhausting. On a night a DJ can be expected to play for an hour or two.

  • true, but its completely legit to open up a night with something like this. Show off your technical skill, then just freeze out into your favorite banger, gets the ladis ; )

  • What tracks are these?

  • Oh...Shit...Man that's bloody awesome. That guys got some skill there.

  • mr golden, you one bad azz dejay!! i like your style. and i don't know too many dj's

that have torn apart a completely new

controller and rebuilt the damn thing to

    his specifications.damn you bad!!!

  • godlike

  • Badass!

  • This video still gives me chubs after all this time.

  • Whats the second white stripes song?

  • catch hell blues

  • seven nation army

  • oop never mind oops lol

  • Catch hell blues... as i said...

  • dudes jamming out and everyones just standing around lol, not bad tho

  • genial..... xD

  • so nice, getting my 100 tomorrow :)

  • he's playing beatmania... on easy

  • what is the sounds from 1 30 onwards hectic

  • looks like a 300 to me....

  • he did an arcade mod on it, look on his site.

  • This is amazing, what kind of controller is he using?

  • not so much niggah.

  • I know this is probably native only to the vci-100 but how did you change the cue point settings on the fly like that ?? is it modifier toggle buttons??? or just a whole new set of cue points??

  • I dont think he was changing the cue points.

You can save 8 hot cue points for each song on Traktor, and the 4 buttons below each jog wheel are for the hot cues.

  • hot fingers:) great

  • bablouche: i'd like to see you try this you fuckin elitist. bitchass.

  • love this

  • AWESOME:)

  • wow this is awesome

i really love using cue points on my stanton c.324 but i needed something a little more reliable when playing live

im still learning how to use em in traktor scratch pro... that stuff is a migraine sometimes but it seems soooo worth it :D

  • very sick! Oo

  • I U She by the peaches

    btw..great mixing man!!

  • oh, and what's the song with the girl singing at the beginning? anyone? ean?

  • were are your videos?

  • alright tongy, chill out! I think I'd probably argue that the art is in the controllerism, and hence the mixing. I think its class myself!

  • Comment removed

  • 50000 :D

  • excellent

  • FUCKING GREAT!

  • awesome! )

  • holy shit, that was sick, this is a new wave of DJing Remixing live

  • What songs are these?

  • "The White Stripes - Seven nation army"

  • First:

    Seven Nation + Peaches

and then just double copies of Catch Hell Blues. Each copy has cue points on different parts of the song.

Thanks for the props and support guys!

  • this is like 1 of my favorite music things on youtube!

but btw.. does anyone know where i can buy me a VCI-100 with the custom arcade buttons already fitted? cuz i 'm not too handy with a screwdriver lol

but yeah i soo wanna get into Controllerism!

  • For now just get a good qwerty keyboard (one of those clicky ones). That'll handle the buttons for you. Or consider an m-audio x-session for under $100 and get decent buttons plus sliders and knobs very cheaply.

This stuff is a breeze if you got rhythm but warning: Traktor makes mapping a real pain, thus discouraging serious musicians from using it.

The real challenge is pulling moves like Ean Golden without preparation (cue points in particular). Maybe he does that too, I dunno (?)

  • I believe ean's website is selling them already modded.

  • Yeah- we currently have them for sale (custom made to order) at dj TechTools

  • rokkin' ! (^_^)

  • As a massive White Stripes fan this is my favourite thing...ever! haha. Well, Not quite

  • yeah, "Seven Nation Army" and "Catch Hell Blues"... really cool...

  • man loving this video i gotta drop you an email again soon about a prob we are having with our vestax at the moment...

loving it.. we bow down to you god lol

  • wat white tripes song is that

  • MAD PROPS 2 EAN!!! Something new ..!!!!

  • it was all analouge? whats analogue about an akai sampler? the mpc samlers that all the rap guys you are talking about are totaly digital. also its not about equiptment its about getting people to dance. if people are dancing he is doing a good job. the dude has vestax in his pocket. he rocks!

  • aye hiphop DJ's have been doing this to produce for a very long time, they've been using controllers like AKAI pads with samples for well over a decade and the princible is exactly the same. Pete Rock, Q-tip 20syl, even shadow and chemist have done live shows using controllers I dont see how this is any different only that most of the aforementioned didnt have fancy computer technology, it was all analouge.
