I dislike people who tell you to keep quiet when you open your mouth and sing, when all you want is them to compliment your voice (as you deliberately sang out in the 1st place to impress them). It's sad and discouraging.

HOWEVER...it only makes you more determined to learn! Well, most of the time.

don't get discouraged. don't mind what others say either good or bad. don't do it for their opinions. if you get too many compliments, you may become prideful about your voice. too many bad critics may discourage you and block you as you may become less confident. i don't know what you are singing for. I sing for the Lord and whatever people may tell me, I say thanks and I put aside, unless its constructive critics given by musicians or vocal coaches. Be blessed.

you can try to plug your nose, and try to find where you arent depending on your nose, and do excersizes with your nose plugged...it helps with me...i hope you understand me

open your mouth with an inward smile. that might sound funny but it works, be blessed. (I don't know if you're an alto or soprano, try watching live vids from singers like Yolanda Adams, Mary Mary and watch their facial expression how they open their mouth reaching different notes. be blessed.

well quicky questionn. i used to vocalize like everyday and sing ALL THE TIME! then i got really busy with school and sports and i havent in like months! its soo wierd getting back into it now. but would my voice be worse now or stay the same? goshh. i dont want to start all over again. i achieved a lot better voice but now its not all there.

My favorite part of these videos is the beginning and endings, where he shamelessly plugs his songs, slowly making us fall in love with them. It is marketing at is best! What ever song is playing in this video is hot by the way.
