After over 3 hours they were unable to resolve the matter and told me that there was nothing further that they could do. I filed a claim for a refund on the technical support and was (VERY RUDELY I MIGHT ADD by "Orville badge #GWSS116") denied. I'm really not sure which is worse, the customer support or the product. After my experiences not only would I not recommend purchase, I would strongly advise against it. I hope this review helps someone before they make the same mistakes that I did.

@HallMichael8 @HallMichael8 You need to change a BIOS setting in the initial boot (press F2, then change SATA mode to IDE from AHCI mode) or update the BIOS. The first option might be easier... Google 'acer aspire 1410 ubuntu karmic ubuntuforums1410 karmic' for a good guide for post-install fixes

Dude, I have got to say... That was the best Notebook Laptop Review I have ever seen! I love those little Notebook Laptops, but they don't have a very nice bottom. And I am getting a Fluro Green skin for my laptop... Oh and I am getting a mouse with it, I don't like using the finger pad.

I bought the 1410-2920 model (black), and I'm having second thoughts about it. The first one I received had loose hinges, so I had it replaced with Newegg and the second one has better hinges but aren't as firm/strong as I'd prefer. What are your thoughts about the hinges on this sweet computer.

I have seen many and like the Acer Aspire AS1410 but I really love the keyboard of the Lenovo X100e. I wouldn't want to spend more than $500 USD on a netbook. I would love any opinions.

It uses a Intel Celeron Dual-core SU2300, which is more powerful than any of the Intel Atoms and can do HD playback without the need of Nvidia's Ion or Tegra.
